LETTER FROM EDITOR Dear Readers, Recent blocking of many popular TV channels on cable TV networks is leading to a boom in sales of smuggled Indian satellite receivers in Pakistani markets. As per the findings of the survey, it was learnt that leading Indian brands including TATA Sky, Dish TV and Sun Direct are being openly sold in local markets for Rs. 8,000 including the digital satellite receiver and a small Ku band antenna. Monthly subscription of service is Rs. 700 for 200 channels that include many pure Hindu religious channels while many others promote vulgarity and Hindu culture, thus destroying the morality of young generation. PEMRA, the national broadcast watchdog, started a crackdown on the cable operators by ordering them to close all unlicensed channels, when Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry ordered blocking of Indian channels, while hearing the petition on blocking of some news channels by cable operators on 13 August 2010. The SC ordered PEMRA to ensure broadcast of all local news channels and blocking of Indian channels. TV viewers complain that PEMRA while implementing SC's order, has forced cable operators to stop broadcast of many free to air (FTA) channels that were neither Indian nor promoting any vulgarity. If the smuggled Indian satellite receivers are used domestically then it is government responsibility to take action, however PEMRA takes action against its commercial usage.

FRANCE 24 TO PROVIDE ROUND THE CLOCK ARABIC SERVICE The Arabic-language channel France 24 passes to 24h daily broadcast. Less than four years after its launch in December 2006, France 24 is the first French channel to provide a channel in Arabic entirely dedicated to international news. From a broadcast of four hours per day since April 2nd, 2007, the chain had grown to 10 hours per day in April 2009. Faithful to its original mission, France 24 will propose a French perspective of the world's events which is to recognize the diversity of the world through its opinions, its religions and to grant an important place to culture by focusing on debates and confrontation of ideas. Primarily intended for Arabic-speaking viewers of the Middle East and of North Africa, the chain will also be widely broadcasted in France, in Europe and in Africa through Hot Bird, Arabsat and Nilesat satellites. Since its launch, France 24 has continued to expand its market shares among opinion leaders. With 20 millions viewers per week in Europe / Middle East / Africa (EMEA), France 24 is already attracting 2.6 million opinion leaders, including 1.6 million in North Africa and 1 million in the Middle East. According to a TNS-Sofres study in October 2009, 80% of the opinion leaders in the Middle East were in favor of a 24H Arabic broadcast on France 24. Based on the studies carried out, the percentage of opinion leaders in the Middle East who watch France 24 reaches 17%, that is 50% more than the average in other parts of the world.

SUN & RELIANCE DTH SHARE FTA CHANNELS In a move to save transponder costs, 2 DTH platforms - SUN Direct and Reliance BIG TV have entered into an arrangement to share their Free-To-Air channels. Almost 60 FTA channels (in MPEG-4) are being shared using 2 transponders on the Measat-3 satellite. The move was confirmed by Mr Tony D'Silva, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Direct. "We have been sharing transponders for the past one-and-half months and almost 60 channels including the FTA are jointly beamed," he is reported to have told the press. Reliance BIG TV was less forthcoming. "We are evaluating. We have some arrangement with them," said Mr Sanjay Behl, CEO of Reliance Big TV. No financial details of the sharing pact were available. Reliance BIG DTH operates its entire DTH platform from the MeaSat-3 bird. SUN Direct has been forced to shift all but 2 of its DTH transponders to Measat-3, after half the power system of the INSAT4B failed a few months ago. Sun Direct has a subscriber base of 5.8 million, while smaller rival Reliance Big TV has a base of around 2.5 million.

