St Petersburg/Sarasota, Florida January 24-27, 2019 A glass extravaganza is waiting for you in beautiful St. Petersburg and Sarasota, Florida! The Great Glass Getaway starts on Thursday January 24th with a preview dinner and MasterWorks Auction of over 40 spectacular works from some of the most noted collections in America. The auction will be conducted by Gregory Bator, our celebrity auctioneer and entertainer - offering a fun and very memorable event. Friday morning, we will board our deluxe busses from the New Hyatt Place (*hotel details below*) in downtown St. Petersburg and travel to The Ringling Museum in Sarasota. We will be met at the Kotler/Coville Pavilion by Phil and Nancy Kotler, who will give us a personnel tour. We will then head to the Ringling College of Art and Design to view selected highlights of the Richard and Barbara Basch collection in their named gallery. Lunch will follow while viewing John Miller’s “Food-O-Rama” Mobile Glass Experience featuring an exhibit of his California Funk, N.Y. Pop, over- sized glass food display. At this time, John will demonstrate his consummate glass making skills in the recently opened hot shop located in the Basch Visual Art Center at the college. We will conclude our day at the Ringling College with talks by Latchezar Boyadjiev and John Miller, whose work you will see on Saturday at Habatat Galleries Pop-Up exhibition in St. Petersburg. Friday evening in St. Petersburg, dinner will be on your own to explore the many restaurants in the downtown area.

Open late January through late March
Hab atat P op-U p S pac e Saturday morning you will take a short bus ride to view Habatat Galleries Pop-Up presentation showcasing three generations of artists working with glass world-wide.
The Founders Exhibition pays homage to the pioneers of Studio Glass. Most of the artists in this exhibit are no longer working, giving collectors a chance to acquire rare vintage works.
The second exhibition involves artists that brought studio glass the exposure needed to make museums and major collectors interested in the potential of this material. This group has many of the most popular International artists creating today.
The third exhibit presents artists whose exposure to the public was not realized until 2010 or later. We leave it up to you to determine if this is the future of studio glass. The exhibit includes artists who have worked out of the main stream, have been geographically isolated, or have only recently come on to the scene.
Together these three exhibits form a historic view into the evolution of studio glass world-wide.
Saturday afternoon we will travel by bus to visit the studio of Marlene Rose to view her latest work.
