PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Francine Wild of Albuquerque, New Mexico, one of the founders of Startrack Kennels, passed away on February 16, 1993 following heart surgery. She had been ill for many years, and her one wish was to have been able to attend another Nationals, her last one having been 1986 in Arizona. She loved the breed with fervor, and protected "her" breed with zeal. The

ers. If anyone has lost a wire, found a wire, knows of a wire being held in the pound, and most importantly, knows of someone wishing to give a wire a home, please let Linda Strothman (508) 249-8360 know as well as your local club, if you have one in your area, and Barb Hein (313) 627-3566, our breeder referral representative. As head of the National Rescue, Linda keeps an on-going list of rescue wires available for placement around the country and also accumulates the names of individuals who are willing to receive a rescue. Rescue wires are generally spayed/neutered prior to r_elocation. I often receive inquiries from around the country for wires, and after questioning as to what activities they are interested in doing with their wire, I always explain about our rescue organization and direct them through the Rescue first. Linda has reported that she has been able to replace a number of wires successfully. I know that many local clubs also have their own rescue; however, if these representatives could coordinate with Linda as to availability of wires for replacement and/ or individuals willing to adopt a rescue wire, perhaps we will be even more successful in obtaining permanent homes for these unwanted animals which "we" have allowed to be born

Detroit Club has everything well in hand. Look for more detailed information in this issue! If you have not received the information packet sent out by the Fort Detroit club, please contact Barb hein immediately. It is anticipated that this Nationals will be the biggest entry ever - and we hope to see everyone there.
