• Informational Road Block at the Church Parking lot 4:00—6:00. • Education Workshop with Dr. Gabor Mate at the Port Hardy Civic Center. 7:00pm doors open with an 8:00pm start time.
TUESDAY, Nov. 15
• Educational Workshop for all Service Providers and Support Workers with Dr. Gabor Mate at the Port Hardy Civic Center. 9:00—3:00 • Family Fun Swim at the Pool 3:15-4:15 Bus pick up at 3:00 at the youth center. All children not accompanied by an adult must be 7 and older and have a signed permission slip.

municipal elections Every three years everyone in BC elects a mayor &
council (or Regional District Area Director, if they’re not part of a town/city) and a school trustee.
WEDNESDAY, Nov. 16
If you live on-reserve you can vote for a school trustee and area ‘C’ director. See pages 14-15 for candidate information. This election will be held on November 19 from 8am-8pm at the Eke Me-xi School.
THURSDAY, Nov. 17
If you live in town, you can vote for the mayor, school trustee, and six councillors. You can vote at the Municipal Hall (near the Civic Centre) or at the Ft. Rupert School. Here are the voting dates and times: Nov. 9 8am-8pm Nov. 17 9am-4pm Nov. 18 9am-4pm Nov. 19 8am-8pm To be eligible to vote you must be 18+ years old. You have to have lived in BC for 6 months before the vote, and in Port Hardy for at least 30 days before the vote.

• Community Lunch and Information Health Fair 10:00-3:00 Guest speakers, special presentations and an opportunity for community members to share their thoughts about what “Living the Good Life” means.

To vote, just go to one of the voting locations with two pieces of ID, they don’t have to be picture ID. One piece should have your address (a hydro or phone bill would work, as long as your name is on it) but if you don’t have anything with your address on it, you can sign papers instead that swear you are a resident.
