Playing with food: Grilling does not require much intervention. Repeatedly flipping and squeezing meat and poultry can cause flavorful juices to leak out. Then you’re left with dried-out food. Resist any urges to prod and poke food. And minimize how many times you lift the grill cover to take a peek, as that can cause temperatures to fluctuate. Use a thermometer to determine when food is done. And don’t forget that meat will still cook a bit after it’s taken off the grill.

HOW EVERYDAY CITIZENS CAN PROTECT LOCAL PARKS

Pet Place ____________________27

Leave nothing behind. Memories are not the only things park visitors should take with them when they leave the park. Estimates suggest that as much as 100 million pounds of garbage are generated at California’s Yosemite National Park each year. Significant damage can result if even a tiny fraction of that garbage is left behind. In addition, park officials forced to expend their limited resources on garbage pickup may not have enough resources left to address other issues, further threatening the park. Whether you’re hiking or camping, make sure everything you take into the park comes with you when you leave. If you have trash, make sure it’s deposited into the appropriate receptacles.

Though office work might not be the first profession individuals think of in relation to elevating one’s cancer risk, sitting at a desk for most of the day can increase a person’s risk for cancer. According to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, sitting for most of the day without engaging in physical activity puts individuals at increased risk for cancer. How much extra risk does that entail? Though no two individuals are the same, studies have equated sitting for eight hours a day without any physical activity to the risk posed by obesity and smoking. The DFCI notes that sitting over long periods of time has been known to cause increased blood pressure, high cholesterol and excess body fat around the waist, each of which have been identified as factors that increase a person’s risk for cancer.

Can gas go bad? Yes it can, the lighter, more volatile components of gasoline evaporate over time. Old gas can compromise engine performance, potentially causing a car to hesitate or stall. Gas that has gone bad can begin to smell like varnish. To determine if gas smells differently, drivers should remove the gas cap and stand next to the car where you would normally put the gas pump. If you detect an aroma of varnish, then the gas has likely gone bad. Gas can begin to go bad in as little as three months, so drivers who haven’t driven much over that period may have bad gas in their tanks. One way drivers can combat bad gas, even if they aren’t driving much, is to add fuel stabilizer when filling up the tank. Fuel stabilizer keeps gas from degrading, but it’s only effective if it is mixed with good gasoline, hence the reason to add it when filling up and not when you detect the gas already in the car has gone bad.

* If you’re traveling with pets, you know you’ll need to bring something for them to drink out of. If you have ice in a container, they can lick the ice to stay hydrated, but it doesn’t slosh around or spill easily. * “Cutting corn off the cob can be tricky business, but you only need to recruit the right equipment. The next time you’re making corn for dinner, grab a Bundt pan. The corn cob gets set upright in the center, and when you cut down, the kernels fall right into the pan on all sides.” -- A.S. in Texas * “If you have trouble holding your cat still to clip its claws, sneak up while it’s asleep. You might get only a couple done before your cat catches on and wriggles away, but you’ll get there.” -- P.L. in Oklahoma (Slow and steady wins the race, P.L. Your tip works great for babies, too! -- JoAnn) * Skunk run-in? Try this mix before you buy pricey de-stink shampoos at the pet store. Mix a quart of 3% peroxide, a teaspoon or two of dish soap, 1/4 cup of baking soda and quart of room-temperature water. Apply to pet, and work deeply into the fur. Massage in for five minutes, and rinse thoroughly. * Boiling potatoes? Plants love starch. Let your cooking water cool, then use it to water the plants in your garden.

SHADE-TOLERANT PLANTS COMPLETE LANDSCAPES Plants need sunlight to thrive and grow, but some need less sunlight than others. People who find their landscapes are less supportive to sun-loving plants can choose from a variety of shade-tolerant plants, shrubs and trees. Shade tolerance refers to a plant’s ability to withstand low levels of light. Certain plants have adapted this feature to survive in the wild. Plants that grow at the base of forest floors, for example, will get less sunlight than others outside of the tree canopy. Such adaptations enable a wide variety of foliage to grow even though they are not exposed to much sunlight. While sun-loving plants often have broad leaves and expend significant energy to capture sunlight for photosynthesis, shade-tolerant plants expend less energy and tend to be more efficient consumers of soil nutrients and sunlight. Penn State Extension’s Plant and Pests division says the amount of shade a plant is growing under will directly affect the density of the foliage and the plant’s flowering and fruiting characteristics. Blending shade-tolerant plants into the landscape can be an effective use of space. Before choosing plants for an existing landscape, it’s important to assess the level of shade or sun the plants will receive. Once homeowners understand which type of shade they are dealing with, they can then visit plant nurseries and select their plants. Most greenery comes with care instructions that include recommendations regarding the amount of shade/sunlight the plant will need to do well. If further assistance is needed, a knowledgeable employee can make suggestions based on landscape needs. Shade-tolerant plants can make welcome additions to the landscape, offering greenery and color in the darker areas of a property. GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

