Introduction
With our diversified industrial businesses and expanding global footprint, Harsco participates in many different types of trade fairs, shows and exhibitions around the world. Even though budgets and targeted uses will vary widely, this chapter describes the basic design elements and standards that will ensure that our Harsco booths

and displays always present a consistent and professional image, regardless of size, shape or location. For illustration purposes, these guidelines show a range of sizes, from the smallest tabletop displays to three typical booth configurations measuring 8, 26 and 50 square meters (the equivalents of approximately 8 x 10, 10 x 30 and 16 x 30 feet).

Branding
As with other applications discussed throughout this manual, there are two branding treatments for exhibits. All corporate exhibits should feature the Harsco corporate logotype. All business group exhibits should feature their respective business group signature, or as an alternative, a combination of the Harsco corporate logotype as the

primary brand identity viewable from other parts of the exhibition hall, with the respective business group signature as the supporting brand on graphics and product displays. Guidelines for the application of branding on exhibition materials and graphics are the same as those for other materials, such as marketing literature.

Tabletop displays often are used for special events, trade association conferences, recruiting fairs and other small to medium-size gatherings. These small exhibits typically utilize pop-up-style portable stands covered with fabric or soft laminate and feature lightweight attachable graphics. The Harsco identity should be applied to backdrop and graphic materials that are used in the display. Carpeting color typically is not specifed. Just as with a

booth, all materials must be, without exception, in top condition, properly maintained and undamaged, and presenting a fresh and clean appearance. Unless a full-width graphic panel as illustrated below is used, backdrop materials should be neutral-colored in white, light gray or gray-beige to provide adequate contrast for exhibit graphics.
While it is always appropriate and acceptable to use the Harsco corporate logotype in displays, space limitations may dictate that a business group uses only its business group signature, as shown in the upper right corner of the illustration below. See the preceding section 7.2 for discussion.

Small Booths — 8 m2 (80 ft2)
The small booth configuration measures 2 x 4 meters, or approximately 8 x 10 feet. This is a typical size for small fairs or exhibitions, such as those held in a hotel or small convention hall.

Proper color selection is important to ensuring a consistent Harsco look. Blue carpeting similar in hue to Harsco Blue (equivalent to PMS 300 or RAL 5015 sky blue) is preferred, together with neutral-color walls of white, light gray or gray-beige. The bottom illustration also shows an optional blue accent band in Harsco Blue.
Furniture and fixtures are best left to each exhibit team’s discretion based on existing resources and available materials. Nevertheless, in every Harsco display all furniture and fixtures must be, without exception, in top condition, properly maintained and

Small Booths — 8 m2 (80 ft2) In all configurations, the Harsco identity should always be prominently displayed and visible from aisles and, if possible, other areas in the exhibition hall.

The medium-size booth configuration measuring 4 x 6 meters, or approximately 10 x 30 feet, introduces additional opportunities for displays, seating and storage. The two unwalled sides opening to aisles should be arranged for maximum visitor attention and ease of discussion.

may also enable an overhead truss above the booth to illuminate the area and spotlight logo panels and large illustrations. This will help ensure that the Harsco identity is visible and recognizable from a distance.
A wide variety of graphic treatments and materials is available, but care should be taken to ensure that all graphics are up-sized appropriately, consistent with the size and scale of the booth. Sizes and layouts are left to the discretion of the exhibit team, but typical graphic materials within this configuration are wall posters of approximately 76 x 90 cm in size

(approximately 30 x 36 inches). A consistent top edge of approximately 225 cm (approximately 96 inches) ensures a uniform appearance (see photo 1). Other recommendations include free-standing display panels (see photo 2) of approximately 80 x 200 cm (approximately 32 x 78 inches) and large banners (see photo 3), which may
feature the Harsco identity or large illustrations. A typical size is 350 x 120 cm (approximately 138 x 48 inches). Constructed of fabric or other durable, weather-resistant materials, these banners are particularly suited to outdoor use and also large exhibition halls, where they may be seen from a distance (photos 3 and 4).
