Yo Wiksas? I hope everyone is doing well. Just a little update on the Elder's Program: there have been 30-35 people showing up for the Elder's luncheons. That is awesome to see. I would like to thank Cathy Swain for making a pot of soup, baking bread and donating a couple extra loafs for door prizes. We would also like to thank her for arranging for Claire Travena to come and meet with the Elders. Many of them had some really great questions for her, which she answered quite well. As many of you may know, the Elder'd Conference is coming up July 11-13. However, our Elders will leave July 10 and return on the 14th. Here is the list of Elders that have signed up so far: Mary V. Rufus Alfred Rufus Mary Johnson Doug Johnny Lily Johnny Sally Bruce David Bruce Gertie Walkus Kathy Walkus Willie Walkus Charlotte Walkus Ernie Henderson Mary McDougall Mary Henderson Ernie Hanuse Richard Charlie Harriet Joseph Emma Olsen John King Bob Swain Cathy Swain Rose King Janet Paul Marion Wamiss Simon Walkus (Chink) Clyde Walkus Calhoun Danny Walkus Arlene Johnny Mabel James Harry James

If your name is not on this list and you would like to attend, please come and see me or call me at the Elder's Centre (250) 949-7406. We will be having a special lunch next Wednesday. I will come and see you all the day before to let you know what it is. Please mark your calendars for June 6th 9am-3pm there will be a North Island Elders Ninogad at the Port Hardy Civic Centre. There will be door prizes, gift bags to take home, continental breakfast, lunch & much much more! So please make sure to come. I will send out reminders as well. The Elders catered for a Trust meeting on Thursday. We would like to have a lunch fundraiser very soon. The weather is getting better for car washes now. Please keep your eyes open for notices and posters that will go up for all these fun events the Elders will be having.