HOME HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

STAY COOL THIS SUMMER WHILE LIMITING ENERGY CONSUMPTION

HOW TO CLEAN AND PREPARE OUTDOOR FURNITURE FOR THE SEASON

Embrace strategic landscaping. The landscaping outside of a home can contribute to cooler climates inside the home. Deciduous trees shed their leaves annually, and when planted on the western and southern sides of a home, these trees can block the sun from entering the home during the hottest times of day, reducing the need to lower the thermostat on air conditioners. Of course, when these trees shed their leaves in late fall, sunlight can then make its way into the home, potentially reducing heating costs.

Commercial cleansers may be too harsh to use on plastic resin furniture. Before risking discoloration or scratching, try some ingredients that are may be lying around the house. For example, use a wet sponge dipped in baking soda as a mild abrasive to clean resin. Just be sure to thoroughly rinse off the powdery residue afterward. Automatic dishwasher detergent mixed with a gallon of warm water also may do the trick. The detergent contains a mild bleaching agent that will not cause damage like straight bleach.

Save money and stay cool as temperatures rise Excessive energy bills can be a concern in spring and summer, just as much as they are in the winter. So how can you save money while keeping your home cool? The solution is simple: Top up your attic insulation. A poorly insulated attic is a primary source of energy loss, forcing your AC unit to work harder than necessary over the warmer months. Most attics are insulated, but oftentimes the amount of insulation present is inadequate - especially in older homes. Over time, insulation can settle and compact, allowing heat to escape through gaps. Topping it up is easy. Ideally, you want to aim for a depth of 16 inches of insulation for an overall R-value of 50. When existing insulation is present, simply level existing insulation to the top of the joist. Lay a fire- and moisture-resistant batt insulation on top of joists, running perpendicular to the first layer. Ensure batts are butted against each other tightly. Fit batts closely to cross joists; cut batt if necessary (this can be done easily with a serrated blade or bread knife) and leave no space between layers. Don’t forget to insulate the attic hatch to the same level as the rest of the attic. Apply weather-stripping to the edge of the hatch to reduce air leakage. Keep in mind that only IC-rated electrical fixtures can have insulation placed with zero clearance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local building code to insulate around the chimney. When a house is insulated properly, energy savings can add up over time. Remember, insulation starts working the moment it is installed and can last for the life of the building.

‘BREATHE EASIER’ HEALTHCARE DONATION PROGRAM (NAPSI)—Healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic are in desperate need of creative solutions to the lack of personal protective gear and supplies that help block harmful airborne pathogens. But civic-minded companies can help. For example, NasalGuard Airborne Particle Blocker, an electrostatic topical nasal gel that prevents airborne particles from entering the nose, created the “Breathe Easier Healthcare Workers Donation Program.” The firm offers free nasal gel to any healthcare professional who’d like to try it. Requests can be sent via www.NasalGuard.com. “NasalGuard is drug-free and safe for children, the elderly, pregnant or nursing women, and those concerned about potential drug interactions with other medications,” says Kanika Wahi, a biomedical engineer and co-inventor of the micriofiltration technology. “As people take protective measures to help themselves during this time, NasalGuard is another tool in their arsenal of prevention. We at NasalGuard are proud to support the frontline healthcare workers as well as anyone else in need of preventative products.” The company has long believed in giving back and has donated thousands of units of NasalGuard Airborne Particle Blocker nationally and internationally through a number of well-known charitable organizations.

