Purchase: Amazon, Books A Million Dr. McMillan, you are known for helping people’s dreams become a reality. What inspirational words would you give to people who are trying to figure out how to fulfill their dreams and purpose? We are all facing times that will challenge us and allow us to realize that the excruciating pain is producing our destiny and revealing our true authentic character. I attended women conferences, heard sermons, read social media messages, attended revivals and still carried buried secrets of insecurity, failure, abandonment, and rejection. At the age of 40, I found out that God could rationalize the purpose of my tears and actually make it work out for my good. I learned lifelong courageous affirmations needed to triumph over years of pain. Affirmations such as, “I AM Beautiful”, “I AM Bold”, “I AM an Overcomer”, and “I Am Courageous”. Speaking these powerful words daily over my life changed me from the inside out. Every gift of pain caused by

life now has become the building block to tapping into my hidden gifts. I became a Courageous woman walking in love, peace, freedom and so much joy! Do you have any upcoming books to be released this year? If so, what is the release date? The purpose of the Spiritual Daughters & Sons Movement is to provide a venue for women of all come together to actively: Engage in open discussions with women around the world about life challenges Effectively evaluate and solve problems using biblical strategies to make ethical decisions. Collaborate and demonstrate the desire to love, encourage, motivate, inspire and build other women to progress towards achieving personal and professional goals. In the time that we are living right now with the Covid-19 pandemic happening around the world with a lot of families grieving for the loss of loved ones, loss of jobs/employment, and so many struggling to survive to keep their homes and have food to eat. What words of encouragement would you give to those who are depressed and losing hope? One of my favorite scriptures comes from Mark 10:27: “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God. With God, all things are possible with God.” The key to adjusting to the new normal is changing your mindset and realizing that greater is coming but you can’t give up on your dreams. No matter what, don’t ever allow yourself to doubt or give up. If you give up, you close the door to the miracle that is about to happen in your lives. I encourage you to decide today, that this will be my last bad day and open your mind to experience new possibilities. Declare this: With God, all things are possible for me!

AUTHOR’S SPOTLIGHT

Because authors deserve to shine...

Author / Entrepreneur Please introduce and tell the readers a little about yourself. I am a Wife, Mother of 5, Full-Time Entrepreneur, and in the natural you would call it a Ordained Minister, but I like to just say Servant of the most high GOD. I have been in business for 4 years and ministering for 3 years. I am a native of Dallas, Texas and I couldn't see myself anywhere else. I tried to relocate and found myself right back in Dallas. I love to empower women and help guide them into their purpose. I am also a THRIVER of Domestic Violence . I no longer use the word survivor because I made it past that stage. I truly believe that I am thriving in my calling and that is why my purpose is to reach back to the fire and bring women out of the stage of just surviving , but thriving. I wear many hats. I am also a life coach and prepping to become a Realtor. Many wonder how I do what I do as a mom and wife. I say it’s called grace. Ms. Sikes, you are the CEO of B & B Publishing Company for men and women authors. Please tell us what types of services you offer clients who want to publish their books. OH, We do it all. We are a One Stop Shop literally….. We offer Writers Coaching, Editing , Formatting, Graphic Design, Printing , Ghostwriting , PR and Marketing. You have been named “The Bookologist.” What is the reason you were named “The Bookologist?” Haha….. Well, I have been known to help many women and men with powerful stories in their bellies give birth by being their midwife. Many that we work with are 1st time authors . That is where GOD has graced me the most. We have worked with serial writers, but most of the time the people he sends me are 1st time authors. I walk with them hand and hand from the beginning hence my quote “Go from Idea to Pen to Published in as little as 90 days. Most of the time 1st time authors have no idea how to develop a manuscript let alone even write a book. That is where I come in. I put my superwoman cape on (powered by GOD) and I doctor up those undeveloped stories and make them potential Best Sellers. Many of my clients have become Best Selling Authors. We help identify and bring out the great writers in each author then help them birth out those untold stories and nuggets to shift others into breakthrough. With that being said I earned the name Kendra, the Bookologist by being a Midwife to many that has powerful stories to share with the world.. What sets me apart is I develop a close relationship with my clients and their story to make certain the voice is heard in the right way. I strongly believe that with the amount of competition and noise in the publishing space these days, first time authors are intimidated by the thought of writing a book. Having done exactly that numerous times, I have honed an effective system to help new authors develop and publish a book in as little as 90 days! We also believe in “No client left behind” so we customize packages tailored to each individual personally. I believe that is what sets me apart from other publishers.. We at B&B Publishing Co. strongly believes everyone has a story to tell. There is someone out there that can be empowered by what you’ve got to say. We stand on our beliefs to operate in the spirit of excellence and that is what drives us each day. Our mission is to help you Unlock your past, unpack your story and write to be a light to someone else.

