Mike Pursell, of Murphysboro, awaits a sale Thursday at Pursell’s, his buy-sell-trade shop located on Country Club Road. “I sell all of my favorite stuff: guitars, guns and pool cues,” he said. “I’ve been here for 20 years.” Pursell said this is his second job, as he is a mechanic at the Jackson Country Club when he is not working at the store.

About Us The Daily Egyptian is published by the students of Southern Illinois University Carbondale 50 weeks per year, with an average daily circulation of 20,000. Fall and spring semester editions run Monday through Friday. Summer editions run Tuesday through Thursday. All intersession editions will run on Wednesdays. Anthony Garcia, a senior from Naperville studying industrial technology and an employee for the Physical Plant Grounds Department, helps unload a recycling truck Monday at Southern Recycling Center in Carbondale. Garcia said mixed paper is usually the majority of the load of all the recyclables he helps deliver to the recycling center. Starting Feb. 5, SIUC began participating in the annual RecycleMania competition. The event is a nationwide competition to see which participating college campus can recycle the most.
