This move was unexpected, unplanned and painfully difficult for us and our entire staff. We really enjoyed the short time we conducted business from the 1260 Rochester St., Lima, NY location but unfortunately the building was sold this past September and our lease was not renewed. We investigated other commercial rental opportunities within the Honeoye Falls - Lima area but after much consideration we have opted to move the Honeoye Falls H&R Block into the same building as the Avon H&R Block office at 5552 East Avon Plaza, Avon, NY 14414. We will still be operating independently with our own entrance and parking at the rear of the building. We were able to move our existing telephone and fax numbers to this new location. We are still in the process of setting up furniture, computers and network systems but we will be ready to serve you with the same staff and consideration we always have by the upcoming tax season. To apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this move may cause you, we would like to offer you a $20.00 discount towards your 2018 Income Tax Return as a thank you for continuing to be a loyal client. Thank You, Lew Ann Reshnyk , Dawn Every, Karen Durkee, Peggy Durkee, Nelson Mastin
$20 Off Tax Preparation

Could Abdominal Migraine Cause Cyclic Vomiting?
--DEAR DR. ROACH: My son started having gastrointestinal problems in high school. Approximately three years ago, they became so intense that he couldn’t work. Last May, he finally had surgery for gastric reflux. This helped with the persistent vomiting, but he is still experiencing intractable nausea. After a year of tests and trials of every anti-nausea medication known, he finally was told that he has cyclic vomiting syndrome. He also was told, basically, “We don’t know how to treat it.” He currently is on a trial of a tricyclic antidepressant, but wasn’t given much hope that it would help. Could you suggest any possible treatment? He is only 28, and I can’t imagine him living with this and not being able to work or participate in life forever after. -- M.S. ANSWER: Cyclic vomiting syndrome is best described in children, but is certainly described in adults. It is called “cyclic” because there are periods of multiple vomiting episodes (lasting from one day to a week) interspersed with periods of completely normal health. Children have 12 cycles per year on average, while adults have four. CVS has been associated with migraine headaches, and treatment for migraines is sometimes successful in treating CVS, so it’s possible CVS represents a variant of abdominal migraine. CVS is a difficult diagnosis to make, as it can be easily confused with other causes of recurrent vomiting. Both children and adults often go a long time with incorrect diagnoses, sometimes getting surgeries, like your son did. Treatment should be administered by a clinician experienced in this condition, and unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case with your son. In one series, 3 in 17 adults with CVS had a complete response to tricyclic antidepressants, but 13 had at least some response. So I would hold out more than just a little hope for some benefit. Other medications that have been tried include sumatriptan (normally used for migraine), ketorolac (a powerful anti-inflammatory medicine) and prochlorperazine (usually used for nausea, and I’m sure your son would have tried it). I would strongly suggest you contact the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association to get more information and suggestions for an expert in your area, at www.cvsaonline.org. *** DEAR DR. ROACH: I have noticed that the medical profession uses a number of standard words in different ways. For example, “negative” is usually good, and “positive” often is bad news. -- N.M.G. ANSWER: It’s true that we in medicine use words differently than they are used conversationally. “Negative” and “positive” are examples: We would like the biopsy to be negative for cancer, and if the HIV test is positive, that’s not good. Doctors also use the word “complaint” to describe the patient’s chief concern; it’s not that we think people are being annoying. *** DEAR DR. ROACH: Can skim milk or oat bran cause gas? -- J.R. ANSWER: Both certainly can cause gas. Skim milk contains the milk sugar lactose, to which many people are intolerant. In mild cases, it causes some gas; severe cases can cause diarrhea. Oat bran is a good fiber source, and all good sources of fiber can cause gas, especially if taken in amounts that are greater than the person is used to. *** Dr. Roach regrets that he is unable to answer individual letters, but will incorporate them in the column whenever possible. Five Tips To Shovel Snow Safely • Lift smaller loads of snow. • Step in the direction in which you are throwing the snow to prevent the low back from twisting. This will help prevent “next-day back fatigue.” • Avoid excessive twisting because the spine cannot tolerate twisting as well as it can tolerate other movements.
We have advanced spine training. If you or anyone you know is experiencing back pain, consult a licensed physical therapist.
• Backward bending exercises repeatedly will help reverse the excessive forward bending of shoveling. • Take frequent breaks. Stand up straight and walk around periodically to extend the lower back.

