DID YOU KNOW? Come autumn, many foods seem to take on a unique flavor exclusive to the season. That’s thanks to the ubiquitous “pumpkin spice,” which each fall is a specially featured ingredient in everything from cream cheese to marshmallows. Naturally, pumpkin spice is also a key ingredient when preparing pumpkin pie. But just what does pumpkin spice contain? Pumpkin spice is a combination of several different ground spices. It typically includes cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg. It also may include allspice. Pumpkin spice is the name given to the blend in the United States. In the United Kingdom, pumpkin spice is known as “mixed spice,” which is a similar but not exact blend as that used to create pumpkin spice. Both feature cinnamon as the dominant flavor.

However, it’s easy to change the outlook from cold to cozy with a few simple DIY solutions. The most effective way to improve the comfort level in your home is to properly insulate. Insulation can be inadequate in older homes. Over time, it can settle and compact, creating gaps. Topping up attic insulation will help keep the warm air in, reducing heating bills and preventing stress on your furnace. For easy installation, homeowners and professionals alike recommend a stone wool batt insulation. For attics, aim for an r-value of R-50 or a depth of 16 inches. A little preparation can go a long way to keep the cold at bay. Seal out drafts by replacing worn weatherstripping and caulking along windows, doors, baseboards, and trim. For other ways to beat the cold, consider inexpensive window insulation kits along with thicker drapes, and don’t forget to reverse ceiling fans to push warm air back down.

HOW PARENTS CAN SIMPLIFY STUDENTS’ TRANSITION TO COLLEGE LIFE

Since 2000

Teach kids how to develop budgets. Another problem many first-year college students encounter is an inability to effectively manage their money. Whether you plan to give kids an allowance while they are in school or intend for them to work part-time for their spending money, use senior year of high school as an opportunity to show kids how to budget their money. If they don’t have accounts already, open bank accounts in your youngster’s name, and insist that he or she start paying for his or her expenses via these accounts. Resist the urge to give high school kids gas money or money for shopping trips if they have already spent their allowances so they can learn how to effectively manage money between paydays. In addition, teach kids about the right and wrong ways to use credit cards, including the importance of paying balances in full and on time. GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

UR STRONG I want to give a huge shout out to the many nurses a met during my stay this past month. Each and every one of you in your own way made my stay a little more bearable. From the handmade chocolate milkshake to just chatting with me, from laughing at my bad jokes to drawing funny pictures on the white board. But most of all, thanks for the care and attention given to me. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart! BARE FEET After I left the store, you asked the cashier why I was allowed to be barefoot. (My son was behind you in line.) Had you asked, I would have been happy to explain US Department of Justice 28 CFR Part 36 (.201 and .302) protects a person's right to go barefoot due to health, medical or disability reasons. It is a violation to ask why the person is barefoot, just as it would be to ask why a person is in a wheelchair. To educate: I have neuropathy, deadening the feeling in my feet. The greater my points of contact with the ground, the less likely I am to fall. If you pay attention, you will notice there is no longer a sign on any public entity stating no GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

CAR ACCIDENT ANGEL I was in a bad car accident on Route 247 in Canandaigua on Friday, August 28th, and right after my car was hit I was so scared and upset, but a very kind woman came to me and held me as I cried. She stayed right by side until the ambulance came. She was my angel, and I am forever grateful and blessed for her act of kindness. I did not get her name, but God bless you, and thank you so very much for being

OUT OF SEASON My brother has 30 acres of land and has been watching a large turkey family in the fields eating grasshoppers. Something spooked them and they all flew across the road onto a certain property. This guy grabs his gun and starts shooting! My brother flipped out as he watched this. This person said he wanted a turkey for dinner after he lied about it saying the turkeys scared his horses, claiming he shot over

the horses at the turkeys. My brother does not know for sure if he hit one, but if he got the hen, those babies surely would not make it. I think these people are shooting deer, as well as rabbits and anything they can eat. What makes them special that they can shoot everything that is out of season? If I catch them doing this, I will turn them in.

OVERPOPULATION The only real way to solve the pollution and trashing of the earth's environment is to have fewer people on the planet. Overpopulation is the source of the problems, and until people stop having more than two kids, the problems are only going to get worse. That is why there are over 8 billion people on earth. Magazines can publish good ideas and suggestions, which is fine, but in the end, it is too many people are the basic problem.