SENIOR NEWS By Matilda Charles The Local Food Bank Needs Your Help If you’re on the other side of the fence -- able to donate to the food bank rather than visiting to use its services -- your local pantry can surely use your help. Running them is more complicated and expensive than it might seem! The food bank in my town gets most of its food from the main supplier in the state, which gets its support from philanthropists, business partners, manufacturers, producers, farmers and donors of both food and money. It then distributes food and supplies to the local food banks. The local food bank has to pay for what it receives, of course, with its own supply of cash donors and town support. In addition, there are local businesses that donate leftover breads and bakery items, farmers that bring in fresh produce and frozen meat, and folks in town who donate both cash and food. What food banks typically need: canned vegetables, fruit, soup, stews and beans; pasta, peanut butter and jelly; tuna, cereals and personal-care items like toothpaste and soap. But there are specialty items they need as well, things that are hard for the food banks to get: pet food and lactose-free milk, for example, that are very important to those who need them. (I’ve made it my goal to try to provide some of these items to the food bank each month.) If you’re in a position to help, search online for your local food bank to see what it currently needs, or make a phone call. Ask if it posts on a website or Facebook page. Your best bet, however, might be to donate money. Most food banks have more purchasing power at the store than we do; their dollar goes much further because they don’t pay retail. And they can use those dollars to target the specific needs of their clientele. Ask! (c) 2022 King Features Synd., Inc.

PAW’S CORNER By Sam Mazzotta

‘Hip Hold’ Is No Way to Stretch Your Dog DEAR PAW’S CORNER: My wife likes to pick up our dog’s hind legs to help him stretch; that is, she holds Cheerio by the hips so his hind legs are up off the ground while he stands on his front legs. I thought I read once that this is not good and strains the dog’s joints or back or something. Your advice would be appreciated. -- Zina J. DEAR ZINA: The “hip hold” is a safety grip to pull your dog away from a fight with another dog. It’s not a hold that should be forced or held for long periods. Stretching should be performed by owners when the dog’s joints are not weighted -- meaning the dog should not be standing or leaning on the leg being stretched. Holding Cheerio up by his hindquarters and forcing him to brace on his front legs puts him at greater risk for injury. It can cause great pain in older dogs with arthritis. If your wife would truly like to keep Cheerio’s joints healthy and improve his overall circulation and well-being, there are some great safe stretching methods, and safe massage techniques as well. Here’s a YouTube video of safe dog stretching exercises by a veterinary therapist: tinyurl.com/4ay7sfjc. Notice that at no point does the therapist stretch a joint that the dog is standing on -- they are all unweighted stretches. Dogs also stretch themselves frequently, especially when getting up after a long nap. Don’t try to assist their natural stretching -- dogs stretch in a way that’s comfortable for them. Therapeutic stretching and massage are designed to help facilitate a dog’s natural movement without placing stress on the joints. If you have more questions about your dog’s mobility, talk with the vet at his next checkup. Send your tips, questions or comments to ask@pawscorner.com. (c) 2022 King Features Synd., Inc.

585-335-9380 RECOGNIZE SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE IN DOGS Can heat stroke be prevented? Though dogs can suffer heat stroke even on mild days, dog owners can take precautionary measures. • Alter routines. Walking can be great exercise for dogs, but on hot days dog owners can walk their dogs when temperatures tend to be at their most mild, such as in the early morning hours or evenings when the sun is setting or has already set. • Limit play time. Dogs generate heat when playing and exercising, and their body temperatures may rise considerably on hot summer days. To reduce dogs’ risk of heat stroke, limit play time on hot days. • Don’t travel with dogs. Temperatures can be unbearable inside vehicles, so dog owners should not take their dogs along when running errands on hot days.

To the couple in a [local town] convenience store who were concerned that a dog was left alone inside a car: you looked as you walked by, but with shaded windows you couldn’t see inside. You even went into the store, and an employee asked around about who owns the car. My wife told her I was inside. I was sitting in the back seat with our pet. THANK YOU, to the couple and the store employee, for taking the initiative.

