Sometimes, you find a person so good that you find yourself hanging onto their every word. So intelligent and kind that you would take on the whole world if they asked. Who weaves words and sounds so powerful that, fueled by music, you might actually end up crushing the world in a euphoric frenzy. Someone so visionary that they can then rebuild a new universe for you with just lyrics and song. Min Yoongi is such a person. The atmospheres he creates with his music are personal, honest, and raw. There is beauty in the extremes of emotion he expresses, in the drunken, powerful highs and the gut-wrenching lows. With his quick wit and sharp tongue, he is more than capable of knocking down those who stand in your way. Most often, though, it is with a gentle hand that he will help you grow and learn to love yourself. His music is the wise, protective friend we all want, it’s the safe haven of hope we all need. Here, in these pages, you will find how nine artists and nine writers use these worlds Yoongi builds as spaces to just close their eyes and heal and breathe. - Uma

I have always imagined Yoongi creating D-2 like a blank canvas. It feels like him carefully brushing strokes in between his lyrics and their sounds. From that canvas, he has created a masterpiece which shows another side of him, shows how he has grown as an artist musically and creatively. This masterpiece is a spectrum of sound, a spectrum of emotions. It feels very personal. It is real and raw, unafraid to criticize, honest to its thoughts. It is uplifting and comforting. You easily connect with it. Like an artwork, you cannot stop appreciating it. You find yourself listening to it on repeat, for hours, for days, until now and into the future. Good art is meant to be appreciated, but for people to be inspired and to make a movement from it---is one-of-a-kind. D-2 is that kind of art. Of the music, stories, and artworks created; Of the people who newly discovered their love for art; Of the creatives who have found the courage to pick-up their love for art again. To Yoongi, for pouring himself in creating this masterpiece. To D-2. We are always thankful for inspiring us to create more. - Finn

The gvfxarmy team are creatives who were brought together by our love for BTS and our passion for creating and bringing our ideas to life. Yoongi, in particular, has been so open and honest about the battle between a creative and their passion and the fight to maintain that passion even when things get tough, even when there’s obstacles along the way. We can keep going at a pace which fits us and also stop for a rest. We can focus on what we can control and change and let go of the things that are outside of our control. Despite this battle, the world still turns. We can pursue the things we want, or just take pleasure in the beauty of every small moment, because life goes on. Thank you Min Yoongi for inspiring us to create a space for ARMY to share our love for being creative. Thank you for your music, thank you for your words. Dear Yoongi. Is it too late to start again. It is too late to rewrite the story. Is it too late to tear out the page even though it has been such a long joruney to get to this point. Such a long journey to reach this point. But this isn’t what I expected it to be. Is it too late to stop? It isn’t too late. It isn’t too late to change what I can. It isn’t too late to change paths, after trying something that did not work. Trying was worth it. It was better to try...than to have not tried at all. It is better to see how it goes then decide to change things. It is better this way right? Things change. People change. And that is okay. Thank you, Yoongi.

my dearest yoongi, some days, the world stretches around me so vast and overwhelming that i need to close my eyes and ground myself, make sure i don’t float away. some days, the pressure in my head sinks into my chest, low low low, all of my body the weight of my shoulders waiting for me to break. those days, i walk along sandy beaches and hold hands with the ocean. on those days, i feel the salt of tears mingle with the salt of the sea and, in the crashing of waves, i hear you. your voice is an anchor, did you know? you hold the power to heal with your words, with those softly sung verses, beautifully rasped raps, words that both rip me apart and stitch me back together. you once sung, murmured, ached, “set me free, knowing that it won’t go the way i want / set me free, knowing that it’s not what i want.” the sea pulls at me, and i know that there is strength in freedom. your words are the rarest of seeds, did you know? watered by blood, by sweat, by tears, they grow into flowers, soft under my hands. who knew music could smell so sweet? in between the roaring of waves, i hear your sighs that so mirror mine, and i know that there is healing in words. “dream / may your hardships end in full bloom.” by the ocean, breathing in your music, i am a garden of my own. happy birthday to you, who turns the whole world to gold. i love you dearly.