Keeping newborn babies safe is a priority for mothers, fathers and other caregivers. Various ailments can afflict newborns, and one many new parents may be unfamiliar with is respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV. According to Hackensack Meridian Health, RSV is the leading cause of hospitalization of babies younger than one year of age in the United States. RSV produces symptoms similar to the common cold or the flu and can include runny nose, cough and trouble breathing. In severe cases, particularly in infants, a baby may need to be hospitalized if his or her breathing is greatly compromised. Examples of severe infections include bronchiolitis (an inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia. RSV also can affect adults, but healthy adults are usually only affected by mild symptoms, says the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In such instances, recovery can take between one and two weeks. Researchers are looking into immunizing pregnant women against RSV as a way to help protect babies from the virus.

Take Steps To Improve Your Retirement Confidence (NAPS)—A recent study by the Insured Retirement Institute found that only 25 percent of baby boomers believe they will have enough money in retirement and just 28 percent believe they did a good job financially preparing for their retirement years. This dismal view of their retirement prospects by so many aging Americans is concerning, but what is even more sobering is the study found that boomers are actually less satisfied with their finances than they were as recently as five years ago. In 2012, 41 percent of baby boomers believed they were doing a good job of financial preparation. This decline in retirement confidence has taken place in spite of healthy market conditions and rising interest rates for most retirees’ investments. Fortunately, the news doesn’t have to be so bad if seniors allow this news to serve as a wake-up call for them to take action. Here are five steps that experts say boomers can take to revisit their retirement plans now and fix things that have gone awry: 1. Reassess priorities. Take stock of your available resources and prioritize your needs vs. your wants, based on where your life is now and what is most important to you in the years ahead. 2. Raise cash. Consider options that may be available to you for boosting your savings, such as a part-time job or perhaps selling off some possessions you no longer need. 3. Generate interest. Re-evaluate where your money is sitting today and consider moving as much as you can out of cash and into interest-bearing accounts, which are paying depositors more than they have in several years. 4. Look for hidden assets. Inventory all your assets that might create cash flow, including those you may have overlooked in the past, such as a life insurance policy. A life insurance policy is your personal property and, if you no longer need or can afford it, you may be able to sell it for an immediate cash payment. 5. Leverage your house. If you own your home, consider a reverse mortgage or a home equity line of credit as a way to free up cash that you can use to pay off health care bills or other expenses. Of these five steps, the one that could produce the most immediate cash flow may be the sale of a life insurance policy, known as a life settlement. Most consumers who qualify for a life settlement are 70 or older and own a life insurance policy with a benefit of at least $100,000. For more information or for a free evaluation of your life insurance policy, go to www.LISA.org or call the LISA office at 888-985-0773. There are several things older Americans can do to improve their chances of a secure retirement.

