• Use rubbing alcohol. Solutions that contain 70 percent alcohol are effective against many viruses and bacteria. Nearly every interior surface of a vehicle can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. • Avoid bleach or hydrogen peroxide. They are likely to damage a car’s upholstery. • Use soap and water: Experts say that vigorous washing with a soapand-water solution can be effective against many contaminants. Friction also can help to break down germ cells during cleaning.

Dairy Ambassador Anna Lyness and CCE’s Ken Estes, Jr. Talk Livingston County Agriculture BY A M A N DA D U D E K
L
ivingston County’s story is, among other things, a story of agriculture. Its primary products include corn, soybeans, and dairy products, and it is one of the top five dairy producing counties in the country. It is no surprise then that dairy farming has been and continues to be a valued way of life for many local families. “Many of the farms in our county go back generations,” said Ken Estes, Jr., Agriculture Program Leader at the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Livingston County. “This is because some of the best soils in New York are right here in Livingston County. My family has been farming here in Caledonia since 1832, and we are not the oldest.” Estes credits Livingston County’s hilly terrain and the Genesee River which divides it with creating these higher quality soils. Taking advantage of the excellent soil and the abundance of water are our thriving local dairy farms. Anna Lyness, a York junior, is this year’s Livingston County Dairy Ambassador. Representatives were formerly known as Dairy Princesses; however, the program changed the title this year in an effort to be more inclusive. Lyness has been involved with dairy farming since she was a small child. “My dad is a dairy farmer at Donnan Farms in York,” she said. “As a child, I would go look at the cows and calves; it always mesmerized me.” Becoming what was then a Dairy Princess quickly became a goal for Lyness. “When I was little, we would always be invited to the Dairy Princess coronations,” she recalled. “I would look up to the girls in their crowns. I wanted to be a Dairy Princess and wear a crown, too.” Joining what is now the Dairy Ambassador Program when she was about 10 years old, Lyness is thrilled to be this year’s Dairy Ambassador. “Being a Dairy Ambassador is a leadership position,” she explained. “We promote dairy and educate people about dairy products and the nutrients they provide for people both young and old. We teach, participate in parades, work with young children, and much more.” To Lyness, dairy education is very important. “I think living around farms opens your eyes,” she said. “We need our food, including our milk. There are 13 nutrients we get from dairy, and it is very important to get them three times a day. It is also very important for everyone to understand where dairy comes from.”

Anna Lyness, 2022-2023 Livingston County Dairy Ambassador. While Lyness still enjoys dairy farming and hopes to work at Donnan’s feeding calves, she plans to use a scholarship she received to attend a nursing program at Keuka. Lyness shared that the Dairy Ambassador Program will hold two local events during Dairy Month, during which they will give away product samples, promotional products, and more. These two events will be held on Saturday, June 11th from 10am-Noon at the Tops in Dansville, and Saturday, June 18th from 10am-Noon at the Tops in Avon, respectively. “Livingston County’s number one industry is agriculture, and I hope that never changes,” said Estes. “That is why agricultural education and agriculture in the classroom are so supported and necessary. Agriculture is uniquely positioned to help seek solutions in those areas of the county that are considered ‘food deserts’ as we look for ways to get locally grown food in the hands of those who need it most.” Clearly, the dairy industry will continue to lead in these efforts.

HOW CONSUMERS CAN SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES Continue to be loyal: A recent study from researchers at the Harvard Business School found that a customer’s eighth purchase was an average of 80 percent higher than his or her first purchase. That highlights just how valuable repeat customers are to small businesses. Consumers who have had positive experiences with small businesses in their communities in the past can continue to support those companies by looking to them first when they need new products or services. Doing so not only helps small businesses retain more customers, but it increases the likelihood that consumers will again have positive buying experiences.

DID YOU KNOW? Choking is a leading cause of unintentional death in infants. Young children not can choke on food as well as objects they put in their mouths while exploring the world around them. Parents of young children and hosts who intend to invite youngsters into their homes can learn how to respond when kids appear to be choking. The Mayo Clinic recommends the following approach when tending to children under the age of 1, which differs from the steps necessary to address choking instances in older children and adults.

