The images that adorn our catalog covers are the product of a design competition that is carried out each year by De Gruyter in cooperation with Lette Verein Berlin, a vocational training association.

The Few-Body Problem in Dynamic Systems

This volume provides a compact presentation of modern statistical physics at an advanced level, from the foundations of statistical mechanics to the main modern applications of statistical physics. Special attention is given to new approaches, such as quantum field theory methods and non-equi librium problems. This second, revised edition is expanded with biographical notes contextualizing the main results in statistical physics.

The few-body problem (FBP), the essence of which is the Schrödinger equation is not solvable for more than two interacting particles. Atomic collisions are ideally suited to study the FBP because the under lying force is essentially understood and because simple systems can be studied for which kinemati cally complete experiments are feasible. The book would cover various experimental and theoretical approaches in atomic collision research.

INTENSIFICATIONPROCESS

FALLING FILMS IN DESALINATION

Intensified processes have found widespread application in the chemical and petrochemical industries. The use of intensified systems allows for a reduction of operating costs and supports the “greening” of chemical processes. However, the design of intensified equipment requires special methodologies. This book describes the fundamen tals and applications of these design methods, mak ing it a valuable resource for use in both industry and Fernandoacademia.Israel Gómez-Castro and Juan Gabriel Segovia-Hernández, University of Guanajuato, Mexico English, 3rd quarter 2019 DeSeriesGruyter STEM Approx. 320 pp., 100 fig.
