Experts: Gwinnett student projects grow more advanced

Multiple agencies in Gwinnett are awaiting results of toxicology reports as they continue to investigate a triple fatal fire in the Tucker area. Gwinnett County Fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a statement on Saturday afternoon that the results from those labs and the Medical Examiner’s Officer are necessary before the case can be resolved. Crews responded to the fully involved fire in the 1000 block of Pointer Ridge in the Tucker area late in the evening on Feb. 9. On the afternoon of Feb. 10, Rutledge said, “Fire investigators say that burn patterns and witness accounts match their findings and that no foul play is suspected at this point.” He added that that information was preliminary and the exact cause of the fire was still undetermined and under investigation by the fire department. Saturday’s statement comes after investigators from public and private agencies visited the Pointer Ridge home on Thursday to collect remains of the house and other items for analysis by private engineers, Rutledge said. Gwinnett fire and police departments, as well as the district attorney’s office and an insurance company were among the organizations represented. “Fire investigators are now … trying to