· Thump the infant gently but firmly five times on the middle of the back using the heel of your hand. The combination of gravity and the back blows should release the blocking object. Keep your fingers pointed up to avoid hitting the infant in the back of the head. · Turn the infant face up on your forearm, resting on your thigh with the head lower than the trunk if the infant still isn’t breathing. Using two fingers placed at the center of the infant’s breastbone, give five quick chest compressions. Press down about 11/2 inches, and let the chest rise again in between each compression. · Repeat the back blows and chest thrusts if breathing doesn’t resume. Call for emergency medical help. · Begin infant CPR if one of these techniques opens the airway but the infant doesn’t resume breathing.
GRADUATION ETIQUETTE Handle limited seats with courtesy. Many schools limit the number of seats each student can reserve for guests. This can make it tricky when there are a number of people who are worthy of an invite. Explain to friends and family who you cannot invite that you would love to have them there but are restricted by ticket allotments. Try to have both sides of the family represented. Usually an invite to the after-party will thwart any hard feelings.

discovered she has a factor V mutation, everyone in the family decided to be tested as a precaution. This is a hereditary item, which I am sure you know. It was determined that I carry the gene. I am 65. I have had no issues, and it probably never would have been discovered if we did not go looking for it. This was discovered over 10 years ago and is listed on all my charts. I would like to donate plasma for extra money. I am not on any type of blood thinners except for a baby aspirin every morning. I take a statin for cholesterol control. Can I donate my plasma? -- S.S. ANSWER: Factor V is a blood clotting factor made in the liver. A common mutation in the gene, called factor V Leiden, confers a small increased risk to developing blood clots. People with factor V Leiden and who have never had a blood clot are generally not started on medication to prevent one; however, they may need more aggressive prophylactic treatment to prevent clot at a time of surgery, for example. Although some experts use aspirin in this situation, there is not good evidence to support it. People with factor V Leiden may donate blood, platelets or plasma safely, as long as they are not on an anticoagulant such as warfarin. Only a very few medicines prevent people from donating blood. In addition to anticoagulants, these include medicines that can cause serious birth defects (such as Accutane, used for acne; finasteride and dutasteride, used for prostate enlargement and baldness; and Aubagio, a treatment for multiple sclerosis) and those which might cause infection risk (human-derived growth hormone). ***

SENIOR NEWS By Matilda Charles How to Defend Against the Newest Scams They’re getting better at what they do, more sophisticated and slick ... scammers, that is. They’ve had lots of practice, and many are truly skilled, but what they all have in common is that they want your money and your information. Scams against seniors get worse by the year, and the pandemic hasn’t helped. Many of the current scams are COVID-related: A scammer will offer to send you a box of at-home test kits -- for a fee. A fake contact tracer will call and claim to need to know your Social Security number for identity purposes. Some will say that your latest doctor bill won’t be paid unless you give them your Medicare number. Others will claim to need your banking information so they can do a direct deposit of the stimulus money the government is sending you. Some are new for this year: Supposed Amazon employees will call or send email to warn you about a large purchase. Fake rental-assistance payment scammers will try to get your personal information. Far too many seniors are scammed each and every day. In 2020, seniors lost over $1 billion to fraud, with an average loss of over $9,000. But you can stop it for yourself and not be a victim. Feel free to be rude. Hang up on people who are likely scammers. Don’t even bother saying goodbye. Just slam the phone down. Delete emails that have any links without clicking on them. Don’t bother opening the door to people you don’t know. Use a black marker to cover the information on old pill bottles. Bonus Tip: Invest in a shredder. Look for one that does confetti cuts (small pieces instead of strips). Shred everything that has your name, address and account or credit card numbers. Even envelopes with your name and address can give clues to scammers. Shred them.
This week’s puzzle answer is elsewhere in this paper. The Crossword Puzzle is provided by Tribune Media Services. Any questions or comments should be made to 1-800-346-8798.

What is Wrong The United States should stop sending all these billions of dollars to other countries to help their war efforts. Next, it will be troops. We have too many places that need that money here for food, health care, jobs...I could go on and on. The idea is we need our tax dollars here. The government can’t take care of the Veterans we have now. (I know because I am a disabled Veteran.) I see all the time how we are taken care of. We should get rid of all the rich politicians and put middle class Americans in their jobs! Also, I just heard that the shooter from the Buffalo shooting pled not guilty. Come on! Let’s get real and call a murderer a murderer, and stop all the nonsense!
Some Things Never Change Some people forget the past. Those who believe that disarming a society makes everyone safer, I believe, are those people. When this country was founded, guns were used against the government at the time, which had become too powerful, and was trampling on the rights of its subjects. The founding of our country was, in part, because the right of the citizens to keep their government in check, was of utmost importance. Through the centuries, history has shown us that when a society is disarmed, they become subjects of the ruling class. The most recent example has been China, where they have subjected the population to the heavy fist of control. Even though our government has more powerful weapons than its citizens, we’ve also seen how a determined population can defend and beat back mighty military forces, as has happened in Afghanistan. I have never had any one of my firearms injure anyone on its own. If inanimate objects are the problem, best to get rid of cars and booze.