Stupid Idea On this morning’s news was the report of another mass shooting in a school in Texas. It was suggested by someone, who I believe must have stock in one of the gun-producing companies, that teachers carry guns. Great. That means that there would be more guns that can fall into the hands of someone who should never have access to a gun, such as the young man who killed all those children and teachers in Texas. I wish that there would never be another incident like what was on the news, but if it should happen again, it might prove to be best if all the victims were family members of those who are against gun control. Maybe that would change their thinking on the need for even greater gun control measures than have ever yet been presented to Congress. Public Obscenity The 1st Amendment states that obscenity is not protected under the rights to free speech. No one has a right to tell everyone in society, regardless of age, to f*** off! Little children are being forced to believe this is acceptable? Come on, folks. Speak up! Call your town’s supervisor and demand action. It is a community that sets the standard according to the federal obscenity laws, so let’s unite and set a better standard for our community. Our town has an ordinance against marijuana sales. We can do the same thing for vulgar, profane displays in yards. Remember the frog in the frying pan? We are not so desensitized that we accept being told [this] every time we drive down our main road, are we? The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing, but you can do something. Please speak up!

The founders feared a standing army would present a clear and present danger to individual liberty: in other words, government tyranny. Guns are a necessary fabric to the security of a free state. Stereotyping I was taught stereotyping is morally and ethically wrong. I still believe that. Why is stereotyping in the media acceptable, and nobody seems to speak out? With a population of 300 million plus, Police Officers nationwide are “walking on eggshells” because of a few bad cops. Now, because one individual carrying out a horrific hate crime, [many] across our country are being stereotyped as racist and supremacist. In both examples, these crimes have been horrific and carried out by bad individuals. We need to stop the stereotyping all around. Stereotyping makes relations worse.

(585) 728-2100 General eulogy preparation tips: * Eulogies are for the living, and for everyone at a remembrance service. * Be brief. People listen for three to five minutes. After five minutes, people stop listening. * Do a bit of research. Talk to others. What are some childhood memories? Was there a favorite lesson learned? Was there a favorite quote or an inspiring song? What was the deceased like at work? What were some favorite accomplishments? * Write out the eulogy. Even if you are an experienced speaker, during the emotional time of a rememberance service it is especially easy to wander. * Write and speak from the heart. Be yourself. * Practice the eulogy. Time it. Rehearse in front of an audience (one or two people). Listen to their feedback. Edit. Practice again. * Have a back-up plan. In case you are unable to begin or finish, have someone else prepared to deliver the eulogy for you.

MAKE HIS FIRST FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL

GRADUATION ETIQUETTE

Create a first-year memory book. Take the time to put together a scrapbook of the photos and moments baby and Dad have gotten to spend together. So much focus is often placed on a new baby and his or her mother that Dad may be left playing second fiddle. Make it clear that fathers are key to their children’s development and happiness, too.

Formal invites translate to gifts. Anyone who receives an invitation is obligated to give the graduate a gift. Give grads their gifts in person, even if you cannot attend the ceremony. If you live far away and won’t be in attendance, arrange for the gift to arrive as close to the ceremony date as possible.

DID YOU KNOW? Data from the United States Department of Justice indicates that partner violence accounted for 20 percent of all violent crime in the U.S. in 2018. The World Health Organization defines intimate partner violence as behavior within an intimate relationship that causes physical, sexual or psychological harm. Such violence can include acts of physical aggression, sexual coercion, psychological abuse, and controlling behaviors. Violence perpetrated by both current and former spouses and partners falls under the umbrella of intimate partner violence. Domestic violence is so prevalent that the National Network to End Domestic Violence reports that it fields more than 19,000 calls on a typical day. Anyone who is a victim of domestic violence or suspects a loved one or acquaintance is being abused is urged to call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 (SAFE) or 1-800-7873224 (TTY) right away.

FUN WAYS TO KEEP KIDS OCCUPIED OVER SUMMER BREAK Reading: Parents may be surprised by how much their children enjoy a good book. A recent poll from the National Education Association found that 70 percent of middle school students read more than 10 books a year. The National Literacy Trust reports that roughly 45 percent of children between the ages of eight and 11 enjoy reading “very much.” When suggesting to children that they read more this summer, parents can note the many ways that reading for pleasure differs from reading for school. Point out that kids won’t have to submit book reports and emphasize that they can choose their own books. Depending on children’s ages, introduce kids to a series like “Harry Potter,” which is a set of seven fantasy novels that has helped millions of young people across the globe discover and develop a fondness for reading. Weekly visits to the library, where kids can pick from hundreds of books, can get youngsters even more excited about reading.

