haven’t seen this kind of thing before in my life.

I saw war and felt how death close to me. I was afraid

more than my daughter and my mother.

The coronavirus outbreak has changed life for all of us in many ways. Numerous countries are in lockdown, with hundreds of thousands of people in quarantine and self-isolation. Here in the USA, We have been in house quarantine last two weeks. I am too, and it’s not easy. So I have started to come up with creative and useful stuff I can do to make the best out of this gloomy situation. I may not be limited when it comes to going outside, so I found myself with my camera shooting locked doors and businesses. Here in Manhattan, we can still go out, so it’s a good chance to go for a walk and take some photos. To get rid o the pessimism on me, I had to go out onto the street and take this doldrums in empty spaces. These restaurants and stores that are filled with customers are now empty. Pleasant mien and joyful laughter are no longer filling places. Gulsen Goksel, 29th March 2020, New York
