among the trees for at least a year, according to Medical Examiner Dr. Carol A. Terry. The deer hunter made the discovery on Tuesday around 3 p.m., several hundred yards off the road. Police announced it Wednesday morning as recruits,

homicide investigators and crime scene technicians were descending on the overgrown woods for Day 2 of the search. “It is still unknown if this is related to a criminal event,” Cpl. Michele Pihera of the police department said. “Members of the Homicide Unit will investigate this case as a crime unless the evidence leads elsewhere.”

BUFORD — Each day this school year, Principal Richard Holland left home for a school he loved, a school he opened 12 years ago and a school where he worked with some colleagues of two decades. Holland, who has worked in education 37 years, including 32 in Gwinnett, loved these days at Jones Middle School. But one thing has been bothering him each morning.

“I’ve hated saying goodbye to her,” he said. She is Holland’s new bride, Lisa. Now, aside from some final official duties with meetings and a speech next week, Holland’s days of saying goodbye each morning to Lisa are over. In the video, two men huddle by a grocery store aisle with a white light glowing between them. They are in a hurry. It’s dark inside La Jalisco Super Carniceria on Buford Drive in Lawrenceville — until the flash. The men have what Gwinnett County fire officials believe may be Molotov cocktails. Whatever they are, they explode with violent flames that shoot up from the ground, dancing quickly back and forth. Capt. Tommy Rutledge, spokesman for the fire department, said Wednesday that investigators are reviewing the footage and trying to determine who’s behind a recent spate of arsons at the grocery. There have been three this month, each escalating in severity until the most recent one, which happened Monday around 12:30 a.m. Rutledge said at least five men, believed to be Hispanic, entered the back door. “We believe they kicked in the door that was boarded up from the previous fire on the 16th of May,” he said. “They are seen throwing several homemade explosives devices in the center of the store to ignite contents on fire.” The first incident was on May 2 around 8 a.m. An employee came to work to find a gasoline-soaked mop burning and leaned up against the back door, Rutledge said. On May 16 around 8 a.m., there was a fire outside in an attached refrigeration unit.