THINK TICKS! Ticks spread disease. Take steps to protect yourself and your family. HOW TO AVOID TICKS • Wear light-colored clothing to spot ticks easily. • Wear enclosed shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Tuck pant legs into socks or boots and shirt into pants. • Check clothes and skin often for ticks while outdoors. • Use insect repellent. • Walk on cleared, well-traveled trails. Walk in the center of trails. Avoid dense woods and bushy areas. • Bathe or shower within 2 hours after going indoors (to wash off and easily find ticks.) • Do a full-body tick check at the end of the day and remove ticks right away

HOW TO REMOVE A TICK • Using fine tipped tweezers, grasp the tick near mouthparts as close to skin as possible. • Pull tick in an upward, steady motion away from skin. • Clean the bite site with soap and water, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide. • Record date and location of tick bite. If a rash or flu-like symptoms appear, contact your health care provider as soon as possible. The risk of Lyme disease is lower if the tick is removed within 24-36 hours. FREE TICK REMOVAL KITS available to Livingston County residents (limited supply) For more information about tick borne diseases, please call or visit:

Ways to Become More Active Every Day In addition to working toward at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week, it’s important to avoid being sedentary, when possible. You can do that by making choices that build activity in your day. Some examples include: • Taking the stairs • Printing to the printer farthest away from your desk at work • Getting off the bus or subway one stop early • Parking in the farthest space from the door • Walking around while you are on the phone or having walking meetings

DID YOU KNOW? According to the Environmental Protection Agency, air currents can carry pesticides that were applied to nearby properties. That means even people who do not apply pesticides in their lawns and gardens can still be at risk of exposure to these potentially harmful chemicals. People concerned by the prospect of being exposed to the pesticides being applied by their neighbors can stay indoors with their children and pets while the substances are being applied. Those who live near fields and parks where pesticides are routinely applied can plant hardy, thick-branched trees to reduce their risk of airborne exposure. The EPA notes that such plants and shrubs can serve as buffers against airborne pesticides, essentially acting as walls around a property that prevent gusty winds from blowing pesticides into yards and gardens.

TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH By Keith Roach, M.D.

What Is the Optimal Blood Pressure?

FUN WAYS TO KEEP KIDS OCCUPIED OVER SUMMER BREAK Find something free: Play dates are a great way to make kids happy and take a little off of parents’ daily plates. Arrange routine summer play dates with children’s school friends, neighbors and/or cousins. Parents can alternate hosting responsibilities so they can get work done at home and enjoy a break when it’s not their turn to host.

---

DEAR DR. ROACH: I read that high blood pressure is 140/90, but I thought 120/70 was optimal. Has the standard number increased? – D.M.I. ANSWER: The “pressure” in “blood pressure” is given in millimeters of mercury. It is a measurement of the pressure inside large blood vessels, first at its peak during the left ventricle squeezing (the systolic, or top number) and then at its lowest, right before the ventricle starts squeezing again (diastolic, or bottom number). Both of these numbers are important, and they provide important information about the physiology of the heart and blood vessels, as well as provide prognostic information about the risk of heart attack and stroke. In general, for healthy people, the higher the numbers, the greater the risk. The optimum blood pressure for health is about 110/70, but there are some people with lower values who are also very healthy and who have very low risk for vascular disease. Risk for heart disease starts to go up more significantly at about 140/90, but above a systolic number of 160, the risk goes up even more dramatically. The trend in blood pressure control over recent years has been toward making the blood pressure closer to the optimum, as long as treatment is well-tolerated. Having a slightly lower risk of heart attack may not be worth it to a person who has significant symptoms from blood pressure medicines. Fortunately, blood pressure is much easier to control than it used to be with better medications and with non-drug treatments, such as stress reduction, healthy diet, regular moderate exercise and, for some people, salt restriction. ***

The cry of our heart is to know God and make Him known.