HOW COLLEGE STUDENTS CAN CUT LIVING EXPENSES Move off campus. Some schools do not permit freshmen and sophomores to live off-campus, but older students may find that private housing is more affordable than on-campus apartments or dormitories. Students eligible to live in off-campus housing can contact local real estate agents to get a feel for the off-campus housing market before making a final decision.

HOW TO FIND TIME TO EXERCISE A new year marks a great time to embrace change. Many people do just that by making resolutions designed to improve their lives in the year and years ahead. Resolutions regarding personal health are annually among the most popular changes people hope to make at the dawn of a new year. In fact, a quick scan of annual lists citing the most popular resolutions found that pledges to eat healthier and exercise more can be found at or near the top of such lists. Though such lists might not have been compiled using the most scientific of methods, it’s no secret that getting healthier and looking better is a goal many people strive for upon the arrival of January 1. Unfortunately, a 2015 report from U.S. News & World Report suggested that 80 percent of resolutions fail, oftentimes as early as February. For those who don’t just want but need to get healthier, failure to live up to a resolution to exercise more can have potentially devastating consequences. If exercising more is a goal in the year ahead, the following are a few strategies to make that happen. Exercise in the early morning. As the day progresses, unforeseen challenges or forgotten commitments have a way of devouring time initially earmarked for exercise. Exercise first thing in the morning before any commitments to work and family hijack the time you have committed to exercising. Take on less responsibility. Professionals and parents often cite commitments to work and family as the primary reasons they aren’t getting enough exercise. While those are perfectly reasonable excuses to skip a workout, men and women who recognize the long-term benefits of routine exercise may be compelled to take on less responsibility at work while also making an effort to divvy up responsibilities at home more equitably. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ongoing exercise can reduce risk for cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and some cancers. The CDC also notes that routine exercise strengthens bones and muscles while improving mood. Taking on more responsibility at work might be great for your career, but that may prove a Pyrrhic victory if your long-term health is jeopardized. Parents can discuss with their spouse how to better share responsibilities at home so both moms and dads can get regular exercise. Embrace more efficient exercise routines. Rather than working a single muscle group at a time, which can be both time-consuming and boring, men and women can adapt their workout routines to focus on multimuscle exercises. Work with a personal trainer to make your workout as efficient as possible. Schedule your routine each week. Each week is different, so while it may be ideal to establish a workout routine in which you exercise at the same time each day, that’s not always going to be possible. Failing to exercise on a day you had intended to workout can compromise your motivation to workout in the future, so sit down at the beginning of each week to examine your commitments for the days ahead and schedule times to exercise in the next seven days. This can keep you on track and help you avoid the disappointment of missing a workout because life got in the way. Finding time to exercise is not always so easy, but even the busiest men and women can likely still include workouts in their daily routines.

SENIOR NEWS LINE By Matilda Charles Rising Food Costs Prices on so many necessary items have gone up over the past six months. Most worrisome is food. Of all the grocery store price increases, beef and veal went up the most. But they've all gone up: bread, seafood, cereal, vegetables. Fresh fruit, on the other hand, reportedly went down (although not at my store), as did milk (again, not at my store, which saw a ridiculous increase). It likely won't get better for the rest of the year. What hasn't gone up is our income. In fact, for those seniors who had part-time jobs to supplement Social Security, incomes have gone down because of the loss of those jobs. Yes, many of us got that $1,200 stimulus check ... how many months ago? For so many of us, the time has come to admit that we need help. It's not easy, but it's really not giving up any independence. There are many organizations and groups out there giving away food. Have you seen the lines of cars waiting for food pickups? The trunks of those vehicles get loaded with bags and boxes of food, gallons of milk, sacks of potatoes, frozen meat and fresh bakery goods. Other groups focus on seniors and deliver individual boxes of food to the door. Don't jeopardize your health because of lack of food. Pick up the phone, make calls. Find out where the free or low-cost food is in your area. Call the senior center, all the churches, the food pantry and your state's National Council on Aging (www.ncoa.org). Get on the internet and look for seniors dining sites and Meals on Wheels, senior food boxes, Commodity Supplemental Food Program and "free food for seniors in (your state)." This pandemic might last for a very long time. Get your food support system in place. It's one less thing to worry about.

