WGVU television broadcasts “The Grand Valley State Sports Report,” a 30-minute program each Monday evening at 6 p.m. An interview with Dave DiIanni will be featured each week, along with game highlights from women’s soccer and other GVSU sports. The show also airs each Tuesday at 12:30 a.m. on WGVU and at 6:30 p.m. on Comcast Local and each Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Head coach Dave DiIanni will also appear every week on GVSN’s GOL TV hosted by Steve Lloyd-Jones at www.gvsulakers.com

player interviews All player interviews must be arranged through the sports information office. This policy allows us to arrange a time that will not interfere with the studentathletes’ academic schedule. Game-day interviews are not permitted prior to the game, unless special arrangements have been made. Post-game interviews will be held near the field or at the GVSU Fieldhouse after the team has been released from its post-game meeting. In general, Coach DiIanni, his assistants and players will be available about 10 minutes after the game. DAvID DIIANNInn -2006 NSCAA NATIoNAl CoACh of The YeAr -TWo-TIme NSCAA GreAT lAKeS reGIoN CoACh of The YeAr -SIx STrAIGhT NCAA ToUrNAmeNT APPeArANCeS -foUr GlIAC TITleS -ThIrD AmoNG ACTIVe DII CoACheS IN WIN PerCeNTAGe (.878) Dave DiIanni is in his seventh season as the head women’s soccer coach at Grand Valley State University. DiIanni has tallied a 113-14-4 (.878) record in his six seasons and has guided the Lakers to six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. DiIanni is just the second head coach in the program’s 13-year history. His .878 winning percentage ranks him third among active Division II head coaches. In 2008, DiIanni led the Lakers to their second consecutive undefeated regular season with a 21-0 overall record. GVSU was ranked No. 1 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for 11 consecutive weeks. Grand Valley State closed out the season with a 22-1 record and a spot in the Midwest Regional Championship, as well as its fourth consecutive GLIAC title. Three Lakers were named to all-american teams following the season. After leading his 2007 squad to a perfect 17-0-0 regular season record and a school-record 21-1-1 overall record, DiIanni was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year. He led the Lakers to their second trip to the NCAA Final Four in as many years. GVSU was ranked No. 1 overall for nine consecutive weeks in 2007. The Lakers claimed their third straight GLIAC title and second straight Great Lakes Regional Title, as well as the inaugural GLIAC Tournament title. In 2006, DiIanni improved upon his previous success at Grand Valley State. Once again, the Lakers had a school-best year, finishing with a record of 19-2-1. GVSU advanced all the way to the school’s first NCAA Division II National Championship game before losing 1-0, in overtime, to Metro State. Then-sophomore Katy Tafler set a school record, notching 33 goals and 73 points on the year, breaking her own records of 25 goals and 58 points set in 2005. Tafler also placed first in the nation in Division II, recording 3.32 points per contest. For his accomplishments, DiIanni was named the NSCAA/Adidas Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year.

COACHING STAFF DiIanni guided the Lakers through a year of firsts in 2005, capturing GVSU’s first-ever GLIAC and NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships. The 19-3 overall record was, at the time, the best in school history, with the Lakers rolling off 11 consecutive victories in the season. GVSU finished the season ranked eighth in the NSCAA/Adidas national poll. The Lakers’ 7-1 GLIAC record helped them claim their first-ever Great Lakes Regional Championship and advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals. GVSU captured the regional title with a 1-0 win over SIU-Edwardsville and a 2-0 win over host Northern Kentucky in the final. The Lakers dropped a 2-0 decision to eventual national champion Nebraska-Omaha in the quarterfinals. In 2004, DiIanni’s Lakers recorded a 15-5 overall record, while finishing second in GLIAC play with a conference mark of 6-2. GVSU made its second-straight NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship appearance. The Lakers fell 1-0 to host Wisconsin-Parkside. DiIanni guided the Lakers to a then-school best record of 17-2-2 (.857) in 2003. GVSU recorded its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance as they hosted the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship. GVSU defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 4-0 in the first game before falling, 4-3, to Northern Kentucky in the championship match.

