Spread across two 5 story, 68 unit development serves 3,300 SF of retail and private parking that respects the surrounding town homes and adjacent apartments. A mixture of One to three bedroom apartments offices a variety of habitats that reflect the diverse necessity for the urban metropolis. Residents are invited to relax on the terrace spaces that look out to the city and enjoy various amenities.
Located in Newark, NJ at 810 Broad Street. Indigo Hotel, a historic building, in Downtown Newark is being converted into a 12 story mult-family use with a new redesigned ground floor and 3,608 SF space for a gym and wellness spa rooms on the basement floor. With 90 units ranging from studios, one bedroom, and two bedrooms.
Located on the tip of Manhattan, NY the 29,481 SF roof building features a new space for the occupants to view the New York skyline over the Hudson River. This project explores different glass systems and understanding various curtain wall options to maximize the space.
This project focuses on the city of Rio de Janeiro as a case study in the metropolitan scale. Based on the characteristics of the territory with the geographical, urban, architectural , economic, environmental, and public policy perspectives. In particular, the project is locally focused in Largo do Botecario, the Apothecary Square, in the neighborhood of Cosme Velho, Rio de Janeiro. The site analysis is studied through a global to local scale. It analyzes the world and Brazil through different categories such as, infrastructure, environmental conditions, sociological perspective, and political issues of the in various scales each relating back to one another through a series of cause and effect of an overall filter of corruption followed in the next page.
Olympic events not only had environmental impact but affected the people of Rio de Janeiro. Events between 2009-2013 Olympic games affected 67,000 people to be displaced from their homes & relocated to a housing program called “Minha casa Minha vida” which translates to
“my home, my life.” The Olympics affected major cities such as Copacabana, Ipanema, Tijuca, Jacarepagua, and etc that are located in the blue circles. Removal of favelas were mainly from the South, Central, and the North Zone of Rio. These new housing programs which was a Federal Governmental Program forced many people to move far away from their jobs and family members creating many disadvantages.
Situated in Harlem between W139 street and 140 street. Facing in front of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. This project explores the relationship between the community and it’s residents. The project centers on analyzing the relationship between the Harlem community and residents. In order to relieve the tension between the two and coexist with one another. The project explores a range of different spatial typologies that include mixed court yards, various terrace conditions, typical double-loaded corridors, compact conditions and communal grounds and circulation.
