BOC OKs amended HUD plan By Curt Yeomans curt.yeomans@gwinnettdailypost.com

Gwinnett County commissioners gave their blessing to change the county’s revised 2012-16 action plan for two federal programs offered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Tuesday. The county wants to redirect more than $2 million from HUD-funded projects to pay for additional projects and programs across the county. The plan outlines uses for $2.02 million in Community Development Block Grant funds and $55,462 in Emergency Solutions Grant funds. The commission’s decision clears the way for Chairman Charlotte Nash to sign the revised plan so it can be submitted to HUD. “These amendments will allow us to recapture funding from projects that have been completed or proposed that were under budget or delayed and reallocation those funds to pending projects,” Chief Finance Officer Maria Woods told commissioners at their work session.