DiIanni joined Grand Valley after seven years as the head coach of the Jackson Lumen Christi High School women’s soccer team. DiIanni also spent three years as an assistant coach at Hillsdale College, where he helped begin the men’s and women’s soccer programs. During his stint at Hillsdale, the women’s team finished fourth in the GLIAC in just their third season. The men’s team was also nationally ranked for one week. DiIanni turned in a 100-19-18 overall coaching record while at Lumen Christi. The Titans advanced to the state finals in 2000, dropping a 1-0 decision to Detroit Country Day. In addition, Lumen Christi made it to the state semifinals three times under DiIanni and to the regional finals twice. DiIanni was a five-time district coach of the year and a four-time regional coach of the year. DiIanni has spent six years working with the Olympic Development Program in Michigan, training and developing the highest level of soccer in the state. He is presently the head coach of the 89 ODP age group. He is also a USSF B-licensed coach, which is highly recognizable among soccer coaches. DiIanni and his wife, Kristy, have a seven-year old daughter, Karissa, and a three-year old named Kelsey.

In 1997-98, she played for the National Training Centre team and was a member of the Ontario Provincial Team for five years. In 2004, Demers graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and in 2009 she graduated from GVSU with a Master’s of Education. A native of Welland, Ontario, Canada, she graduated from Centennial Secondary High School.

Scott modisher comes back for his fifth season behind the bench as an assistant coach for Grand Valley State. modisher helped to coach one of Division II’s top goalkeepers, as Kristina Nasturzio ranked fifth in the nation with a .23 goals against average in 2008 and fourth with a save percentage of .912 in 2008. modisher has also been the varsity girls’ soccer coach at Cedar Springs high School for the past 12 years. modisher started the program, claiming two district championships and reaching the finals once. he is also a two-time district coach of the year selection. Before venturing into high school soccer, modisher spent two years as the assistant women’s soccer coach at his alma mater, hope College. modisher played three years of soccer at hope, starting as a central defender.

Neely is in her first season as a graduate assistant at Grand Valley State University. She is a 2008 graduate of the ohio State University, where she was a fouryear letter winner on the women's soccer team. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in art and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Design. During her time at oSU, the Buckeyes made three NCAA tournament appearances, including an elite eight appearance in 2004. They appeared in the NCAA tournament three times (2002-04) and won the Big Ten Championship in both 2002 and 2004. She was a fivetime oSU Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

2009 OUTLOOK Grand Valley State returns five starters from the 2008 season. The lakers will be losing star forwards Katy Tafler, Ashley elsass and goalkeeper Kristina Nasturzio. eight seniors graduated last season, including six of the 10 GVSU’s players from the All-GlIAC Teams. The lakers’ schedule will take on all GlIAC schools twice in conference play. Grand Valley State starts the season with two non-conference games against ranked teams. GVSU enters the season ranked ninth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll and will take on #6, Columbus State on Aug. 28. Two days later they will face #24 Tampa.

offense The offense will face a significant loss with graduated forwards Katy Tafler and Ashley elsass. Both were first-Team All-GlIAC, and combined for 37 goals and 98 points. Tafler, the three-time Daktronics Division II Player of the Year, has led the lakers the past four years in goals. Tafler is Grand Valley State’s all-time leader in points and goals, and she also set the school’s single-season marks in those same categories. In 2008 she was named GlIAC offensive Player of the Year and GlIAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Taking over Tafler’s duties is senior Irie Dennis. Dennis finished the 2008 season with 11 goals, and 11 assists, for a total of 33 points, third on the team in all categories. Dennis had a team-high six gamewinners in 2008 and was named to the All-GlIAC first-Team. She is currently sixth in career points (70), seventh in career goals (24),

and sixth in career assists (22) in school history. Joining Dennis on the front-line are juniors Jaleen Dingledine and erika Pitroff. Dingledine played in 20 games and scored three goals, while Pitroff played in 22 and notched two goals. Sophomore lindsey marlow played in 12 matches as a freshman and finished the season scoring two goals. Incoming freshmen that will be competing for time will be Kayla Addison, Alyssa mira and maria Brown.