Save money and stay cool as temperatures rise Excessive energy bills can be a concern in spring and summer, just as much as they are in the winter. So how can you save money while keeping your home cool? The solution is simple: Top up your attic insulation. A poorly insulated attic is a primary source of energy loss, forcing your AC unit to work harder than necessary over the warmer months. Most attics are insulated, but oftentimes the amount of insulation present is inadequate - especially in older homes. Over time, insulation can settle and compact, allowing heat to escape through gaps. Topping it up is easy. Ideally, you want to aim for a depth of 16 inches of insulation for an overall R-value of 50. When existing insulation is present, simply level existing insulation to the top of the joist. Lay a fireand moisture-resistant batt insulation, like Roxul Comfortbatt, on top of joists, running perpendicular to the first layer. Ensure batts are butted against each other tightly. Fit batts closely to cross joists; cut batt if necessary (this can be done easily with a serrated blade or bread knife) and leave no space between layers. Don’t forget to insulate the attic hatch to the same level as the rest of the attic. Apply weather-stripping to the edge of the hatch to reduce air leakage. Keep in mind that only IC-rated electrical fixtures can have insulation placed with zero clearance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local building code to insulate around the chimney. When a house is insulated properly, energy savings can add up over time. Remember, insulation starts working the moment it is installed and can last for the life of the building. Make sure you choose the right ladder. DIYers may spend ample time shopping for drills and other electronic tools and gadgets that are fun to use. But ample time also must be afforded to the type of ladder you intend to use on a project. Estimates from the West Bend Insurance Company indicate that roughly 90,000 people visit the emergency room due to ladder accidents each year. Never use a broken ladder or an aging ladder that’s uneven. In addition, do not use a ladder that forces you to reach far away. If you’re leaning while using a ladder, the ladder is either too short for your project or positioned too far away from the wall. The National Home Security Alliance advises DIYers to place their ladder one foot from the wall for every four feet it rises above the ground. Test your ladders for their sturdiness prior to beginning work so you aren’t tempted to use a subpar ladder.

MOMENTS IN TIME * On June 14, 1789, English Captain William Bligh and 18 others, cast adrift from the HMS Bounty seven weeks before, reach the East Indies after traveling nearly 4,000 miles in a small open boat. On April 28, they were set adrift with 25 gallons of water, 150 pounds of bread, 30 pounds of pork, six quarts of rum and six bottles of wine. (The History Channel)

Gardeners Do the milkweed plants in my front perennial bed have any significant impact on monarch butterflies? I am trying to decide if I should keep or remove them. Thanks. I understand your angst. The number of monarchs is declining for several reasons, including habitat loss in central Mexico where they over-winter and summer habitat loss in the Midwest. There is a lot of talk about planting milkweed to help them out. But common field milkweed is not a very attractive plant, spreads invasively underground, and is difficult to remove. I wouldn’t want it in my front garden bed. One person’s milkweed plant probably doesn’t make a difference, but if many people plant it, it could make a difference over time. Common field milkweed, Asclepius syriaca, serves as both a preferred host plant (where these butterflies lay their eggs and larva/caterpillars feed) and a nectar source for adults. That’s why people encourage planting this specific plant.
from Cornell Cooperative Extension, Livingston County But Monarchs can use other types of milkweed in this region including Butterfly Weed (Asclepius Tuberosa), and Swamp Milkweed (Asclepius Incarnata). These two plants are much better suited for home gardens. They are more attractive and will not spread invasively like common milkweed. The article from the University of Vermont at the following link offers many details about monarchs and milkweed. https://pss.uvm.edu/ppp/articles/ monarch.html Our one-acre lawn is overrun with Creeping Charlie, and it is spreading daily. Is there a way to combat it without killing off the grass we’d like to save? Glechoma hederacea, better known as Creeping Charlie and ground ivy, is one of the most common and unfortunately hard to control lawn and garden weeds. A healthy lawn will help prevent creeping Charlie from getting established. Over-seeding bare spots in a lawn with an appropriate grass seed
will help crowd out the weed. Another strategy is to mow at a height of 3 inches. This allows grass to have healthier roots and blades as well as shade out weed seedlings. Hand weeding can be difficult and frustrating due to the fact that there are roots at many of the leaf nodes. If the soil is moist and you are careful to dig the roots, you will be more successful. Weeding them from garden beds is a lot easier. Removing them as soon as they show up is the key to success. A hoe, rake or dethatching tool can be helpful. If a herbicide is required, studies have shown that spring and fall are the best times to apply. More than a single season application may be needed. During the heat of the summer, plants are not growing as fast and not as susceptible to the effect of herbicides. These herbicides are directed at broadleaf plants, not grass, so are not likely useful in gardens or harmful to the grass. Lawn herbicides with multiple active ingredients are most effective against difficult to control weeds. Products that con-
tain triclopyr, such as Ortho Weed-B-Gon Chickweed, Clover and Oxalis Killer have proven effective. So has Ortho Weed-B-Gon Max plus Crabgrass Control with quinclorac. Other brand products are available. Read the label for listed controls and application directions. Some information from http://erie.cce.cornell.edu/ resources/article-42-creeping-charlie-may-2017

