gwyllim jahns debut childrens book ‘mole’ is the most critically acclaimed piece of mole literature since duncton wood. translated into four different languages including mauri, ‘mole’ was initially inspired by an elephant losing his balloon. originally a prolific 150 page long novel featuring an internal dialogue between mole and his rapidly cooling cup of echo, ‘mole’ was drastically edited to a more digestable 13 pages following close scrutiny by the 3-4 year reader group. for his work on ‘mole’ jahn has won the miles franklin award and been shortlisted for the 2009 booker prize. first published in north fitzroy on june the 10th