NOW HERE'S A TIP By JoAnn Derson * “In my shop, I have stored small bits of hardware in baby-food jars. They were all on a shelf together, and when I needed one, I would have to move bottles around until I found the right one. I took a piece of 1-by-4 and cut it into 2-foot sections. Then I glued the bottoms of the bottles in a row to the wood. Now, they still sit on the shelf, but all I have to do is slide the 1-by-4s out and find the right jar. I can still see in the sides, and it makes them so much easier to deal with.” -- J.N in Missouri * “My child has so many toys that they were starting to take over his room and our house. We got three big plastic storage tubs and distributed the toys among them. Now the rule is that only one tub can be open at a time, so if he wants to play with other toys, he must pick up all the toys from the tub he is playing with first. It has made such a difference since the house gets picked up at least once a day.” -- C.I. in Tennessee * Here’s a boating safety tip: Make sure you check the weather before you head out for a day on the water. And everyone needs a life vest, large or small! * “Lots of people are selling things online now to make a few bucks, and that’s cool. I know I have things I’ve picked up that I don’t use. Why not make a little money? Here’s a tip though: Do a little research on price for your item. You want to avoid listing it for too much (no interest) or too little (yes, it gets snapped up quickly, but you could have gotten more for it). A little homework goes a long way.” -- C.A. in Florida * No red wine for your recipe? You can substitute an equal amount of grape juice or beef broth in most recipes. GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH By Keith Roach, M.D.

Insomnia One of Many Prednisone Side Effects --DEAR DR. ROACH: I was prescribed prednisone 5 mg twice daily, but I had insomnia, itching and hot flashes from it. I stopped after four days but am still suffering from sleeplessness. Has the prednisone had a permanent effect on my body? -- J.W.S.L. ANSWER: Prednisone, a powerful anti-inflammatory and immune system-inhibiting steroid, has many side effects on the body, especially insomnia. Hot flashes and itching are uncommon side effects. Insomnia is more common when prednisone is taken twice daily. Anytime a person gets insomnia, it can create a situation where they become worried about sleeping, which can lead to a persistent problem, even though the effect of the prednisone is gone. I recommend some routine steps for treating insomnia, such as avoiding bright lights, including any electronic screen, for two hours or so before bed; regular exercise, if the condition for which you took prednisone allows it; and a warm bath before bed. A mild sleep aid, such as melatonin 1 mg or less, may help reset your system, but daily use is not necessary. *** DEAR DR. ROACH: My wife had a heart attack. They did what they could for her, but she had a 100% blocked artery. They did clean it out, but a week later she had a fatal heart attack. Five or six months earlier, she called me quite often by a former friend’s name. I am wondering if blood was not getting to her brain or if she was starting to get dementia? -- G.M. ANSWER: I am very sorry about your wife. People who have blockages in the heart often have blockages in other blood vessels, such as those in the leg, but also those going to the brain. Poor blood flow to the brain may cause changes to memory and other specific problems. A stroke is very much like a heart attack. Most strokes are caused by poor blood flow to a specific area of the brain, and if it is severe enough, long enough, brain tissue will die, causing loss of function. People who have had multiple strokes are more frequently affected by dementia, called vascular dementia or multi-infarct dementia. I don’t know if this was the case for your wife, but it is certainly plausible. People who notice loved ones having memory lapses should get an evaluation sooner rather than later, as sometimes there are therapies that work better when started earlier. *** DEAR DR. ROACH: Does BPH increase the possibility of prostate cancer? -- A.L. ANSWER: Benign prostatic hypertrophy is a common condition in men. About half of men in their 50s have an enlarged prostate, and the proportion gets even higher as men age. The major symptoms of enlarged prostate are difficulty with urine flow, a sensation of decreased emptying, difficulty initiating urination, and increased frequency of urinating, including at night. As symptoms worsen, incontinence can occur and even kidney damage may result due to the high pressure in the bladder. The first word in “BPH” is “benign”: It is not a cancerous condition. It does not protect against developing cancer, but there does not appear to be an increased risk either, according to the most recent studies. *** Dr. Roach regrets that he is unable to answer individual questions, but will incorporate them in the column whenever possible. NATURAL WAYS TO FIGHT FALL ALLERGIES Rinse off pollen. Use a mild cleanser to rinse the eyelids and eyelashes of pollen, as this is where it tends to congregate after being outdoors. Use saline spray to clear nasal passages of excess pollen as well.