LAURA’S PET GROOMING Grooming By Appointment Only!
PAW’S CORNER By Sam Mazzotta

Look Into Crowdfunding to Rehome Inherited Pets
16 Bunnell Lane Dansville, NY
585-335-9380
DEAR PAW’S CORNER: I’m writing in regard to the person who “inherited” her relative’s pets but is unable to keep them. While directly posting the pets for adoption on social media may not be a good option for all of the reasons you previously listed, I do think there’s an opportunity for Sherrie to harness the reach of those platforms to raise the money she needs to get them rehomed properly and to cover their medical care. I’m continually amazed (and encouraged) by the kindness of strangers on GoFundMe pages for pets. -- Lauren P.
Penny Saver
Mr. Magoo
Hi, I am . I am a rescue from Mr. Gray’s Strays. I am very happy in my “furever” home.
Send us a photo and brief write-up of your pet and we’ll feature it. Email to: sales@gvpennysaver.com or mail to: P.O. Box 340, Avon, NY 14414. Pets will be published at discretion of GVPS.
HOUSEBREAKING PUPPIES How often a puppy will need to defecate depends on the food being fed and when meals are offered. The American Kennel Club says that most puppies will need to poop shortly after a meal, anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours. Puppies typically can hold urine a little longer overnight, but probably won’t be able to go the entire night without a potty break. Many pups can last around six hours from the last time they’ve gone out. An early-morning bathroom break will be needed, or consider penning the dog with puppy pads to catch the mess until the dog gains greater control over its bladder.
DEAR LAUREN: That’s certainly an option to cover the cost of their care. Crowdfunding is an increasingly popular way to quickly raise cash to cover pets’ medical needs and care needs. GoFundMe has dedicated a page with several ideas for pet funding: https://www.gofundme.com/c/fundraising-ideas/ pets, and there is even a pet-specific crowdfunding organization, Waggle: https://www.waggle.org, which helps owners raise money for pets’ medical procedures. To crowdfund a pet’s care and treatment, do plenty of research first. Look at active fundraisers to see what messages are effective and double-check the rules about pet fundraising at each crowdfunding site. To rehome a pet, there is at least one online resource that may be helpful. Adopt-A-Pet and Petco’s rehome service (https://rehome. adoptapet.com/) is a go-between service that helps owners connect with people who are looking to adopt. I still recommend that Sherrie contacts the local shelter to get information about rehoming or, if all else fails, surrendering the pets safely to the shelter. But the above options may be a great help as she hunts for new owners for her relative’s pets. Send your questions, tips or comments to ask@pawscorner.com. (c) 2022 King Features Synd., Inc.

NOW HERE’S A TIP By JoAnn Derson * Having a yard sale? Here’s a great way to put out extra signs when you don’t have a way to stake them into the ground: “Write your sign advertising your yard sale on the sides of a big box. Place it where you want it, and add a large rock to the inside, then tape shut. We did this when we had no poles to tape signs to or any other way to get them to stand up. It worked really well!” -- D.R. in Georgia * Avoid calling the pediatrician’s office on Monday mornings for routine business. Wait until the afternoon. All the parents with mildly sick children over the weekend will be calling to consult with the doctor and nurses first thing when the office opens. * If you drop an egg, sprinkle with salt before you attempt to clean it up. The salt binds the whites, which will not spread, making pickup easier! * “My kids had kind of an obsession with colorful Duck tape in the past year, and we made some “beach bags” to keep our electronics safe at the pool, lake and beach. We carefully covered a variety of sizes of zipper-top self-sealing bags with the tape, creating tough, colorful pouches in which we can store cellphones, etc., to keep them safe from water damage.” -- W.L. in North Carolina * You can sharpen scissors by cutting folded aluminum foil into small strips. * The best time of day to water your lawn is the evening. The cooler temperatures allow the water to sink into the soil instead of evaporating with the heat of the day. Always follow your city or county guidelines on watering times for your area.

