GAME NOTES
• Chad Venning had a streak of seven straight games of double-figure scoring snapped Wednesday at Davidson as he finished with nine points. Entering this season, he had seven total double-figure scoring games in 42 career contests at Morgan State. He’s on this week’s Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll after posting 18.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg while shooting 64% last week. He scored 22 points Sunday vs. GW, just one off his career high. He played a career high 42 minutes Sunday.
• Moses Flowers led the Bonnies with 16 points Wednesday night. He surpassed 1,100 career points during the game. Sunday will mark the 100th career collegiate game for the Massachusetts native who spent his first three seasons at Hartford.
• A February losing skid has been extremely rare for the Bonnies in recent years. Since 2015-16, this is just the third time the Bonnies have lost even back-to-back games in the month of February and the first time SBU has lost three or more in a row February games since February 2015.
• St. Bonaventure is looking to snap its first five-game losing skid since the 2012-13 campaign.
• The Bonnies are below .500 this late in the year for the first time since finishing 2013-14 with a 6-10 A-10 record. It has been a decade since the Bonnies did not finish with a winning conference mark at season’s end.
• St. Bonaventure had a heartbreaker Sunday vs. GW, rallying from 18 points down with less than nine minutes to go before losing a four-point lead with 40 seconds remaining in OT. Daryl Banks III scored all of his 18 points after halftime.
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH’S
• The Hawks have taken steps forward this year in the fourth season under head coach Billy Lange. SJU has already achieved highs for total wins (13) and A-10 triumphs (7) in the Lange tenure, though the Hawks are seeking to snap a three-game losing streak after setbacks at Duquesne, Davidson and home vs. VCU on Tuesday night.
• SJU ranks fifth in the A-10 in scoring offense at 72.0 points per game, but just 14th in defense as opponents also score 72.5 ppg.
• Erik Reynolds II is one of the league’s top offensive players, ranking third in the A-10 at 18.4 ppg. Both Reynolds (79) and teammate Cameron Brown (72) are among the league leaders in 3-pointers this year, each shooting better than 37% from deep.
• Like the Bonnies, the Hawks have been up and down in A-10 play. SJU opened the league slate 0-4, but quickly responded with three straight wins. Since that point, the Hawks have won back-to-back games twice prior to the current three-game skid.

ATLANTIC 10 HONORS TITLE IX TRAILBLAZERS BONA’S QUESTA RECOGNIZED FOR
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Atlantic 10 Conference will spotlight 16 Title IX Trailblazers, one from each member institution and the conference office, at the 2023 A-10 Women’s and Men’s Basketball Championships. These impressive 16 women are each difference makers and have paved the way for creating and protecting opportunities for girls and women in sport and intercollegiate athletics throughout their careers. Bonnies executive deputy director of athletics/senior woman administrator Barb Questa has earned the award from St. Bonaventure.
The Trailblazers celebration is part of the Atlantic 10’s year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, federal legislation that was passed in June of 1972. The Title IX Trailblazers will be recognized and

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
This week's GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Feb. 19 are men's swimming junior Maxwell Murray and women's track freshman Adria Magnusson.
Murray notched two medals and set two program records at A-10 Championships last week.
The Penfield, N.Y. native earned a silver medal on the second night of championships with a time of 4:22.92 in the 500-freestyle. This time was good for a new program record, surpassing the time set by Vatslav Lets (4:23.90) in 2013.
On the final night of championships, the third-year swimmer registered a bronze medal and delivered a new program record in the mile, touching the wall in a time of 15:27.81. With his effort, he broke a school record which had stood for over 25 years as he overtook George Eversmann's 1997 mile time of 15:35.19. Murray is now atop the record book in the 500-freestyle, 1000-freestyle, and 1650-freestyle.
The Bonnies women’s track team set five new school-best marks at the Cornell Invite this past Saturday, led by a pair of new program bests by the first-year runner. Magnusson posted new program records in both the 400 (1:01.92) and the 800 (2:26.47).
The Ridgway, Pa. native crushed the old Bona record in the 400, beating it by over three and a half seconds. In Saturday's race, she placed third out of 24 competitors.
In the 800, she broke her own record which stood for only two weeks. She just clipped her previous mark of 2:26.90 posted at Brockport and finished fifth in the race out of 17 runners.
The Bonnies will travel to Kingston, R.I. this weekend to compete in the A-10 Indoor Championships.

A standout student-athlete at Temple, she was an All-American defender on the 1988 NCAA Championship women’s lacrosse team and a four-year member of the nationally-ranked field hockey team. She was also a member of the US women’s lacrosse national team in 1988-89 and was inducted into Temple’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
Questa is a past member of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Rules Committee and has served as Chair of the NCAA Memorial Resolutions Committee as well as working as an on-site supervisor for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Committee. She previously served a three-year term on the Collegiate Women’s Lacrosse Officiating Association (CWLOA) and now serves as a Special Consultant to the Executive Director. She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, NACDA and US Lacrosse.
“It is an honor and privilege to recognize the Atlantic 10 Conference Title IX Trailblazers. Each of these women has paved the way for thousands of girls and women to participate in and be successful in sports and life,” stated A-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. “Title IX was, and is, landmark federal legislation, however, it required women over the last five decades to step up and take advantage of the equal opportunities created for girls and women. Our society, communities, corporations, and country are better because of each of our Trailblazers and the skills acquired through sport.”
The Atlantic 10 Conference is concluding its year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. The league-wide recognitions included numerous events on each of the A-10 campuses, a commemorative logo, activations and visibility at all A-10 Championship events, educational sessions and the “What it Means to Me” campaign. This campaign engaged student-athletes, coaches, and administrators throughout the conference who shared their stories and the impact Title IX has had on their lives, which are available on the A-10 website.
