Gwangju Toastmasters Club
Gwangju Toastmasters Club (TM) is a relaxed, alternativestyle Toastmasters club that focuses on building communication and leadership skills. We provide people with opportunities to improve and practice their communication skills with prepared and impromptu speaking roles. Guests are welcome! KONA Storybook Center
KONA Storybook Center (KSC) is a registered research center for English reading education and culture exchange. It supports UNESCO KONA Volunteers (UKV). UKV is a registered organization that helps disadvantaged children to learn English independently through storybooks and story-maps. We guide the family and children to develop a love of reading and to explore foreign cultures. We also give guidance to volunteers in using storybooks. We are looking for long-term volunteers who desire to enrich their lives. We are asking volunteers to commit to helping at least once a month.
Th e days for KONA volunteering and the facilities are as follows: 1. KONA Storybook Center: Saturdays, 10 a.m.– 12 p.m. 2. Children’s English Library: Saturdays, 2 p.m.– 4 p.m. 3. Gwangju Children’s Home: Every 4th Saturday 2 p.m– 4 p.m.

Baseball in Gwangju
Are you interested in playing baseball? Do you enjoy the sport but haven’t had the opportunity to participate here in Gwangju? Well, you are in luck! For the past seven years, the foreign baseball team, the Gwangju Bombers, has been playing competitively in a baseball league in the city. Th e team is always looking for players to add to the roster. Th e team consists of both foreign and Korean players, and plays every Saturday from March to October. Come, play, and have fun!