WAYS TO ENJOY MORE DAIRY Sprinkle on some cheese. Cheese has less lactose than other dairy products, making it easier on the stomach for those who may have issues consuming dairy. Consider sprinkling some parmesan cheese on an apple or popcorn for an afternoon snack, or have an ounce of cheddar with a small portion of nuts for calcium and protein.

POINTERS ON MOVING TO A NEW HOME BY RENTAL TRUCK (NAPSI)—Moving yourself to a new home by renting a truck can be easier than you may realize, if you heed these five facts and tips. • Know when to go. When planning your trip, take into account the time of day you intend to travel and likely traffic patterns. Always leave lots of extra time and be aware of possible bottlenecks along the way.

• Understand the agreement. Most truck rental agreements say something like the language from the U.S. Department of Transportation that prohibits the “carrying or hauling of explosives and other dangerous articles.” That means you can’t pack paint, chemicals and cleaning materials, flammable solvents, propane, gasoline and the like. Check with your rental agent if you’re not sure about a particular item. • Know the “No-Zone.” Trucks have big blind spots, what the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration calls the “No-Zone.” You should know where these areas are, explain the experts on truck rental at Penske, especially when changing lanes or coming to a stop.

• Be up on your truck. Make sure you can find and understand all the truck’s switches and gauges. Adjust the seat and side mirrors so they match your height and comfort zone. Also, remember, trucks are taller, wider and may weigh up to 10 times more than the average car, so you have to be extra vigilant.
CHALLENGES OF GOING REMOTE WITH YOUR BUSINESS COMMUNICATION: Communication issues between remote workers can be an easy fix. Even businesses that are facing sudden and forced transitions to remote workerplaces can utilize instant messaging apps like Slack to facilitate immediate communication between employees. This can drive greater efficiency and promote the sense of community among staff that many companies are proud to have fostered.
• Look into insurance. Most insurance and credit card companies won’t cover truck rentals under existing policies. If your insurance company is among them, consider signing up for additional coverage to protect yourself and your belongings. You may feel more confident knowing there is a company that offers free 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. Dishes that include longer ingredient lists typically require more legwork in the kitchen, which usually involves additional prep steps and sometimes longer cook times. Plus, you’re more likely to already have the necessities on-hand for recipes that call for 5-10 ingredients rather than lengthy lists.

Buy pre-cut vegetables to trim time spent on prep work. One of the processes that can surprisingly consume more time than you realize is cutting, chopping and dicing veggies prior to even really diving into a recipe’s instructions. If you’d still prefer prepping your own fresh produce, try completing your work the night before when it doesn’t interfere with quality time spent with family.