THREE WAYS TO RELIEVE ARTHRITIS PAIN by Dr. Bob Arnot (NAPSI) — Over the course of my career as a physician, chief medical correspondent and war correspondent, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of pain management drugs and approaches. One thing I’ve seen is that the United States is much more reliant on taking pills for pain than the rest of the world, where topical analgesics, physical therapy and other approaches are more widely used. A problem with pills is that many of them come with side effects that can be severe, especially if the medications are used in greater quantities or for longer than they’re supposed to be. That’s one reason for back, muscle and joint pains, I believe it’s best to start with topicals. What’s more, the Centers for Disease Control, the American College of Rheumatology and other medical experts agree it’s a safer approach. Fortunately, if you are an arthritis sufferer and want effective relief, there are two topicals that are FDA approved the same way Ibuprofen, Naproxen Sodium and other prescription pain medicines have been through the demanding new drug application process. While both help relieve arthritis pain, it is important to know the differences between Salonpas Pain Relief Patch Large and Voltaren Arthritis Pain gel. Salonpas Pain Relief Patch Large was the 1st topical approved by the FDA and provides relief for up to 12 hours. It begins to work in one hour and can provide clinically meaningful pain relief in the first day. Since it is a patch, the medicine is pre-measured and easy to apply. Not only does this patch help relieve arthritis pain, but it also works for back, muscle and joint pain as well. On the other hand, Voltaren Arthritis Pain gel is not labeled for immediate relief and may take up to 7 days to help achieve relief. To apply this gel, you must first measure out an amount based on a dosing card. Voltaren is effective for up to 6 hours and should only be used for arthritis pain. In addition to topical relief, joint and muscle pain can be treated with physical therapy. It can keep stiff joints from getting stiffer, reduce strain on joints during daily activities and help you get back to normal life without pain or difficulty. Also helpful are hot and cold compresses. Heat is good for joint stiffness and cold compresses can ease joint pain. Just remember, don’t apply heat to a joint that’s already hot. If you feel a burning sensation in your joint, cool it with the cold compresses. Dr. Arnot is board certified in internal medicine and an award-winning journalist, author of twelve books on nutrition and health and host of the Dr. Danger reality TV series. You can find more helpful healthcare and pain relief information from Dr. Arnot at https://us.hisamitsu/.

Preowned Items Can Be Good For The Environment

Bergen Online Only Real Estate Auction

Visit consignment stores: Consignment shops and Goodwill(R) stores are popular places to buy preowned items. These stores take donations or offer items for sale on consignment, which means once sold the person who provided the item gets a portion of the sale. When browsing the racks of these stores, it’s possible to discover highend items mixed in with less expensive items. Shoppers may find designer handbags and clothing for much less than they would sell at retail, especially if the pieces are one or two seasons old. Relying on these stores to supplement classic wardrobe pieces is cost-effective and beneficial to the environment. If you regularly shop consignment stores, you can develop a rapport with the shopkeeper, who may alert you when new items are available.

Gift Auctions Can Successfully Raise Funds In an effort to add some creativity to traditional fundraisers, many charitable groups have begun to rely on gift auctions. Gift auctions, sometimes referred to as a “tricky tray,” ask participants to silently bid on various prizes. Each prize is put on display and participants go around and place pre-purchased raffle tickets into bowls or bags beside the prizes. After bidding has concluded, an emcee will select a winning ticket from each collection of entries and read out the winner’s name or ticket number. Depending on how many prizes are available, gift auctions provide hours of fun.

Make this a safe fireworks season Fireworks displays are a hallmark of summer, and a frequent component of Independence Day celebrations and commemorative events that require a touch of flair. Aweinspiring pyrotechnics shows lure millions of spectators around the world each and every year. Many people experiment with fireworks on their own, but that can be dangerous. According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, thousands of people are injured by fireworks in the United States each year. Whether purchased legally or on the black market, fireworks pose a considerable threat. Fireworks purchased on the black market may be especially dangerous, as they likely were not subjected to government regulations and inspections.