ECHOLINK EL-7020 HD
MANHATTAN PLAZA XT-CM
The 7020's appearance may be somewhat undistinguished, but everything you need is here. On that bland fascia are an informative 13-character fluorescent display and a sensible control panel. In addition to the standby button is a joypad for channelchange and volume. In conjunction with two further buttons – 'menu' and 'OK' – full access to the menus is possible without the remote. On the right is a small pull-down flap that hides the CI and card slots. What a pity there's no convenient front-panel USB port. The remote is solidly built but its layout could be better. Some of the buttons are too small and crowded. On the rear panel in addition to the usual LNB input/ output are the USB port for PVR use and firmware upgrades. There's also an RS232 terminal. The HDMI port and component ports are complemented by Scarts for TV and VCR, plus composite/S-video outputs and analogue/digital audio outputs.
It's a budget option, but the single-tuner XTCM's blind search functionality puts that of some more expensive receivers to shame. You get a single common interface, two card readers, DiSEqC 1.0/1.2/USALS and SCR support, TV/VCR Scarts, and a DVBcompliant, seven-day ready EPG (but no ability to schedule the timer) and teletext. General setup is simple. It's infuriatingly easy to overshoot menu options while the receiver catches up. Regular searching exceeds our expectations – automatic (with network and all/FTA-only searches), plus a manual single-transponder option with the ability to enter PIDs and FEC. A nice touch is the audible signal strength meter. Flexible then, but all pales into insignificance when compared with the powerful blind search features. As with the other modes, you can choose all or FTA-only channels and search a selected range of frequencies. Blind searching can be restricted to horizontal or vertical channels if you don't need both.

Can You Get Local Channels With Satellite TV? Many people believe that if you sign up for a satellite TV package you won't be able to have your local channels. This is a rumor that has been going around for a long time about satellite TV. The good news is that it is just a rumor. Years ago it was more difficult to get local channels with a satellite package, but that is not the case anymore. Most people can understand why it would be a negative to not have access to their local channels. People want to be able to see their local news and TV shows. With the knowledge that this rumor is false, it is difficult to think of a good reason not to switch over to satellite television service.
Not only can you receive your local channels, but your service won't change even if you move to a new area. You will NOVEMBER
have access to the same programming, the same packages, the same channels... and the best part? You will have access to this for the same price no matter where you live. Cable services can vary a lot depending on where you live. The price will absolutely vary depending on the provider and the area. And the programming will vary as well. The cost of living in different areas of the country can change a lot depending on whether or not you are in a small rural town or a big and expensive city. Satellite TV is affordable and is offered to everyone at the same pricing plans. The rumor about local channels was probably started because there are a few areas in the country where the local channels come as part of an extra package. In most areas local channels come as a part of the regular base satellite package and you do not need to add this extra feature. But there will never be a case where you can't receive the channels at all. There are a lot of reasons why so many people are switching from cable TV to satellite. In every category satellite seems to outshine its cable competitors. They have made a name for themselves in sports, high definition programming, and by the sheer number and variety of their channels. The one downside to a satellite package is that people don't like to have to bother with the satellite dish on their home.

DIGITALLY RECORD LIVE SATELLITE TELEVISION
J
ust when you think that the television technology developers couldn't think of anything new to make your experience better and different, they come out with a great new product. And when this happens you always find yourself asking how you were able to live without it before. This is what is happening with Digital Video Recorders, or DVRs. This is a device that was created that will digitally record live television. No more messing with tapes and DVD players trying to figure out how to record something. And no more missing out on the shows that you love because you had other plans at that time. The DVR makes it possible for you to have it both ways - keep your plans and watch all of your favorite shows. Learning to use a DVR is simple. First you have to sign up for the service from your cable or satellite television service. The cost of the service will depend on what type of television service you have. Some will charge a monthly fee for the equipment and others will just charge a flat rate when you sign NOVEMBER
up. Either way you have to call and sign up with your provider. They will need to give you a new receiver that will have the digital recording function on it. With it, you can record hundreds of hours of cable or satellite television. The actual amount that you are able to record will also depend on the cable and satellite TV service that you have, but generally you will have so much space that you will never have to worry about filling it. If you have a high definition television and high definition service from your TV provider, you will also need to have a high definition DVR receiver. If you get a regular one then it will only record programs at regular quality, even if you are viewing them in high definition. This is important to remember when signing up. Once you are equipped with your new DVR receiver you are ready to set some recordings. The remote that you have for you cable or satellite will have buttons for recording, rewinding, fast forwarding, and pausing. These are also the buttons you can use to set a recording.

