H

appy (early) Mother’s Day to all of you Moms out there! April was a busy month. We had two Forestry Forums, one at the hall on the 16th and one at the (newly renovated and beautiful) Elders’ Centre on the 30th. We had about 50 people for the whole day at the first one, and about 30 at the second one. There were many good things that came out of these forums, and we will be having another one in a month to check up on progress. We also had guests from the UBC School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP) come to our community to visit. We might have some UBC students around this summer to help out with the CCP. If you have comments about this give me a shout! It’s been great to see staff coming out to CCP events, hope to see more of you in the coming days! Gila’kasla, Jessie Hemphill CCP Coordinator

3. Forestry Forum 3 First Week in June GN Elder’s Centre

At the first forum we identified employment & consultation in forestry as major issues. At the second forum, we established community goals in employment and consultation (or ‘guidance seeking’) and figured out some ways to work towards those goals. At the third forum, we (including the forestry companies) will all report back on our progress. Everyone welcome!
