Phillip Tripp, of Cobden, holds his dog Tinker Tuesday at his home. Tripp said he took the dog in after a friend no longer wanted her. Tripp said he retired from the Forest Service about a year ago and bought roughly an acre of land and a fifth wheel trailer that he lives in.