She was Second-Team All-GlIAC, while robinson, notched 2 goals and was first-Team All-GlIAC. Grand Valley State’s midfield will be returning the 2006 GlIAC freshman of the Year, Katie Johnson and 2007 GlIAC freshman of the Year, Kristen eible. Sophomore erin mruz rounds out the returning midfielders. eible started in 22 of GVSU’s 23 games, notching five goals and four assists for a total of 14 points. eible scored two goals in a 7-0 win over Tiffin. eible was also named to the Daktronics All-midwest region Second-Team. 2008 RECAP Grand Valley State University completed its second consecutive perfect regular season in 2008. GVSU rolled out a final record of 22-1-0, which included perfect marks in the regular season (19-0) and in Great lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play (14-0). When all was said and done, the lakers had set a school record for wins in a season (22), and shutouts in a season (19). They also recorded nine consecutive shutouts, which broke the previous Grand Valley State record of seven. GVSU scored 75 goals, while allowing just 5, outscoring opponents by 3.04 goals per game. The lakers started off their season at home taking on Tampa and Southern Indiana. The 2008 campaign got underway, on Aug. 29, when GVSU shut out Tampa 1-0. Irie Dennis scored the only goal of the match, while the lakers’ defense only allowed one shot on goal. Grand Valley State picked up another shutout two days later with a 5-0 win over Southern Indiana. GVSU had five different players score in the match, Dennis scored one of the five goals and added two assists in the win over the Screaming eagles. The lakers went on the road for three non-conference games, starting in Ill., on Sept. 5, taking on Quincy. Grand Valley State won the contest shutting out the lady hawks 2-0. Ashley elsass and erin mruz each scored a goal while Kristina Nasturzio notched three saves in the shutout effort. The lakers added their fourth shutout victory, 1-0, on Sept. 7 over the Tritons of missouri-St. louis. Dennis notched her third game-winning goal of the season with just 8.9 seconds remaining in the contest.

The lakers finally allowed a goal on Sept. 10, but dominated Saint Joseph’s in a 5-2 win. Katy Tafler scored two goals and Dennis added a goal and an assist. Nasturzio played all 90 minutes and allowed her first goal at 30:28 off a penalty kick. GVSU started conference play with a match against ferris State on Sept. 14, and came away with a 3-0 win. Dennis picked up another

game-winning goal, while Tafler and erika Pitroff both recorded one, advancing Grand Valley State’s record to 6-0. Nasturzio notched four saves and picked up another shutout victory. The lakers shut out Northern michigan 1-0 to pick up their second GlIAC win. elssass was the lone goal scorer in the win over the Wildcats. on Sept. 21, GVSU took on Ashland to record its seventh shutout win. Joyce rose notched her first and second goals of the year as the lakers recorded a 4-0 win over the eagles of Ashland. el-

sass added two assists, while Nasturzio only needed one save for the shutout win. Grand Valley State defeated findlay 3-0 on Sept. 26 to give head coach Dave DiIanni his 100th win. Tafler also hit a milestone by scoring her 100th goal 7:57 into the match. Talfer became GVSU’s alltime leader in goals when she recorded her second goal of the game. The lakers’ defense only allowed one shot on goal and recorded their eighth shutout. Two days later GVSU earned their fifth straight shutout beating Tiffin 1-0. Tafler scored the lone goal for the lakers with three minutes left in the match. Grand Valley State dominated Northwood on oct. 3, winning 100 with both Tafler and lindsey marlow scoring twice. Tafler broke the GlIAC record for career goals in the 56th minute scoring the 103rd goal of her career. The lakers’ defense continued its stellar play, holding the Timberwolves to just one shot on goal, while GVSU’s offense took 25 of its own. Grand Valley State shut out its seventh straight opponent defeating Saginaw Valley State 1-0. Nasturzio put together a shutout streak of 650:55 through eight matches with two saves against the Cardinals. Tafler scored the only goal for the lakers, her 11th goal of the season. on oct. 10, the GVSU took on the Wildcats of Northern michigan, defeating them 2-0. Nasturzio came up with two big saves and recorded her 10th individual shutout on the season. Tafler added a goal and an assist while elsass recorded a goal of her own in the match. Grand Valley State out shot Ashland by a 29-4 margin over the course of the game. Back in Allendale on oct. 17, GVSU advanced their record to 15-0 with a 7-1 win over findlay. Tafler, Dennis and elsass each scored twice and mruz added one goal of her own. The lakers came up with another impressive win over Tiffin, recording their 14th shutout. Grand Valley State held Tiffin without a shot on goal and scored five times in the second half in a 7-0 win. elsass scored two goals and added an assist in 47 minutes of action with a win over Northwood 4-0. Kayla Klosterman scored her first goal as a laker and Nasturzio added three saves in 90 minutes. Grand Valley State’s first overtime match of the season came on oct. 26 against Saginaw Valley State. The Cardinals scored first with a goal in the first 10 minutes of play, marking the first time that the lakers trailed all season. meaghan robinson scored in the 56th minute to tie the match and send it into overtime. elsass scored the game-winner two minutes into the extra period to give GVSU an 18-0 record. In the final conference match up the lakers took on ferris State. elsass, rose and Jaleen Dingledine each scored a goal to beat the Bulldogs 3-0. Grand Valley State recorded its 16th shutout while