Trevor Price, Senior Pastor pastor@heartcry.church www.facebook.com/heartcrychristianfellowship 7609 County Road 36 • Naples, NY 14512 hccf.church@gmail.com • 585-374-5310 CREATIVE WAYS FOR SMALL TOWN RESIDENTS TO GIVE BACK Giving back to one’s community is a great way for men and women to make use of their talents and foster strong towns and cities. Volunteering opportunities abound in big cities, but small town residents may not have as many options as they look for ways to give back. Small town residents looking to give back may need to create their own opportunities if the options available to them do not suit their fancies. Contact local schools. Teachers, afterschool caregivers and coaches can always use some helping hands. Contact local schools to determine if there is any way to help out. Prospective volunteers might be able to read to young children, serve as assistant coaches for youngsters’ sports teams or even help tend to playing fields. Small town school budgets tend to be stretched thin, so chances are local educators will welcome citizens looking to pitch in with open arms. Start a program through your place of employment. Another way for small town residents to give back to their communities is to begin a mentoring or internship program through their places of employment. Once their employers give the go-ahead, men and women can begin working with local high schools and/or colleges to develop programs that encourage youngsters to gain professional experience that can benefit them as they apply to college or graduate school or prepare to begin their own careers. Start a volunteering group. Small town residents without much access to volunteering programs can organize groups through their offices or neighborhoods. Organize groups willing to pitch in with charities such as Habitat for Humanity®. Group leaders can arrange transportation to work sites for members of the group while working as liaisons between their community groups and the organizations they choose to work with. Work with area hospitals. Similar to school districts, many hospitals would struggle to meet their missions of providing compassionate care if not for the contributions of volunteers. Contact area hospitals to learn about volunteering. Some may need volunteers to read to sick children, while others may need help keeping elderly patients company. Small town residents may not have a wealth of volunteering opportunities at their disposal. But with a little creativity, such men and women can still give back to their communities. Page 35

Brief breaks during the work day can dramatically improve one’s ability to focus on a task. A 2011 study published in the journal Cognition found that brief mental breaks can improve focus on a prolonged task. The study’s authors tested participants’ ability to focus on a repetitive computerized task for 50 minutes under various conditions. The control group performed the task without breaks or diversions. The switch group and non-switch group memorized four digits before performing the task and were directed to respond if they saw one of the digits on the screen while performing the task. The switch group was the only group to be presented with the digits twice during the experiment, and both groups were tested on their memory of the digits at the end of the task. Most participants’ performance declined considerably over the course of the 50-minute task. However, the performance of those in the switch group did not decline at all, as the two brief breaks to respond to the digits allowed them to maintain their focus throughout the experiment. The researchers behind the study concluded that the switch group’s performance was steady because the brain is built to detect and respond to change, and its performance will actually suffer if it must maintain prolonged attention on a single task without taking a break. Professionals with a lot on their plates may see their performance improve by taking frequent mental breaks throughout the workday.

WORKING PARENTS CAN CREATE BETTER WORK-LIFE BALANCE Many working parents struggle to maintain a healthy balance between their responsibilities at work and their obligations to their families. An inability to maintain that healthy balance can have adverse effects on men and women’s careers as well as the relationships they have with their families. A 2015 survey of more than 2,000 adults commissioned by the workplace solution provider Workfront found that 38 percent of survey participants have missed life events because of a bad work-life balance. Access to technology that means work is never too far away might contribute to poor work-life balance, as 57 percent of respondents also acknowledged feeling that technology has ruined the definition of a family dinner. Finding a healthy balance between work and life at home may require a concerted effort on the part of working parents, but there are ways to successfully juggle a career and family.

GVPENNYSAVER.COM GET A HANDLE ON WORK-RELATED STRESS Work-related stress is an all too common problem in workplaces across the globe. According to the American Institute of Stress, 80 percent of workers report feeling stress on the job. Perhaps most troubling, nearly half of those people admit they need help in learning how to manage their stress. The American Psychological Association notes that stressful work environments can contribute to a host of physical problems, including headache, sleep disturbances and short temper. Chronic stress can produce more serious consequences such as high blood pressure while also weakening sufferers’ immune systems. Stress at the workplace also can make it difficult to concentrate, which in turn can compromise workers’ abilities to perform at the peak of their abilities. That supports the notion that stress is a problem for both employees and employers. As a result, finding ways to reduce that stress should be a team effort. Getting a handle on stress can be difficult. Since so many people trace their stress to the jobs they need to get by, they might think it’s impossible to address that stress without derailing their careers. But there ways for professionals to get a handle on their stress without negatively affecting their careers.