B & B Publishing Company recently created a marketing and consulting program for Authors and soon to be Authors to assist them with building a brand for their books. Can you tell us more about the services offered and where can authors sign up if they are interested in your publishing services? Absolutely , I kind of briefly mentioned this service in the above question, but I would love to go into more detail. Many authors have great stories but lack the proper tools to market their books and get it in front of their target readers. What good is a book if no one reads it? So with my experience and prayer I developed a strategy that assists authors in marketing their book the right way. We help get our authors and their projects on large platforms such as Fox News, NBC and many well known podcasts and radio shows whether on social media or other streams to get it in front of readers.

We also act as their social media manager by engaging and posting to boost the modem to increase sales. Where can people learn more about your services and book you for a consultation? You can reach me at 469-632-6384 or email us at info@garbuniversity.com You can also visit Our website at www. garbuniversity.com Ms. Sikes, you are Best Selling Author of several books. Tell the readers about your books and where they can purchase them. We are all over. You can find them at Amazon.com Walmart.com Target.com Barnes and Nobles Booksellers and more. As a Visionary Coach, what advice would you give to those who feel like giving up before they fulfill their purpose? I would impart the importance of knowing Purpose comes with trials and tribulations. The most successful person has failed at least once or started out very small. Do not despise small beginnings. I am proud of the growth in my business. I started with literally nothing. $0 dollars. Getting to this level of success wasn’t easy. I’ve spent many nights crying and wanting to give up because I felt there were so many other great publishers out there with more experience and money. It was something that didn’t allow me to give up. I had to realize it’s enough room out here for us all to win and I am set apart for a chosen audience. I kept telling myself as long as I show up, not only for myself but for the clients I had and represent my brand with integrity and passion the success would come and it did. I overcame the fear of not standing out by just showing up and giving all that I had and by faith believing that I am great at what I do. I want to encourage others to know if you just show up your light will shine, your voice will echo in the direction of the calling in your life and the clients will come. The lessons I have learned throughout my journey is if I keep GOD 1st the rest would follow. You are a woman of many hats with several businesses that you work on to help people. Please tell the readers about the services you offer clients as a Real Estate Agent, Credit Consultant, life coach and Investor. Also, where can they view more information on all services you offer clients? Yes I am definitely in business of helping others so I created a umbrella of services under my brand Kendra C.Sikes to be of assistance to anyone that needs me. You can find a list of my services and benefits of partnering with us at www.garbuniversity.com What is one of your greatest accomplishments? One of my greatest accomplishments is breaking the cycle and generational curse from my family by operating and growing a successful business from 0 clients to publishing more than 20 authors in less than 1 year from launching. It took a lot of praying, late nights, crying, pressing through the times of wanting to flat out quit and working a full time job to support my vision. It wasn’t easy but I was determined to win! I was determined to break generational cycles of poverty in my family, so my main thought was “I have to do something that will not only impact the lives of others, but also impact my life dramatically. ” I had faith that it would work because GOD called me to the office of entrepreneurship, so the whole time my thought process was that I have to do something different to get different results in my family. Do you have an upcoming conferences, event, or workshops? I have an amazing Anthology book we are releasing at the end of this month “Sounds Of Proclamation” and it will be available on all online outlets . I am also working on another Anthology “From Pure Hell to Fully Healed. We are now still seeking women to join us and collaborate on this project. Information can be found on my facebook page facebook.com/b&bpublishingco Give us some words to educate, inspire, encourage women and all of our readers of Growth Women’s Business Networks Magazine. Ladies, Whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP! Don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on your dreams. If you are experiencing or have experienced hard times it is because there are others called to you and by your suffering and experience you will be strong enough to help them out of their suffering .I know 1st hand. Keep GOD 1st and at the center of your business and you are sure to succeed . Nothing attached to GOD fails. You may fall down ,get back up. Dust yourself off, pick up your crown and GET UP!