FTA SATELLITE
nstalling FTA satellite is critical because it will determine to your suitability to receive microwave signals. All homes are not capable of receiving microwave signals, because there are many barriers that impede the signals such as mountains, trees that are natural and buildings, and such type of structures can obstruct the signals. So before installing FTA satellite connections you must need to know the location where you set up the equipment. After completion survey you need to decide the mounting pole of diameter as well elevation of the pole. Most of the Ku band designs a 5/8 inches diameter pole. Always larger dishes require a larger pole of diameter. If you already have FTA dish, talk to the manual service provider or measure the mounting range. The height of pole should be a lowest 5 feet from the ground and under the ground 18 to 24 inches. To overcome blocking signal you can set long mounting pole. Installation process of standard static FTA satellite channels for your TV. Get connected to static free to air satellite dish requires DiSEqc switch, which is moderately straight forward. marketplace with on-screen signal indicator, conversely, you may get it far easier to buy a low price satellite signal indicator that are available and its price can vary may be under $15.00. The dish finder will locate your Ku band signals plus adjust them according to optimum operation. You should be placed your dish mounted outside temporarily with your co-axial cable linked to it. You should keep in mind that you will be needed to calculate your elevation and polarization before set up your system. So if all are ok then connect the co-axial cable with your satellite dish receiver and then connect the television to your receiver. Assuming that your polarization and elevation setting is correct then you have needed to a signal finder to connect with your dish system. From half way point set your signal scale sensitivity. Move your dish simply and rotate it slowly left and right until your signal scale picks up a dynamic signal. The first step involves surveying of satellite location. The satellite location is essential will determine the eligibility of the satellite dish to receive signals. Natural barriers such as mountains, trees, buildings, and other structures can block the satellite signals.

GOOGLE TV COMING SOON TO A LIVING ROOM NEAR YOU Companies have been trying to revolutionize the television for some time. Years ago I purchased a set top media box made by Dlink. It allowed me to do some basic slideshows of photos and listen to Internet radio. Today, we have only slightly better options. Apple TV will let you watch your iTunes in the living room and the Roku box brings NetFlix streaming to your home. Google recently made an announcement that could substantially change how we watch television. It is called Google TV. Google TV is a system being developed by Sony and Logitech that brings Internet content to the television. These new devices will feature the Android operating system and the Chrome browser. You will be able to search and browse the web on your television. Currently, these capabilities will be added to Sony televisions, Blu-ray players, and to Logitech set top boxes. The first devices will be shipping in fall of 2010. While that is certainly a step forward and it is exciting, the original devices won't really revolutionize television for a number of reasons. First of all, the Google TV platform for these first NOVEMBER
devices will not be open source. Developers will receive a Software Development Kit (SDK) shortly after the first devices ship, but initially, there will not be an Android market for them either. This means that the only applications that will be available for the Google TV devices are the "approved" ones shipped with the devices by their manufacturers. In this regard, Google TV is hardly revolutionary. However, things could get much more interesting in 2011. Google has been clear that they intend to open source the Google TV platform. This means that it will suddenly be open to any device maker, not just Google's initial partners. This could lead to televisions that behave more like smartphones. In fact, Google also plans to release an update to the Android SDK in 2011 that will allow application developers to build applications for televisions and set up boxes. In many ways, this will level the playing field for content publishers. Producers of web based video shows will have access to a wider audience. Users will be able to do all the things that they can do on an Android phone on their television.

How Cable Television Works
I
n the 1950s, there were four television networks in the United States. Because of the frequencies allotted to television, the signals could only be received in a "line of sight" from the transmitting antenna. People living in remote areas, especially remote mountainous areas, couldn't see the programs that were already becoming an important part of US culture. In 1948, people living in remote valleys in Pennsylvania solved their reception problems by putting antennas on hills and running cables to their houses. These days, the same technology once used by remote hamlets and select cities allows viewers all over the country to access a wide variety of programs and channels that meet their individual needs and desires. By the early 1990s, cable television had reached nearly half the homes in the United States. Today, US cable systems deliver hundreds of channels to some 60 million homes, while also providing a growing number of people with high-speed Internet access. Some cable systems even let you make telephone calls and receive new programming technologies! In this article, we'll show you how cable television brings you so much information and such a wide NOVEMBER
range of programs, from educational to inspirational to just plain odd. The earliest cable systems were, in effect, strategically placed antennas with very long cables connecting them to subscribers' television sets. Because the signal from the antenna became weaker as it traveled through the length of cable, cable providers had to insert amplifiers at regular intervals to boost the strength of the signal and make it acceptable for viewing. According to Bill Wall, technical director for subscriber networks at Scientific-Atlanta, a leading maker of equipment for cable television systems, limitations in these amplifiers were a significant issue for cable system designers in the next three decades. "In a cable system, the signal might have gone through 30 or 40 amplifiers before reaching your house, one every 1,000 feet or so," Wall says. "With each amplifier, you would get noise and distortion. Plus, if one of the amplifiers failed, you lost the picture. Cable got a reputation for not having the best quality picture and for not being reliable." In the late 1970s, cable television would find a solution to the amplifier problem. By then, they had also developed technology that allowed them to add more programming to cable service.

