LILBURN — Though Tony Tutton has a son and a daughter who attended Brookwood High School and they participated in many support activities at the school’s football program, he’s never had a child who has actually played for the Broncos. In fact, he’s never been affiliated with the program in any official manner. Yet for the last 25 years, there is nobody — with the possible exception of a coach or support staff member here or there — who has been more of a fixture at Brookwood football

Man attends 316 straight Brookwood football games

Gwinnett County high schools are doing slightly better on the College and Career Ready Performance Index this year, but the average scores for the county’s elementary and middle schools dipped a little bit. The CCRPI scores show how well a school is doing at preparing students for college or careers. It can also show how much improvement schools are making while providing a way to hold them accountable for meeting state education standards. Gwinnett County’s average high school score is 80.9, while the state average for high schools is 73, according to the school system. Last year, the county’s average high school score was 80.7. The district did not release a full school-by-school breakdown of CCRPI scores, but officials said Meadowcreek High School’s score increased by 12.1 points while the Gwinnett Online Campus’ high school score went up by 11.6 points. Despite the overall gains at the high school level, school system officials said the average overall scores dropped at the elementary and middle school levels. The elementary school score was 82.3, which is down from 83 last year. Meanwhile, the middle school score was 80.9,
