Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Trust Committee
CALL FOR PROPOSALS DUE THIS FRIDAY, DEC. 2 2011 As part of the Culture Grant, approved at an All-Band Meeting in 2011, a HEALING FEAST for the Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw Nations will be held on January 21st, 2011 at the Wa’kas Hall on the Tsulquate Reserve. In order to give community members a chance to benefit from this Healing Feast in as many ways as possible, we are asking for proposals so that we can hire two individuals to help us prepare for this feast. One individual will purchase gifts for the feast, and the other will organize the catering. (See details below) If you would like to submit a proposal for one or both of these positions, please hand it in to Gary Walkus or the front desk at the Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw Band Office, marked ATTN: GARY WALKUS. You can call Gary for more information at (250) 230-2479. The proposals are due by 4:00 p.m this Friday, Dec. 2.
CATERING
Please submit a proposal to do the catering (dinner, dessert, beverages and fruit to hand out) for 800 people. Your price should cover everything, including: Groceries, dishes/utensils/napkins, food preparation, food serving and clean-up. Proposals that include traditional food (fish, seaweed, deer, tli’na, etc.) will be given high priority.
GIFTS
Please submit a proposal to provide gifts for all 800 people at the feast. Your price should cover: The actual cost of the gifts, $150 for travel costs to purchase gifts, your time to purchase gifts, store them, and set them up at the hall on the day of the feast. If your proposal is accepted you will receive 60% of your fee once we go through your receipts to add up to the gift expenditure, and the other 40% after the feast.