Financial Literacy As the pandemic restrictions ease, you may soon begin thinking about bringing back more workers as your business activity picks up. Due to the uncertainty of the economic recovery, however, many businesses are considering adding contractors instead of full-time or part-time employees. Classifying your workers as independent contractors provides more control over your expenses if the recovery is slower than you anticipated. It also can save in benefit expenses and payroll taxes. However, you need to tread with caution. If the IRS determines that you misclassified your employees as contractors, you could end up paying all the employment taxes and benefits that would have been owed to these workers had they been your employee. Depending on the size of your workforce, the cost to your business could be substantial. In determining whether the person providing a service is an employee or an independent contractor, the IRS will review these three categories that deal with a worker's degree of control and independence:

Behavioral. Does the company control or have the right to control what the worker does and how the worker does his or her job? If yes, the worker is an employee. Financial. Are the business aspects of the worker's job controlled by the payer? This includes things like how the worker is paid, whether expenses are reimbursed and whether the employer provides tools and supplies. If yes, the worker is an employee. Type of Relationship. Are there written contracts or employee-type benefits? If contracts are involved, the worker may be a contractor. If benefits such as a pension plan, insurance and vacation pay are made available, the worker most likely is an employee. It's definitely worth exploring if the workers you welcome to your company can be classified as independent contractors. But deciding whether a worker is a contractor, or an employee can get complicated. And there are significant financial consequences for incorrectly classifying a worker. Please call Javis Financial Services at 803.419.1001 if you have questions about how to rebuild your business's workforce and stay away from tax challenges.

Keep Climbing Dreamer till you Reach the Mountaintop! The Cape of Good Hope is a rocky headland on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa. Most tourists who visit this historical landmark complete their exploration by climbing the rocky mountain within the vicinity and my family and I were not going to be the exceptions when we got there. Whilst I was still admiring the ocean and the environs, my energetic boys started climbing the mountain unsupervised. Instinctively, I headed for the mountain and intended to quickly catch up with them. Every muscle in my body started aching and so did my lungs. Occasionally I would stop to consider how far I had ascended and to summon some motivation regardless of the sharply inclining rocky terrain ahead. I had a compelling reason to conquer this mountain. I wanted to tell the story of conquest for myself and since my boys had gone before me, nothing was going to stop me. Doing business in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic is like climbing a rocky mountain in many ways particularly for businesswomen. As you reflect on how far you have ascended, on how many other climbers have quit and on how much the rocky terrain ahead is stacked against you, you will need a compelling reason to keep climbing till you reach the top. As you reflect, you will have a million reasons to quit. The pain and suffering you will be experiencing will be real and yet there is an inner voice that represents your potential urging you on. As I persevered beyond my physical limits, I vividly recall the joy that filled my soul when I joined the youthful boys at the top. As my family and I victoriously descended full of mountaintop experiences, I recall encountering two muscular men resting on a rock who were on their way up. One of them curiously asked “How far is it from here to the top and what is there at the mountain top?” All I could do was to encourage them to continue because I wanted them to experience the same feeling of conquest. To my greatest disappointment, one of the men decided to join us on the way down. What a missed opportunity and a source of regret in the future! Martin Luther King Jr once said, “If you can't fly, then run, if you can't run, then walk, if you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving....” The achievement of daily, monthly, annual and long-term goals is a form of mountaintop experience for each one of us. Each one of us has a unique mountain to conquer and the only way we do it is by keeping moving from one mountaintop to another till one day, we conquer Mount Everest.

Let us pursue our dreams focusing on the top, the best view comes after the hardest climb. Tafadzwa Mazibuko Contributing Writer Website: www.tafadzwamazibukospeaks.co.za Amazon:www.amazon.com/author/tafadzwamazibuko

AUTHOR’S SPOTLIGHT

Because authors deserve to shine...