Rush-Henrietta Honored for Instructional Technology Efforts Submitted by Heather Campo, Expanded and Edited by Amanda Dudek ush-Henrietta Honored for Instructional Technology Efforts District Administration magazine has chosen the Rush-Henrietta Central School District as one of its honorees in the 2018 Schools of TechXcellence program. This competitive national program recognizes school districts for outstanding technology initiatives. Rush-Henrietta is being recognized for the use of capstone projects in measuring student learning related to using digital tools. The projects are based on the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards and have been established for third, sixth and ninth grades. For their projects, students select a topic and then complete a series of tasks related to it. These tasks take several weeks and include both online and print research. Students use a variety of digital tools to create a presentation at the end of their projects. Created by District Administration magazine, and sponsored by HP and Intel, TechXcellence recognizes schools that have implemented innovative technology programs that contribute meaningfully to student or operational success. The December 2018 honorees reflect programs that demonstrate effective and replicable success. “Over the past five years, Rush-Henrietta CSD has worked toward the seamless integration of technology devices in every classroom that allows students access to the internet to obtain information, communicate and collaborate with others, and create products of their learning,” says Brad Malone, Rush-Henrietta’s director of information and communication technology. “This has included a 1:1 computing initiative which provides each student with a district-issued Chromebook.” Malone explains that in order to ensure the devices were leading to increases in learning and achievement, the district adopted the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Students. Rush-Henrietta faculty created a five-year technology plan that started with the 2014-15 school year. As a result of this plan, each student in grades K-12 has a district-issued Chromebook which students in grades 4-12 are able to bring home with them after school. After the adoption of the ISTE Standards, the district focused on the areas of curriculum writing and professional development as well as implementing specific assessments called ISTE Capstones (given currently in grades 3, 6 and 9) that allow all students to demonstrate progress towards the ISTE Standards. The Rush-Henrietta capstone projects then began in the 2017-18 school year with third graders and showed that 79 percent of students rated proficient on skills necessary for meeting the ISTE standards. These include citing sources, communicating clearly and concisely, providing details about the main idea of a text, organizing information, evaluating sources, and leveraging digital tools. The results were used by library specialists and technology coaches to work with teachers on how to reinforce and improve key skills among students. “The capstones are designed to be rigorous assessments of information and technology skills that cannot be taught and mastered in one year,” says Malone. Moving forward, a significant portion of Rush-Henrietta’s technology vision is to make the previous efforts more viable and self-sustaining. RushHenrietta plans to also add additional focus on instructional shifts for all teachers to maximize the potential of the devices in their classrooms. As Malone shares, “Given the demographics of the district, we also plan to focus on ways in which equity for all students, specifically English Language Learners, can be promoted.” Locally, Rush-Henrietta is unique in its focused approach of measuring progress toward the ISTE standards district-wide in order to ensure all students have mastered the technology and information literacy skills necessary to be college and career ready. With the district’s move to 1:1 devices for students, effective use of technology for meeting learning standards is a key goal. Not only did nearly 80 percent of students achieve proficiency on the ISTE standards, but they also made a notable improvement on the latest ELA state standard test results, showing that the skills being taught have a positive impact on overall learning. However, using technology as a tool for academic success is just one way in which technology is valuable to students. While Malone is clear that emerging technologies must be used to facilitate how teachers and students interact and engage with the content and the world around them, he describes the benefits of technology education as reaching far beyond the classroom. “To reach today’s learners, teachers must move beyond traditional teaching methods and shift to more authentic, real-world experiences, ensuring students are producers instead of consumers of knowledge,” Malone explains. “In-depth technology integration includes creativity, innovation, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.” Technology also helps students become more thorough, collaborative and global learners. Says Malone, “Students are able to find information on demand regardless of the topic. They can collaborate with peers and experts all over the world as well as create work intended to be viewed and reviewed
All students in the Rush-Henrietta CSD have individual Chromebooks, giving them access to technology as an important tool to support their learning
Class using Chromebooks by others instead of for their and their teachers’ eyes only.” While these technological benefits seem ideal, the question is, of course, Is it working? According to Brad Malone, the answer is yes. “If you were to walk into a classroom at Rush-Henrietta, you may see students researching a topic of their choice using databases. In another classroom you might see students collaborating on a science experiment by sharing lab data in realtime. Other places, you may see students determining which form of media to use to present their learning based on their message and audience. In third, sixth, and ninth grade you would see our students completing their ISTE Capstone Projects which assess an expansive array of digital age skills.” Malone goes on to explain that, looking toward the future, Rush-Henrietta would like to expand the current uses of technology into every classroom. Its faculty are also excited to be designing their Senior High ISTE Capstone Project which would be a truly culminating experience for their students over the course of their entire education at Rush-Henrietta. HOROSCOPE ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Seeing the silly side of some really ridiculous situations helps give the Lamb a new perspective on how to handle them. Some important contacts can be made this weekend. TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Try to complete your outstanding tasks by midweek. This leaves you free to take advantage of new possibilities -- both professional and personal -- opening up by week’s end. GEMINI (May 21 to June 20) With both your creative side and your energy levels rising this week, you should be able to tackle that too-longneglected project again. A family member might have important news. CANCER ( June 21 to July 22) An explanation you requested seems to be more confusing than enlightening. You should insist on clarifications now, rather than deal with problems that might arise later. LEO ( July 23 to August 22) Your energy levels might be ebbing a bit. But that’s no excuse for taking catnaps when you could be working on those unfinished tasks. There’ll be time to curl up and relax by week’s end. VIRGO (August 23 to September 22) It’s a good time to get those ideas out of your head and into a readable format if you hope to have them turned into something doable. A good friend is ready with worthwhile advice. LIBRA (September 23 to October 22) Careful -- you might be stepping into dangerous territory if you decide to “exaggerate” the facts too much. Remember: The truth speaks for itself and needs no embellishment. SCORPIO (October 23 to November 21) Although your workplace successes have earned you many admirers, there are some colleagues who are not among them. Be careful how you proceed with your new project. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 to December 21) You might have to go into great detail to explain why you’re currently reluctant to make changes to an already prepared plan. Be sure you have all the facts to back yourself up. CAPRICORN (December 22 to January 19) Travel plans might still be uncertain. But instead of getting upset about the delay, open yourself up to other possibilities, and begin checking out some alternative destinations. AQUARIUS ( January 20 to February 18) Changing conditions might require you to alter some of your plans. While you might be agreeable to this, be prepared with explanations for those who do not want changes made. PISCES (February 19 to March 20) Although you might have to deal with some detractors who aren’t too kind in their critiques, you gain points when you’re willing to stand up and defend your work. BORN THIS WEEK: You have a gift for creating a warm and loving environment between yourself and others. (c) 2019 King Features Synd., Inc.