Presbyterian First Presbyterian Church, Batavia

Outdoor worship is held in the parking lot on Saturdays at 6:30 pm. You may stay in your car or bring a chair to sit outside. RSVP to 343-0505 or fpcbatavia@outlook.com by Thursday at noon. We practice coronavirus courtesy. Online worship is held on Facebook Live on Sundays at 9am. You may go to it from the church’s website at: https://fpcbatavia.org/ If you use Facebook, around 9am on Sunday a thumbnail will appear that says LIVE, click on that and you will be able to join the Facebook Livestream.

While summer might be the season of fireworks, it’s important that people who intend to incorporate fireworks into their summer festivities keep safety in mind at all times. The following are a handful of ways to ensure this summer is both fun and safe. •

Attend a municipal firework display rather than hosting your own. Professionals follow certain safety protocols that private citizens are unfamiliar with, and there is often a considerable distance between audiences and professional fireworks displays.

Exercise caution if fireworks are legal where you live. Maintain a safe distance from fireworks at all times and never allow children to handle fireworks.

Read and strictly adhere to manufacturer’s instructions.

Light only one firework at a time, and never attempt to re-ignite a firework that doesn’t light the first time around.

Do not carry fireworks in your pocket.

Do not shoot fireworks out of metal or glass containers.

Always wear safety glasses when lighting fireworks, and keep water or a fire extinguisher around for emergencies.

List your place of Worship on our monthly Worship Pages. Call 226-8111 today.

BANISH MOSQUITOES FROM YOUR YARD Time spent in the backyard on spring and summer afternoons and evenings contributes heavily to the popularity of these times of year. Many homeowners go to great lengths to make their outdoor living spaces as luxurious as possible, only to be bothered by uninvited and bothersome guests: mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are not just pesky nuisances, but they’re also harmful. According to the American Mosquito Control Association, more than one million people across the globe die from mosquito-borne diseases every year. Such diseases include malaria, dengue, yellow fever, West Nile virus, and the Zika virus. The AMCA notes that many of the diseases transmitted by mosquitoes can be linked to travel to endemic areas. But mosquitoes in North America can still be harmful, and bites may result in severe skin irritation through an allergic reaction to mosquito saliva. GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

If not handled properly, fireworks can cause serious injuries to kids and adults. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to leave it to the professionals.

PAW’S CORNER By Sam Mazzotta

Dogs Can’t Tolerate HumanBug Repellen PAW’S CORNER: I live in an area where eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile Virus are active. On my walks, I make sure to wear plenty of bug spray to prevent being bitten by a mosquito infected with either disease. Are my dogs at risk of catching it? Can I use bug spray on their fur? -- Shellie in Worcester, Massachusetts DEAR SHELLIE: While dogs (and cats) are at risk of catching either disease, most pets recover fully, especially with veterinary treatment (which is mainly supportive, to keep them strong while their bodies fight the infection). Humans can get seriously ill from either EEE or West Nile Virus, so I’m glad you’re using plenty of bug repellent. Mosquitoes are very active just before sunset, when most of us prefer to take our pets for walks during the hot summer months. However, pets do not tolerate bug spray made for humans very well. (Citronella candles also can be very irritating.) They still should have some protection from mosquitoes, as these flying pests also carry diseases that can be very harmful to pets, like heartworm. Pet-friendly repellents are available at the pet store or through your vet’s office. You can try natural repellents like lemon juice (try mixing it half-and-half with water in a spray bottle and applying to your dogs’ coat just before walking), crushed peppermint leaves, or rosemary. Keep up with your pets’ heartworm medication and check them for ticks and fleas after each walk, too. This will reduce their risk of getting a serious illness from an outdoor pest. Al Fresco Dining Eyes Upcoming Wintery Weather BY AMANDA DUDEK