Nasturzio notched four saves. GVSU closed out the regular season with a 19-0 (14-0) record. In the GlIAC Tournament, the lakers started off against ferris State and once again downed the Bulldogs by a 3-0 margin. Tafler scored twice and Nasturzio tied a season-high five saves. In the GlIAC Championship, GVSU defeated Saginaw Valley State a third time by a 2-0 margin to claim its second consecutive GlIAC Tournament Title. elsass scored two goals while Dennis and Tafler recorded an assist. Nasturzio

picked up another shutout with three saves. Grand Valley State took on Quincy in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, shutting out the lady hawks 2-0. The lakers’ recorded their 19th shutout of the season, setting a school record. Nasturzio collected her 15th individual shutout and notched three saves. Tafler put GVSU ahead at the 17:04 mark with her 20th goal of the season while elsass added an insurance goal with her 17th goal

of the season. In the NCAA midwest regional Championship match, the lakers faced No. 8 Wisconsin-Parkside. The rangers scored on a free kick in the second half to advance to the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals. GVSU had never been shut out at home under head coach Dave DiIanni until the 1-0 loss. Nasturzio had four saves and Tafler led the lakers with five shots, including four shots on goal. The lakers’ season came to an end at 22-1. Grand Valley State had an impressive 2008 season even though it was cut short. The lakers rank third in school history in single season goals (75), and fourth in single season assists (62). GVSU had 10 players on the 2008 All-GlIAC Teams including GlIAC offensive Player of the Year, Tafler, and GlIAC Defensive Player of the Year, Natalja Stanski. head coach Dave DiIanni was honored as GlIAC Coach of the Year. Tafler became GVSU’s career leader in points (269), goals (114), and assists (41). Nasturzio set the GVSU single-season record for goals against average (0.23) and is Grand Valley State’s career leader in shutouts (44). Tafler was named the Daktronics, Inc. midwest region Player of the Year for the third consecutive season. Joining Tafler on first team were elsass, Nasturzio and Stanski. robinson and Kristen eible earned midwest region second team.

GLIAC 2008 finaL GLiac woMen’s soccer sTandinGs

Grand Valley State competes in the Great lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GlIAC) and NCAA Division II. The GlIAC consists of twelve colleges and universities located in michigan and ohio. The GlIAC was founded in 1972. During the two years previous to the GlIAC’s founding, several attempts were made to create a new NCAA College Division conference. In 1971, the Great lakes Athletic Conference was formed, but plans for the new conference were put on hold and several of the participating schools subsequently withdrew their support. The idea for a new conference did not die, however, and since 1972-73 the GlIAC has been a leader in the advancement and promotion of intercollegiate athletics for men and women. Grand Valley was a charter member of the GlIAC, joining lake Superior State, Northwood and Saginaw Valley State to form the conference in 1972. Since then, the GlIAC has expanded throughout the Great lakes region. The GlIAC crowns champions in a total of 19 sports. In addition to women’s soccer, the GlIAC decides titles in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. The GlIAC awards the President’s Cup every year for excellence in all GlIAC sponsored sports. The lakers have won this cup for 11 consecutive years: 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 20002001, 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 200304, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09.

