LOGANVILLE — There are fast starts and then there’s the start Grayson got off to Friday night in the first round of the Class AAAAAA state football playoffs. Dimetrios Mason ran back the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. The Rams then forced a three-and-out by Wheeler and scored three plays later on a 14-yard touchdown by Cameryn Brent and never looked back. Brent finished with 189 yards rushing and two touchdowns as Grayson cruised to a 38-10 victory over Wheeler to remain unbeaten. Grayson (11-0) will host
Valdosta (8-3) next Friday in the second round, after Valdosta defeated North Cobb 21-16 on Friday. “Dimetrios ran the opening
kickoff back for a touchdown and we got some momentum,” Grayson head coach Mickey Conn said. “We got a stop on defense, got the
ball back and went right back down and scored. Real proud of the way the guys played, the way they came out.” Grayson added two touchdown passes from Chase Brice to Ernest Tiller and Austin Nash in the first half. Wheeler got on the board with a 58-yard touchdown run by Corey Stovall Jr. in the second quarter to cut the lead to 21-7. Grayson answered back with a 65-yard touchdown grab capped off by Brice’s 11-yard pass to Nash. The Rams tacked on a 45yard field as time expired at the end of the first half for a 31-7 lead. Stovall had 112 yards rushing at the half on 10 See RAMS, Page 4A