R

estaurants across Upstate New York, and in fact the nation, have been hit hard by COVID-19 shutdowns. Now, as many fine dining establishments have finally been able to reopen their doors to a mere 25-50% of their capacity, restaurateurs are facing a worrying nip in the air. From the Downtown areas of Greater Rochester to our historic small-town Main Streets, solutions are being sought for the upcoming fall and winter holidays, important seasons which could spell the difference between success and closed doors. Local restaurant owner Jay Speranza of Tony D’s in Rochester is, in fact, “very much” concerned about the upcoming colder weather. “I am open to any ideas to try to increase capacity,” he said. Others like Steve Foster and Tim Adams of the Red Osier Landmark Restaurant in Stafford are blessed with the space to host their patrons inside while remaining socially distanced and safe. Yet even restaurant owners who are not particularly concerned, like Richard Mogab of Texas Bar-B-Q Joint (Greece, Rochester, Spencerport) said that while he does not currently have cold weather outdoor dining plans in place, he would be interested in learning more about them. Possible cold weather answers are filtering in from all over, including Chicago. The Windy City, keenly aware of its impending inclement weather, has launched a Winter Dining Challenge in partnership with the Illinois Restaurant Association, BMO Harris Bank, and design company IDEO. Chicagoans have been asked to submit their best solutions for safe, cold weather dining as they vie for prizes of up to $5,000. The results have been both remarkable and inspiring. One answer to the cold weather quandary is to construct additional spaces outdoors. Possibilities for what this might look like range from luxury domes geodesic structures resembling glass igloos to “smart glass” boxes which allow users to control the temperature via the amount of light coming through to cubic pods. Square or rectangular outdoor pods, raised and heated, can be combined to accommodate varying party numbers. These typically come in kits and can also be very adaptable to limited square footage such as a particular option designed for restaurant parking areas. Two such units can fit in each parking space! Offering easy set up and often more privacy, tents, yurts, tee-pees, and cubes of fabric are also viable options. Heat, of course, depends on structure. Perforated fabric walls can be combined with forced air wall partitions which essentially push heated air down, preventing the flow of air in from outside the space. To solve heat issues without forced air, one Chicagoan suggested drawing in exhaust from existing kitchen equipment. Tents and yurts also provide shelter from the elements. Yurts, most associated with traditional Mongolian round tents, covered with a thick, weather-resistant material supported by rafters and a lattice structure which culminate at a central roof ring. Similarly, teepees made of similar materials and supported poles can be minimally heated to provide nearly instantaneous outdoor dining.

In the face of a particularly frigid winter season, ice bars, a tradition most associated with colder European climes, presents flexible and fun possibilities. These drinking and even dining spaces carved from ice are unexpectedly cozy since the ice functions as an insulator. Attractive, novel and all but guaranteed to draw a crowd, ice eateries can be structured to suit, perhaps even into ice pods. Rather than creating new outdoor spaces, some suggest the necessary structures are already available, advocating for a more “mobile” approach. Eying underutilized city buses, these innovators recommend converting them along with train cars into pop up dining spaces. These mobile mini restaurants would pick up additional diners and park in front of restaurants from which passengers can then order. Buses and train cars which are no longer functional can be remodeled to serve as extensions of existing restaurants. Some innovations recommend embracing the great outdoors, even when temperatures drop. In keeping with the festive feel of the season, select downtown areas and local Main Streets could close to traffic and transform into bustling holiday wonderlands. Food trucks and vendors could be brought in. Patios and other outdoor dining areas could be warmed with heat lamps and air curtains. “S” shaped dividers with fire pits could be arranged down the center of the street for increased warmth and seating. Heating could also be centered at the seating itself. Hot stone bowls and plates would add to the ambiance while combating the cold. Chairs with heated cushions and reusable chemical heat pads could be set around tables with small fire pits in their centers, providing additional light for diners while enjoy increased warmth. Patrons could also be warmed bottom to top with Japanese Kotatsu. These heated tables consist of a platform over which a thick blanket or futon has been placed. On its center above rests a tabletop, while an electric heater underneath the frame keeps seated guests nice and toasty. A chill in the air is inevitable, and the cooler weather brings with it opportunities for innovation, creativity and novelty, a sure recipe for success. After months of shutdowns and restrictions, families across the Greater Rochester Area are eager for the chance to get out and enjoy their communities once again. Creating novel and safe environments thanks to continued outdoor dining can give families the experience they crave while providing local restaurants with the revenue they seriously need.