KIMBERLY STRATTON Please introduce and tell the readers a little about yourself. I am Pastor Kimberly Stratton; born and raised in Delaware; lived many years in Pennsylvania and currently I reside in Florida. I have an amazing Mom, a best friend and 7 wonderful godchildren. I love the other people that God has placed in my life: a loving and supportive church home/church family in Florida, a circle of Prayer Warriors, Mothers of Wisdom/Mothers of Zion, great mentors and a host of faithful and dedicated friends, family and loved ones. If there is one thing that people should know about me or take away from this feature, it is that I am a servant of God, here to fulfill His purposes and plans for my life and I walk in St. Luke 2:49 – I must be about my Father’s business. Pastor Kimberly Stratton, you are a well-renowned Author that captivate the readers with your books. When did you become an Author and what inspired you to write books? I have been writing all of my life. When I was younger, writing was a way of escape. I did not know that my pieces of paper, my journals, notebooks, etc. were telling my story. I had been writing books all along and did not know it until God revealed. To date, as an author, God has allowed me to self-published 6 of my books. I am working on completing my 7th book, simultaneously starting my 8th and God has other co-author books in store. In this process, God has allowed me to start a consulting and publishing company called The Crown And Cross Publishing Co LLC. We have a full range of services that can be viewed at ww.kimberlystrattontheauthor.com Tell the readers about your newly released book, “Yet Will I Serve Him.” What is the book about and its purpose? Do you remember every single detail of your life from the second you were born? Neither can I; however, I will give you the graphic truth and detailed highlights in my autobiography. Through the trials, tribulations, backstabbing, tears, fears and trying to remove the noise from others as well as myself from inside of my head, I faithfully served God. I was talked about across the pulpit, used, experienced jealousy from saints of God including church leadership; saints told by church leaders to no longer interact with me when God released me from their ministry, attempted to be manipulated by ministries and at times shunned; sexually propositioned by a Pastor and a Deacon, a handful of saints who physically jumped up in my face and still I pressed on. I am not the only one who has experienced these things and I will not be the last but it is time to stop the cycle. God told me to share my experiences to help others heal, gain strength, courage, deliverance most importantly to forgive and continue to follow and serve Him. If someone would like to order copies of your book, where can they purchase them? Even though my books are on various sites including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo as well as international sites, it is best to contact me directly for personalized copy(ies) at kimberlystrattontheauthor@outlook.com or text me at 717-623-4321.

Our website: www.internationalHOPEinc.com , www.facebook.com/ InternationalHOPEInc and Instagram @international_hope_inc Pastor Kimberly Stratton, I know as part of your ministry work you share God’s Word on several platforms such as FB Live and various podcasts. What made you to start with online ministry to share God’s Word? On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, I had just dropped my Mom off to work and I was at a traffic light praying to God. I asked Him what more could I do for His people. Some may have said I was already doing enough but not in my eyes. God replied to start It’s StoryTime on FB LIVE to share and spread His Word. I wanted to be obedient and on May 14th of 2021, It’s StoryTime will be on FB LIVE for 3 years – and I am looking towards more.

What word of encouragement and hope would you give to people during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic? No matter what it looks like, trust God. I have had family, friends and loved ones lives taken due to COVID. Drawing nearer to God has helped us get through. Pre and post COVID my word of encouragement remains the same – trust God no matter what. What is one scripture you would give to those who are losing faith because of everything that is happening in this world? Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Tamara Brown Interviewed By Jennifer Diaby

Please introduce and tell the readers a little about yourself. My name is Tamara Brown professionally known as T. Brown Master Natural Skin & Haircare Formulator. I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. I am a mom of 3 beautiful children, wife, & so much more. I am extremely ambitious which can be a blessing and a curse. I love watching scary movies and reading urban fiction. Ms. Brown, you are the Founder & CEO of JAK’s Essentials? Please tell us about your company and what products and services you offer your customers? JAK’s Essentials is a 100% all-natural handmade skincare company providing products specially formulated to target common skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne. My products range from soaps, scrubs, butters, facial care, and I even have a line for babies toddlers and children have now added JAK’s Private Label Manufacturing along with teaching formulation to those eager to learn. Under JAK’s Private Label I create and develop products for others to brand as their own. I provide business services for other wellness and cosmetic businesses.

What year was JAK’s Essentials opened and where is it located? JAK’s Essentials was founded in September of 2016. I opened my brick and mortar May of 2020, which is located at 114 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 What inspired you to start JAK’s Essentials? I started formulating products for my children. Like many mothers out there I started at home in my kitchen because I need to find a solution because not one, but all my children suffered from hypersensitivity and severe eczema. Nothing lights a fire like being a mother and feeling helpless when your children are suffering. I knew there had to be a professional way of creating products, so I researched and started taking classes to fully develop my skills and knowledge on formulating natural skincare. The passion grew like wildfire and I was determined to keep going and turn it into a business. I developed the Spa Baby line which comes with a botanical baby powder, my amazon best seller the Musky Baby Underarm deodorant and my very first product Baby Butter. I know have 5 product lines for the entire family!