“Children are educated by what the grown-up is, rather than by his talk…”
~ Carl Gustav Jung It is all too easy to send children off to school and feel we are doing all we can by simply seeing to it that the kids are not tardy. Jung, a Swiss psychologist of the early 20th century, reminds us that a good example is worth more than great quantities of conversation. Parents, as well as teachers, should be aware that their attitudes and actions toward life and toward learning, are the most powerful influence on young lives, and be guided accordingly. We are keenly aware of our responsibility to serve families in immediate need. We also assist those who desire to pre-arrange their own services, well in advance of need. Feel free to ask for our advice and counsel…without any obligation.

William G. Hoppough␣ January 19, 2019 Hemlock: Bill went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2019, at age 80, after a short illness. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Dorothy Hoppough, sister Margaret (Burt) Treble, and aunt Thelma Hoppough. Survived by his wife of 57 years Beverly (Benham) Hoppough and children; Darlene (Kevin) Henry of Hemlock, Daryl (Ana Lilia Gaxiola-) Hoppough of TX, Darrin Hoppough of Irondequoit, Kelly (Gene) Chichester of Hemlock, and Holly ( Jeff ) Godinez of TX; grandchildren, Corey (Margaret) Hoppough, Kayla (Mark) Bennett, Alicia Henry, Curtis Henry, Elizabeth Rivera, Daniela Rivera, Nathan Chichester, and Tanner Hoppough; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert ( Joyce) Hoppough, Jean Hamilton, and Diane Case. Also survived by many nieces & nephews, great-nieces & -nephews, and many dear friends, including his close friends John Scala, Fred Woodard, Harold Grundman, and Craig Yarnes. Bill was born on June 12, 1938 to Gordon and Dorothy Hoppough of Hemlock, the fourth of five children. He attended Hemlock High School where he enjoyed playing sports and other shenanigans not involving academics. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the U.S. island territory of Guam. He rarely spoke of his service, but was a very patriotic veteran, and made sure his kids had respect for the flag and our country. Upon returning to Hemlock, he married Beverly Benham on April 22, 1961. They purchased a home on Main Street and spent many years remodeling it to accommodate their growing family. Bill worked at Bernhardt Lumber in Hemlock for many years installing kitchens, baths, and doing general remodeling and carpentry. In 1980 he began working “trick shift” in the Silver Recovery department of Eastman Kodak in Rochester until his retirement. Besides being a loyal, hardworking, faithful and dependable husband, dad, uncle and friend, Bill was a great fan of hunting, fishing, the Cleveland Browns and NY Yankees. He is listed in the NYS “Big Buck Club” for a deer he took in Richmond, NY. He attended every school play, chorus or band concert, basketball or little league game he could for his grandkids and was always supportive and genuinely interested in their lives. He undertook an 8-year restoration of a 1949 Chevy pickup with his son-in-law Gene and won many trophies at local car shows. He traveled south to help rebuild after hurricane destruction and to Alaska to help at a Christian summer camp. Bill “rescued” many dogs over the years and always favored the hunting breeds. He was active in the Hemlock Fire Department and served as chief in the 1970’s, was a faithful servant of the Lord, active in the United Methodist Church in Hemlock; enjoyed serving and helping others. He set a great example for his children and grandchildren; his sense of humor and compassion will be greatly missed by all who knew and adored him. A Service to Celebrate Bill’s Life will be held at the Hemlock United Methodist Church in the spring. A date and time will be announced in the future. Burial Union Cemetery, Livonia, NY with military honors. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hemlock United Methodist Church, 4616 N. Main Street, Hemlock, NY 14466.␣ To send a condolence or share a memory please visit: www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