kaTie aLes Ales earned Second Team Daktronics All-American honors following the 2006 season. Ales left Grand Valley State as the all-time leader in games played (84), a record that was broken in 2007. That season, Ales was a part of the Grand Valley State defensive unit that had shutout streaks of seven, six and fives games. They also made it to the NCAA Division II Championship and allowed eight goals all season.

krisTina nasTUrzio Nasturzio earned Daktronics first Team All-American honors in 2006, 2007 and 2008 following stellar seasons. In 2008, Nasturzio backstopped the lakers to a Division II singleseason record 19 shutouts. She also recorded 15 solo shutouts, which ranks fourth in Division II history. During the 2008 season, she posted a shutout streak of 880:01, which is the fifth-best such streak in DII history.

naTaLJa sTanski

sUe chrisTenson Christenson was a Daktronics, Inc. first Team All-American selection during her both her junior and senior years. In her senior campaign, she also added NSCAA Third Team All-American and first Team Academic All-American honors. Christenson was GVSU’s all-time leader in games played (85) when she finished her four-year career. She was a first team all-region selection during her senior season, a season in which the laker defense allowed only 10 goals all season long and finished with a 21-11 record and a trip to the NCAA final four for the second consecutive season.

Stanski was named a 2008 Daktronics, Inc. first Team All-American following a shift from midfield to defense over the offseason. She anchored the top-ranked scoring defense in Division II (.217). GVSU also ranked first in shutout percentage (.826) and allowed just five goals all season. Stanski and the lakers also held opponents to just 57 shots on goal through 23 matches and set an NCAA Division II record with 19 shutouts. She earned All-GlIAC first Team honors and was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year. She was named an eSPN the magazine All-District IV first Team selection.

LAKER ALL-AMERICANS

kaTY TafLer Tafler became a six-time AllAmerican with two more selections following the 2008 season. In that year, she was a Daktronics, Inc. first Team All-American and an NSCAA Third Team AllAmerican. In the two previous seasons, Tafler was a first Team All-American selection for both Daktronics and the NSCAA. She has re-written both the school and conference record books during her four years at Grand Valley State. Tafler became the only player in GlIAC history, and just the 17th player in Division II history, to record at least 40 goals and 40 assists in a career. She ranks third in Division II annals with 114 goals and 269 points. Tafler’s goal and point totals are both school and conference records, as well. She has been named to the NSCAA midwest region first Team all four of her years at Grand Valley State and she has been a Daktronics, Inc. midwest region first Team honoree for the past three seasons. In each of the past three seasons, she has also been selected as the Daktronics, Inc. midwest region Player of the Year. She was a four-time All-GlIAC first Team honoree and was chosen as the conference’s offensive Player of the Year for her final three seasons. During her freshman campaign, she was also chosen as the conference’s freshman of the Year.

MireLa TUTUndzic Tutundzic became Grand Valley State University’s first All-American in 2003 when she was named to the NSCAA All-American Second Team. She is second in career goals scored (75), assists (34) and points (184) in GVSU career history. She also holds the top single-season mark for assists in a season with 14 in 2003. She has more single-season goals than anyone other than Tafler.

koUrTneY wiLLerT Willert was named to the Daktronics All-American first Team following a 2007 season in which Grand Valley State advanced to the NCAA Division II Semifinals. She was a leader on a laker back line that held opponents to just 10 goals during the season. She also helped GVSU out-shoot their opponents by a 328 shot margin. Willert finished the season with two goals and one assist for five points.

LAKER SOCCER

The laker Soccer program began in 1996 and has taken a quick rise to national prominence. The lakers spent much of the year in 2008 ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation and advanced to the NCAA playoffs for the sixth consecutive season. The soccer team claimed their fourth straight conference crown in 2008. The lakers proved their dominance on the field by going undefeated through the regular season for the second consecutive season and taking nine of the 11 spots on the all-conference first team. GVSU also swept the conferences top awards with Katy Tafler being named the offensive Player of the Year, Natalja Stanski being named the Defensive Player of the Year, and Dave DiIanni being tabbed the Coach of the Year. 54

LAKER SOCCER The 2008 campaign saw three lakers earn all-american honors. Kristina Nasturzio, Natalja Stanski, and Katy Tafler were all named first team all-americans. The three players honored in 2008 added to the list of all-americans the GVSU soccer program has produced in just over a decade. In all, GVSU has seen seven players recognized nationally, with a total of 12 all-american awards over the years. The lakers won the midwest region in three of the last four years. GVSU has also advanced to the NCAA final four for soccer in two of the last three seasons with an appearance in the national championship game. The 2008 graduating seniors left the program with a winning tradition with a 81-7-2 record over their four year careers. The soccer program takes pride in more than just winning. The team also posted a combined 3.31 GPA which is the third highest of the Grand Valleyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s 19 athletics programs. Three players on the team also have a cumulative GPA between 3.9 and 4.0.