TRIAX HEADEND
SYSTEMS
A headend system can be an extremely rational and inexpensive way of offering variety and quality to the subscribers in a multi dwelling network. But the value to subscribers is totally dependent on the flexibility of the headend system. Both the supply of TV-channels and consumer demands are bound to change in the lifetime of a new headend system. A solution that is difficult or expensive to change will restrict subscribers in their freedom of choice, and possibly be an economic burden. Triax offers many different kinds of systems that can be combined and expanded to both present and future needs. The common denominators are simplicity and logic that save time in installation and in future adaptations. Our choice of materials and processing is based on extensive knowledge of year-afteryear performance of headends in every possible environment. Each product and process is tested individually to ensure quality according to specifications. NOVEMBER
Bei ng open for advanced programming and data exchange, the top model of Triax Digital Headend system (TDH 700) is fully prepared for all the opportunities of digitalization and remote control via modem. One of the immediate benefits of TDH 700 is that it opens up for a whole new and more efficient way of supervising and controlling community networks. TRIAX's TAS selective filter unit is the perfect hardware for sizable community networks. Six-cell filters, which ensure high selectivity and switchable gain from UHF modules, enable the product to adapt to reception sites with a reduced number of references. These modules operate using a 12 to 24 Vdc voltage which means TAS products can be used as an extension to existing units. The new programmable multiband amplifier range TMB 10 from Triax has all the features needed for amplifying and distributing a
51
number of signals into a network. With just one unit, you can combine all digital or analogue terrestrial signals for channel-selective amplification. The two built-in IF amplifiers in the TMB 10-S simplify the insertion of IF signals into a network. 10 highly selective and adjustable filters in the UHF frequency range secure high flexibility. Each of these clusters can have 1-7 channels (40 MHz) bandwidth. The programmer is always there when you need it. Operating the TMB 10 is simple and done by means of the 4 digit display and 5 buttons.

FREE-TO-AIR SATELLITE MORE THAN DOUBLES Around 1.6 million UK homes are now tuning into free satellite TV channels 900,000 more than in 2009. Ofcom's latest research into our digital TV viewing habits saw a 56 per cent rise in free-to-air satellite TV, which now used in 6.3 per cent of British homes. About 1.25 million TVs and receivers have now been sold for the official Freesat service, with 80 per cent Freesat HD-capable. But a further 3.5 million are using Freesat from Sky, old Sky receivers without a subscription, or non-branded freeto-air satellite receiver. Ofcom's quarterly Digital TV Update does not measure homes which have satellite TV receivers for overseas TV channels. Neither Astra nor Eutelsat also measure this data, making it impossible to estimate the British market for free-to-air or pay-TV channels from outside the UK.
FREEVIEW HD REACHES 230,000 HOMES At least 230,000 homes have started watching Freeview HD since it launched in April. During the second half of 2010 all three Asian space powers – China, India and Japan – suffered major satellite failures. Each failure is significant, but for different reasons. In this instance, the satellite failures will be addressed in chronological order. At the same time, it must be emphasized that satellite failures happen rarely. What makes the loss of India's Insat-4B in early July – the first Asian satellite on this list – so important is the possibility that the satellite fell victim to deliberate act of sabotage as

SATELLITE FEEDS I am new to satellite world. What are 'feeds'? Ans: Broadcasters often use satellite links – 'feeds' – to transfer programming from remote locations before broadcast. Feeds may be unedited, containing bloopers and footage unsuitable for broadcast. Many are unencrypted, although sports feeds are becoming rare, and broadcasters are moving to the technically superior MPEG4:2:2 format.
HDTV is the Difference Between Q:2 What Digital TV and HDTV? Ans: All HDTV is digital, but not all Digital TV is HDTV. As stated previously, in the NOVEMBER
answer to question #1, the same bandwidth for digital TV broadcasting can either used to supply a video signal (or several) and other services, or can be used to transmit a single HDTV signal.
DISH NETWORK SERVICE
What are the standard programming Q:3packages available in Dish Network service? (Wajahat Hakeem, via e-mail) Ans: Dish Network programmings are packaged into five main standard packages: Dish Family, America Top 100, America Top 200, America Top 250, and America EverythingPak. Subscription costs for these programming packages ranged from $19.99 to $79.99. In case HD programming is for you, Dish Network offers HDTV services in several standard packages as well: DishHD Bronze, DishHD Silver, DishHD Gold, and DishHD Platinum.