Email resume to: Jeffwasson@gvpennysaver.com Or mail to: Jeff Wasson, Production Supervisor, Penny Lane Printing, PO Box 340, Avon, NY 14414. OR stop in at 1471 Route 15 and fill out application.
BRAIN-HEALTHY HABITS TO EMBRACE Cognitive decline is a condition that is often associated with aging, but even middle-aged people can experience memory loss or cognition issues. The Alzheimer’s Association says that more than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. By 2050, that number could rise to as high as 16 million people. More than 747,000 Canadians are living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, says the Canadian Alzheimer’s Association. Although there is no definitive way to prevent dementia, living a long, vibrant life may be possible by encouraging some healthy habits for the brain. It is never too late or too early to begin health and lifestyle changes. Exercise: Becoming more active can improve brain volume, reduce risk for dementia and improve thinking and memory skills. The journal Neurology found that older people who vigorously exercise performed better on cognitive tests than others of the same age, placing them at the equivalent of 10 years younger. Increased blood flow that occurs with physical activity may help generate new neurons in the hippocampus, an area of the brain involved with learning and memory. The Harvard Medical School says aerobic exercise may help improve brain tissue by improving blood flow and reducing the chances of injury to the brain from cholesterol buildup in blood vessels. Quit smoking: The Alzheimer’s Association indicates that evidence shows smoking increases the risk of cognitive decline. Smoking can impair blood flow to the brain and cause small strokes that may damage blood vessels. Eat healthy foods: Foods that are good for the heart and blood vessels also are good for the brain. These include fresh fruits and vegetables,
whole grains, fish-based proteins, unsaturated fats, and foods containing omega-3 fatty acids. Neurologists state that, while research on diet and cognitive function is limited, diets, such as Mediterranean and Mediterranean-DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), may contribute to a lower risk of cognitive issues. Consume caffeine: Caffeine may help boost memory performance and brain health. A Journal of Nutrition study found people ages 70 and older who consumed more caffeine scored better on tests of mental function than those who consumed less caffeine. Caffeine may help improve attention span, cognitive function and feelings of well-being. Information from Psychology Today also indicates caffeine may help in the storage of dopamine, which can reduce feelings of depression and anxiety. In addition, compounds in cocoa and coffee beans may improve vascular health and help repair cellular damage due to high antioxidant levels. Work the brain: Engaging in mentally stimulating activities can create new brain connections and more backup circuits, states Dr. Joel Salinas, a neurologist at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital. Working the brain through puzzles, reading and participating in social situations can stimulate the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a molecule essential for repairing brain cells and creating connections between them. A good way to combine these lifestyle factors is to take an exercise class with friends, mixing the social, stimulation and exercise recommendations together. Cognitive decline can come with aging, but through healthy habits, people can reduce their risk of memory loss and dementia.

Personalize your connections. The days of sharing a post-work drink with a colleague may be over. But networking in the digital age need not be impersonal. When using professional networking sites such as LinkedIn, personalize the messages you send to other professionals when inviting them to join your network. Use the message to briefly introduce yourself and explain your connection before explaining why you want the person to become part of your network. Welcome any questions and warmly thank them for their time. This personal touch can make you stand out in a digital sea of people, many of whom simply want to add other professionals to their network without necessarily making genuine connections.

HOW TO NEGOTIATE (AND GET) A SALARY INCREASE Salaries in the workplace have long been a hot-button issue for women. The differences in compensation for males and females continues to draw the attention of politicians and gender equality advocates alike. The United States Department of Labor noted that, in 2015, the median weekly earnings for fulltime male workers increased by 2.2 percent from the year prior. During that same period, female earnings increased by just 0.8 percent. That latest data marks the third consecutive quarter that the increase in males’ earnings doubled that of females. On average, women who work fulltime earn 81.1 cents for every dollar men earn. Women aware of that unfair gap in pay may feel helpless to address it with their bosses out of fear of being seen as unappreciative or selfish. In fact, addressing compensation makes many workers uncomfortable, regardless of their gender. According to a salary survey from PayScale, almost 60 percent of male and female workers do not ask for a raise. Negotiating salary increases requires finesse, timing and being informed. It also requires a certain measure of gumption.
PRESSMAN Full-time Position: The ideal candidate will be detail-orientated, motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment. We have cold-set half web presses. Full benefits, training and uniform included. Pay commensurate with experience.

RÉSUMÉ WRITING RULES TO FOLLOW Be brief yet effective A concise design is key. Many recruiters spend little to no time reviewing the hordes of résumés they receive. In fact, automated résumé bots may initially screen the documents to thin the crowd. According to data from the 12th annual Mystery Job Candidate survey by CareerXRoads, the average recruiter spends six seconds looking at a résumé. If a résumé is lengthy or doesn’t attract attention, it will likely be ignored. Stick to a single-page and make sure wording is brief but meaty.

It was Dr. Witte’s curiosity and desire to help people that led him down the path to medicine. Thirty-five years after joining Tri-County Family Medicine in 1987, he’s still listening carefully to his patients so that together the doctor and patient can develop the best care and treatment plans. While Dr. Witte chose Tri-County because he was impressed with our commitment to quality and continuous improvement, our team continues to be impressed with Dr. Witte’s genuine care and concern for all of his colleagues, as well as for his patients. Dr. Witte has been dedicated to this community beyond seeing patients at Tri-County. He has served as the Medical Director of the Livingston County Hospice since 1992 and has been involved with Noyes Memorial Hospital since 1987.
Thank you, Dr. Witte, for your service and leadership. You will be missed by our patients, staff, and community.
