This series of paintings was borne out of the Bilge’s idea to free himself from the convention of painting within a rectangular frame. He purchased the trunk of a Cedar Tree and had it sliced and planed both horizontally and vertically. The resulting range of natural shapes provides an irregular and unique frame for each painting . Some of these artworks are painted directly onto the prepared and undercoated wood, others are covered in canvas. All of these artworks employ Bilge's Turkish whirling technique, which he developed as a new style of oil painting by adapting the forms of traditional Turkish Ebru. The result creates a marbling effect with a high gloss finish.