TV BROADCAST satellite TV broadcast in digital Q:3Isformat? (Waqar Malik, Dubai) Ans: All satellite TV broadcasting is transmitted in digital format. However, if you don't have a High Definition TV (HDTV), you won't be able to receive the quality of picture and sound that's broadcast. Many people don't realize this, and go ahead and get satellite TV service. Then they have to go and buy an HDTV set. However, within about two years, all TVs will be HDTV, because digital broadcasting will be the standard.
TV SYSTEM Q:4
What equipment do I need with a satellite TV system? (Najam Alam,
UK) Ans: All satellite TV systems require some standard equipment, like the dish and the receiver. There's also some optional equipment you can get for special purposes. The manufacturers of this equipment are well-known, like Sony, RCA, Hughes, Samsung and Phillips. If you want to enjoy the full benefits satellite TV offers, then you'll want to check out the advanced equipment that'll give you some cool features, like TiVo, or interactive TV, or HDTV, or Internet access, or parental control. So what equipment you need depends on what you want in a satellite TV system.

SHARING FTA RECEIVERS
How do you share an FTA Q:5Receiver with more than one TV set with each viewer watching a different channel? (Zia Hassan, Islamabad) Ans: It is not possible because the dish people or whichever provider you have does not want that to happen they want you to have to buy more from them so they can make more profit. I have tried but if you use a splitter and have wire to another room you can just be watching TV in your room when people are not watching on the other. It is very confusing to say but it is easy to get once you think about it.
SATELLITE COMMUNICATION is the function of satellite Q:6 What communication? (Nasir Jamal, Peshawar) Ans: Satellite communication is a process where a radio signal is transmitted to a satellite above your horizon. That satellite rebroadcasts that signal, on a different frequency, either to a ground station, or to another satellite to be relayed further. It allows communications without any local infrastructure, such as wires, towers, or other equipment. All that is needed is a receiver/transmitter which operates in the correct frequency bands, and which has sufficient power and sensitivity to communicate with a satellite, and the satellites.

sunspots have a direct effect Q:7 Will on digital TV? (Ali Naeem, Saudi
Dear Editor on the Asiasat 3S @ Q:09105 deg. East, I receive the ESPN

What happens is that the sun appears directly behind the satellite and the electromagnetic energy over powers the transmitting part of the transponder on most satellites. The electromagnetic energy more or less `piggybacks' itself on the carrier signal at the same time, becoming part of the satellite's transmitted signal and rides that signal back to earth where it presents itself as 'noise'.

(Abul Azim, via e-mail) Ans: On Asiasat 3S you are getting 50% signal strength on a Digital Sat Receiver should provide you an adequate picture. However, the ESPN Philippines channel is not free-to-air on the Asiasat 3S satellite. Problems with
DVB-S
When changing your equipment for satellite reception, there are two key areas to watch out for: technical and legal hurdles. Reception will only work if the dish has a direct "line of sight" to the satellite - it must therefore point in precisely the correct direction. If there's something in the way trees or buildings, for example - you will not receive the signal. In that case, you'll have to look for a different location for the dish, which can be a tricky pursuit. Landlords might kick up a fuss, for example, if the dish looks unattractive. The legal situation has improved for consumers in recent years, but there have been many court rulings with differing conclusions. The easiest way to avoid conflict with the landlord is to discuss your plans with them in advance. Once you've established that the coast is clear of both technical and legal obstacles, you'll need a dish, a good TV, and a DVB-S receiver. These receivers, which convert the satellite signal into one that the TV can display, are rarely integrated into TVs themselves. Current plasma and LCD TVs from Panasonic's G10 series, for example, do have an integrated DVB-S tuner, but in the majority
NOVEMBER
of cases you'll need to buy an additional receiver (also known as a "tuner" or "settop box"). A wide selection of satellite receivers is currently available, and these vary massively in price, features, ease-ofuse, and quality. The next section examines the aspects that are particularly important when buying a receiver. Satellite receivers are like grains of sand on a beach. To make sure you choose the right model from the huge number of devices on offer, pay particular attention to the following five points: You can recognize a digital receiver by the "DVB-S" logo, which you'll generally find on the back of the device. Some analog satellite receivers are still on offer, and these would definitely be the wrong choice - so watch out. Make absolutely sure that your new receiver allows HDMI connections. Only this digital connection brings the best video and audio quality to the living room. The new receiver should be able to process HDTV content. You can get hold of cheap HDTV receivers for as little as 100 GBP. The number of HD channels isn't very impressive at present, but this looks set to change in the near future.