CROSSWORD
B ecause
W e C are by Kevin W. Dougherty and Michael P. Dougherty
CONFRONTING DEATH When suddenly confronted with the death of a loved one, it is necessary to go through the grieving process, which doesn’t follow a fixed pattern. As such, each person must grieve in his or her own way and in his or her own time. There is no special time on the calendar when we can point and say that grief is over. Grief is also work, in that people must “work through” their grief, which can be a painful process. Grief can hurt as much, or more, than a physical wound. Fortunately, wounds heal. In the end, we do not “get over” the death of a loved one. We learn to live with the fact of his or her death. Grieving is an intensely emotional time and is often characterized by confusion, forgetting the “little things” occurring at this time, and fear connected with facing life without the person lost. That is why it is important to be patient and understanding. Just being present for support can help. To learn more about our funeral services, please call KEVIN W. DOUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME at (585) 346-5401. You are invited to tour our facilities at Livonia and Honeoye, NY. QUOTE: “When death overtakes us, all that we have is left to others; all that we are we take with us.” Unknown

START BREATHING CLEAN (NAPSI)—A new year, whether the one on the calendar or a more personal milestone, is a good time to give your health and well-being a new start, too. Here are three hints on how 1. Be active—but don’t set too high a goal. Just walking for 30 minutes a day, even in 10-minute increments, can make a difference. 2. Eat right. Go for more fruits and vegetables; fewer sugary drinks, red meats and high-fat, processed foods. 3. Reduce indoor pollution. Get your HVAC system cleaned by a NADCA professional. In most homes, people generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust and chemicals. These are pulled into the HVAC system and build up in the ductwork. NADCA sets the industry standard for HVAC system cleaning and its members must have at least one certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) on staff, comply with a Code of Ethics and acquire continuing education credits. Learn More: For further facts and tips and to find a nearby NADCA member, go to www.nadca.com. For a free Homeowner’s Guide to air duct cleaning, visit https://nadca.com/sites/default/files/docs/2017/nadca_ homeowners_guide_print_version.pdf.

Wedding insurance can provide couples who are about to tie the knot with some peace of mind on their big days. Many wedding venues require couples carry liability coverage in the case of accidents, injuries or incidents. But wedding insurance policies may even surprise couples with regard to what they cover. Each policy is different, and couples may be able to customize wedding insurance policies to cover a host of items. Many policies cover couples in the wake of cancellations or postponements due to weather, damage to the facility or even a change of heart on the part of the couple holding the policy. But some policies may provide coverage for couples should their photographers and/or caterers fail to appear. Policies may also cover lost, stolen or damaged items, including equipment rentals, bridal growns, jewelry, and/or gifts. Couples should speak with their wedding venue representative to determine if the venue offers extended coverage and ultimately compare those offerings to policy estimates they receive on their own.