COACHING STAFF

head coach Dave DiIanni has guided the lakers to a new level in his six years at the helm. In his first season, he brought the lakers to their first-ever NCAA playoff appearance. In his third season, GVSU claimed its first GlIAC title in the programâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s history. In DiIanniâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s fourth season, the lakers made their first-ever appearance in the national championship game. In 2007, DiIanni and the lakers made their first stint as the top ranked team in the nation. he has led the program to six NCAA playoff appearances in as many seasons. DiIanni was named the 2006 NSCAA National Coach of the Year and has been a two-time regional coach of the year. DiIanni is also the coach of the 89 oDP age group and is a USSf-B licensed coach. In his six season as the head coach, the lakers have a 113-14-4 record. erica Demers has spent the last four years as the top assistant coach for the soccer team. In the last four seasons, the lakers have seen their four best goal totals by scoring 75 or more goals in each season, with a high of 88 in 2007. In 2008, the lakers outscored their opponents 75-5 in 23 games. Demers, who played NCAA Div. I soccer for oakland University, was a two-time mid-Con first team selection and was named the mid-Con Player of the Year in 2002. 56

ACTIvITIES

GVSUâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s main campus is located in Allendale, mich. which is located between Grand rapids and Grand haven. Grand Valley also has a downtown campus which is located in the second largest metropolitan city in the state, Grand rapids. Grand haven is home to the Coast Guard festival and is a also well-known attraction because of the beach on beautiful lake michigan. Grand rapids hosts the Celebration on the Grand every fall and is a city full of various events and attractions throughout the year. Grand Valley State also has a very good Student life department which creates events and brings in different musical, comedy, and other acts from around the nation for GVSU students to enjoy.

LAKER SOCCER EXPERIENCE

GVSU is committed to offering its student-athletes an opportunity to participate in some of the best experiences of their lives, while competing in intercollegiate athletics, as well as attending one of the fastest rising universities in the state. The lakers donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t always stay in West michigan to play their games. The soccer team has traveled for tournaments in Colorado and has flown to florida on two separate occasions for the NCAA Division II final four tournament. Grand Valley State also spent its fall camp in 2008 preparing for the regular season by playing exhibition games against european club teams in Germany and Denmark. The lakers were able to tour parts of europe and enjoy the sights while getting ready for the upcoming season. In 2009, the lakers start the season against one of the other top ranked teams in the country when they travel to Tampa, fla. to play the Tampa Spartans.

GRAND vALLEy STATE

Grand Valley State University was established in 1960 in Allendale, mich. entering the 2008 academic year, Grand Valley had a higher enrollment than the year before. That marks the 26th year in a row in which Grand Valley enrolled more students than the previous year. GVSU now boasts a total attendance of 23,892 with over 20,000 of those students being undergrads. Grand Valley State offers 70 undergrad programs with over 200 areas of study. Some of the top programs are Physical Therapy, Nursing, occupational Therapy, Physicians Assistant, Business, and education.

GRAND vALLEy STATE

The GVSU Soccer field is located on-campus in Allendale. The home field for the lakers saw one of the biggest college soccer matches in West michigan when the #3 lakers defeated the #1 Tampa Spartans in the first game of the 2008 season. The lakers hold a strong advantage over their opponents when playing at home. The lakers had a home unbeaten streak of 43 games that spanned from 2005-08. In 2008 GVSU opened the laker Turf Building. The 138,000 square-foot indoor facility has a seating capacity of 800 with a 100 yard sport turf field surrounded by a sixlane track. The building will be used by the movement science classes, intramurals, and athletics teams.