Ms. Brown, I know you also create and formulate hair care and skin care products exclusively for your client’s brand. Please tell us why you created this services for your clients? In 2018 I was approached by a doctor asking if I knew how to make a feminine wash out of the herbs she used on her patient’s yoni steams. Of course, I was able to develop it for her. Shortly after she had referred me to her other peers to have products developed. I was honored that medical professionals were recognizing me as their go to for natural product development. Since then I have developed several lines for over 13 different professionals in various fields. In doing this I knew I had to create another extension of the JAK’s business to accommodate the growing demand. So, I did!

Tell the readers about some of your products and where can they view more about the products along with your services? JAK’s products aren’t just natural they are also vegan. I often tell my customers and clients that they could eat them. It will not taste good, but they could eat it LOL. I pride myself of running a fully transparent company. This means that for every product I list exactly what is in it, Nothing more, nothing less. I want my customers to know and trust that they are getting the very best. They can learn more about my products and services by either visiting me locally at the store or by visiting the websites www.jaksessentials.com or for private label www.jaksprivatelabel.com What advice would you give to those who are thinking about starting a business? If you don’t love it don’t’ do it!!!! I say this because it is not for the weak. There are bad dark days where you want to give up and throw in the towel. There are days where you are so tired and stressed that you think you are having a heart attack. Since starting my business I have developed high blood pressure. I have to find ways to destress and relax. I mean I opened a store in the middle of a worldwide pandemic with every dime I had so stressed is an understatement. But because I absolutely love what I do, my faith in God and know that this is my purpose I will endure it because although there are those dark days, there are plenty of beautiful moments. Those days that seem so dark someone will call or leave a review that gives me confirmation that the storm wont last. Love what you do, remain faithful and let God take you through it. How do you find balance between your personal life and your life as a business owner? I have to be honest; it has been a struggle separating the two. But as business grows, I am almost in a position to be able to hire some help. When your business is a baby you have to nurture it and that means sometimes more than 8-hour work days. It is non-stop. I am blessed to have a strong foundation and supportive family who understands what I am trying to build. You recently did a relaunch for JAK’s Essentials. What new services will you be offering clients? I launch JAK’s Essentials in 2016, so I can understand why some think the launch that took place in February was a relaunch. It was actually the launch for T. Brown & JAK’s Private Label Manufacturing, which both are subsidiaries of JAK’s Essentials. Under these two subsidiaries I provide clients with business layout, product development, product feedback and reformulation, custom formulations, classes, and business coaching. Do you have any upcoming conferences, events, or workshops? Absolutely! Starting April this year, clients, consumers, and anyone wanting to learn to formulate will be able to register for my face to face class that will start in May. I have partnered with Feeding Finlay for their summer water drive for the homeless. I am taking cases of water as donations that can be dropped off at the store during business hours. Every 4th Saturday Thee Collective Connection hosts small business meet and greets for small business, entrepreneurs, and influencers to share, network, and grow their following.

Women Wellness Self-Care in Progress: How to Make Taking Care of You a Priority

10 Attributes of the Right Therapist I’ve heard many times that It’s difficult to seek out therapy let alone pick a therapist. The tips below are some insights into picking someone who is the right fit for you:

The right therapist will: ●Allow you to talk and be heard; you will leave the room knowing that you got to “spill your guts and unload.” ●Has great communication skills. He or she will be able to communicate to you effectively what patterns of behavior are causing issues and what skills you can use to cope. ●Will be flexible with your timeframes; he or she will attempt to accommodate your schedule and will block out time for you or will refer you to a therapist taking new patients. ●Will demonstrate empathy and acceptance. The personal views of your counselor are not center stage; they will not impress their beliefs upon you or minimize your beliefs. ●Will empower you to make positive changes in your thinking and behavior. They will allow you to be the expert on you but will be able to help you gain perspective on issues and problems. ●Will promote balance: spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. ●They will assist in problem solving but not give advice. ●Will be easy for you to talk with. You will feel safe to open up and share problems. Before you even realize, you will identify new insights and resolutions to help you move forward. ●Can tell you if they can not answer your questions or will steer you towards a better therapist to target you issues. They will do research to provide you with the best level of care. ●Confront your self-sabotaging behaviors in a genuine and authentic manner; they will hold you accountable to growth and change. Finding a therapist is akin to the start of a great adventure! Focus on the journey! You’re well on your way towards the destination of “contentment.” Article By: Victoria Henry, MS, LMHC Contributing Writer