TRY A TASTE OF HISPANIC HERITAGE (NAPSI)—National Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to acknowledge the history, culture and contributions of the people of Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Spain. One of the best ways to celebrate, many say, is with food. Making that easy is one restaurant chain that’s having a year-round love affair with Latin and Hispanic cuisine. Long known for its authentic Tex-Mex roots, Church’s Chicken®/Texas Chicken® has spent years championing the commemorative period—which runs from September15 to October 15th—on a global stage.
Sudoku
The first Hispanic influence on the company’s menu was the jalapeño pepper—the very first side item ever offered at the restaurant chain. The peppers were added to the menu due to a San Antonio tradition of squeezing their juice over various foods to give them a south-of-theborder style “kick” of heat and spice. The restaurant’s sister brand, Texas Chicken, features the Mexicana Burger on menus worldwide. This tasty chicken burger is a fiesta of tastes and textures, with a juicy hand-battered chicken breast fillet that’s topped “taco style” with cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, spicy mayo, crunchy tortilla chips and chopped onions. INNOVATIVE SCHOOL IS A TRAINING GROUND FOR ARTISTS (NAPSI)—Art classes have slowly but steadily all but disappeared from public schools over the years. Lack of funding has been the culprit, but educators tend to agree that the arts play a crucial role in the academic and creative development of our children. One public school in Greenville, South Carolina is embracing a different model and provides a haven for young artists from across the state to discover, develop and hone their talents. The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities offers preprofessional training to its students in the areas of creative writing, dance, drama, music, and visual arts. As a public, residential high school serving juniors and seniors, it helps students refine their talents in a master-apprentice community while receiving nationally recognized academic education. The Governor’s School also serves as a resource to all teachers and students in South Carolina, offering comprehensive outreach programs designed to bring together artists, educators, community organizations, and schools. The school is supported by its own foundation—The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation—by raising revenues to bridge the gap between funds provided to the school through government appropriation and the actual cost of the educational opportunities the school provides to its students. This extraordinary school recently captured the attention of Ovation TV, a cable and digital channel that is dedicated to the arts. Ovation and local cable provider Spectrum acknowledged the school’s contributions to the community and innovative approach to arts education and skills development with a $10,000 award via its Stand for the Arts arts advocacy initiative. SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities’ success provides a great lesson for communities across the country looking to support the arts and encourage the creative development of their youth.

Although marijuana and hemp come from the same cannabis family, the plants are completely different in function, cultivation and application. Hemp is grown specifically for agricultural purposes and has been used for hundreds of years in textiles, body care products, paper products, industrial products and building materials. Most importantly, hemp is nonpsychoactive and cannot get your pet high. Hemp has significant health benefits for pets. Hemp is high in fiber; a great source of plant-based protein; is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids; and contains phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and 20 amino acids. Hemp Seed Oil and Hemp Seed Powder work synergistically with other active ingredients to help provide support for allergies, stress and anxiety, joints, aches and discomfort, the immune system, and overall health and wellness. GIVE THE GIFT OF DELICIOUS COFFEE (NAPSI)—Have you ever wondered what to buy a friend for the holidays and wished you could get them something that they would enjoy every day? Everyone has at least one friend who simply cannot live without their coffee. If that friend uses a pod brewing system, they are choosing convenience and speed but sacrificing flavor and value. When they buy coffee pods, they are paying about $40 per pound of coffee. A drip coffee maker brews somewhat better-tasting coffee but people probably waste half the coffee that they brew. That is like doubling what you pay per pound of coffee. Better Taste, Less Waste There are some great inexpensive devices for brewing a wonderful single cup of coffee. Manual brewers, many say, brew the best cup of coffee you can make at home. With these brewers you can use your favorite freshly roasted local coffee, and furthermore, you don’t waste any. You brew only the number of cups you want. With a brewer like the AeroPress coffee maker you can brew a rich, delicious cup of coffee with no bitterness in just a minute or two. The process is simple, clean up is fast and easy, and the grounds including the filter are compostable. Every ounce of coffee you buy ends up in a cup you drink, so none of your money goes down the drain. It’s possible to brew café-quality coffee at home without spending hundreds of dollars on a machine or wasting half the coffee you brewed. Give the gift of a manual brewing device to help your friends brew one or two cups at a time using freshly roasted coffee, and they’ll thank you for helping them get the most out of every bag of coffee they buy. TIPS TO HELP REALIZE YOUR GOALS THIS YEAR Examine your priorities. Achieving goals is easier when their goals can be among your biggest priorities. Examine your priorities to determine if you can fully commit to goals that may require significant time commitments. Men and women who are already stretched thin may need to recalibrate their goals or make changes in other areas of their lives before they can fully commit to pursuing new goals.

The Allied survey found that 31 percent of respondents indicated the most challenging part of relocating for a job was finding a home, while 29 percent felt acclimating to their new community was the most challenging aspect of their relocation. Adults who rent their first homes upon relocating can remove some of the pressure to find the perfect home, knowing full well their first home in their new community will be temporary. If possible, rent in a location that makes it easy to immerse yourself in your new community, which should make the adjustment easier. In addition, place items that are unnecessary for day-to-day life in storage. Having some of your possessions already packed should make your next move less stressful.