Serwah Armah-Koranteng A little bit about myself and what I do. I am from Ghana, West Africa currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina. I am a Fundraising Fashion Event Coordinator, Social Entrepreneur, Overseas Ministry Partner and International Coordinator for exchange students. I came to the United States of America as an exchange student 20 years ago and decided to establish myself to help my siblings come to the U.S. I have a business called AfricStyle Initiatives, LLC and I have been in business since 2016. AfricStyle promotes the rich Culture of Africa while promoting local entrepreneurs through fundraising, fashion, and networking events which are organized twice a year. (Motto: Bridging cultures, one event at a time with opportunities for entrepreneurship). My fashion shows are twice a year and part of the proceeds benefit my local community and overseas vendors/partners. Each year, my schedule permits two major fashion shows and six opportunities to be a vendor where I showcase my designs and products. The products are (clothing, accessories, home decor, all with African print fabric) that I showcase in the fashion show and vendor events are 40% made by me in the U.S. and 60% overseas. As a social entrepreneur my job is to find opportunities to create entrepreneurs. So I connect with U.S. businesses, organizations, and manufacturers who have interest in building business partnerships overseas to consider bringing in products made by vendors I have connected with or help them build their own business partnerships and create sustainable business for themselves and families. There are many business opportunities in Ghana especially in the cocoa, oil, gold, and fashion industries. Due to the high unemployment rate in Ghana as a social entrepreneur, my job is to create avenues for employment. I am always looking for partners and sponsors to help young people learn a skill or make use of their skill by producing and selling. The little I can do with my platform is support financially with their seed money to produce products that benefit my platform, which is the fashion and networking events with proceeds going back to support them. I have 6-10 established vendors/manufacturers between Ghana, Kenya and South Africa that I have worked with in the past five years in business. AfricStyle events are always the first weekend in February (heritage month celebration) and the last weekend in July (back to school drive for community students). As an Exchange Student Coordinator, the organization I work with brings high school students from overseas and my job is to find them host families who live and exchange their experiences with the student for 4 weeks to a year depending on the students’ traveling permit. This is a great way in bridging the American and International cultures. We have had families build relationships with their student’s family, which has allowed their host families the opportunity to visit overseas. We are one people, different colors, nationalities, and races. Regardless of where we find ourselves, we can make a difference. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16.

Latoya Washington Latoya Washington born in the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, raised by her biological mother Veeta Bonner and stepfather Jimmie Bonner. As a child, she would write short stories, poems and would use words to encourage her peers. Whenever she faced a roadblock or obstacle, she would use a pen and paper to help her persevere. She would take the blistering winds of life and write it on paper. After experiencing abuse, homelessness, rejection, loss and near death, she used each experience to encourage others through her writings. God began to deposit words not only for short stories, but blessed her creativity to write songs, sermons, plays and children's stories. Latoya continues to write and allows the Lord to guide her pen. Latoya hopes each poem in this book, shows how the love of God helped her to push through the vicissitudes of life. Though each circumstance tried to smother and choke the seeds of love that God deposited in her. She continued to blossom and rise above the ashes, remaining genuine and unique, as a concrete rose. Broken Vessels will reveal the deep places of the author’s heart and how every struggle was used to help her endure. Latoya’s shows how Christ’s love and correction helped to bring her complete healing and wholeness. God purified, refined, and defined her into a willing, broken, and open vessel! Latoya Washington currently resides in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania with her loving husband, David Washington. They run a small t-shirt business, "RhemaCreationz" that incorporates scripture with modern fashion. The couple collaborated their vision, ideas, and personal convictions to improve the moral and economic depravity in the community. After working a combined fifteen years of serving local youth in the Harrisburg and Philadelphia community. The couple came together to build the brand, RhemaCreationz. RhemaCreationz is a brand designed to equip, motivate, encourage, and exalt others with the Word of God. By incorporating scripture to creatively express God’s will and plan for his people.