PAY-TV MARKET orldwide pay-TV subscribers totaled 688 million at the end of the second quarter of 2010. “Subscriber growth is fastest in IPTV platforms, while cable and satellite platforms have the most stable growth rate, says Jason Blackwell, practice director, digital home at ABI Research. According to the latest market data, overall pay-TV subscriptions are expected to reach 854.5 million in 2015, with a 5.7% CAGR from 2010 to 2015.” Cable platforms maintain the largest market share, representing approximately 70% of the overall payTV market. According to research associate Khin Sandi Lynn, “The cableTV market is declining in some countries, especially in Western Europe and North America. One reason is market saturation in these countries. Furthermore, there is aggressive competition from IPTV operators. Cable operators are coming under pressure to maintain subscriber and ARPU growth. Some operators have cut subscription prices in order to compete with IPTV operators.” The number of IPTV subscribers worldwide continued to grow in 2Q 2010. Western Europe and AsiaPacific are home to the majority of IPTV subscribers, but the IPTV growth rate in some European countries is expected to slow as the market starts to mature. However, countries in Asia-Pacific, such as China, are expected to grow their IPTV subscriber bases. ABI Research forecasts that IPTV's share of the overall
W
pay-TV market will increase from 6% in 2010 to 11% in 2015. Alternative pay-TV platforms also are becoming available to end-users around the world. Pay-DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) is starting to make its presence felt. Pay-DTT services have been successful in a number of European countries. For example, in Spain, Gol TV achieved one million subscribers within nine months of being launched. The low cost of deploying a pay-DTT service is the main attraction for pay-TV operators. Western European pay-DTT subscriptions are expected to reach 14.4 million by the end of 2015. ABI Research's Market Data product, “Pay-TV Subscriptions: Cable, IPTV, Satellite, Digital Terrestrial,” which provides global pay-TV subscription information, has recently received its latest quarterly update. Detailed market trends and market forecast information for key regions and countries around the world are provided where available. The study is a part of the company's Digital Media Research Service. Television satellites up in the sky, more than 22000 miles from earth are geosynchronous i.e. they rotate at the same speed the earth rotates and thus from earth they seem to be in the same position always

MULTI SATELLITE
DISH
It is often necessary to use multi-satellite dish antenna such as the oval dish for the customers of DIRECTV or Dish Network DISH 500 as some programming languages expands beyond the satellite provider "core" programming such HDTV programming and local channels in many arenas. Despite the custom built arrangements are costly, you can use huge number of characteristics compared with the Sky receiver. Alien satellites can be explored through multi-satellite dish arrangement. Satellite television has a premium content, pay per view and sided broadband Internet access. One-sided satellite broadband is to use the existent modem user uplink and dish on the communication channel. To enjoy all the TV HD Direct TV programming you will need multisatellite dish with HDTV and TV HDTVcompatible receiver. Direct TV Multi satellite dish antenna is compatible with all Direct TV receivers. It consists of multi satellite reflector dish. Head of Triple Multi satellite LNB with an integrated Multi switch supporting four autonomous outputs. Dish size 18x20 inches, and type is called Set A, B, C or 1, 2, 3 Set or "triple". It is built into the NOVEMBER
multi switch, which allows up to 4 direct TV receivers with an antenna. Direct TV uses three satellites at 101, 110 and 119 degrees wide cast its programming. The satellite is located at 110 degrees allots HDTV as well as some local programs. To complete the local channels (where available) outside the broadcast antenna is not required. Sat-C LNB can receive signals (HDTV programs) from the satellite at 110 degrees while the SB-A and SB-B converter gets programming from other satellites. Install TV antenna can be done, see the user guide allowed to you by the multi satellite dish antenna package, but always manufacturer of professional installation is encouraged. Overview of Set up is as follows: To determine the coordinates of where you will seek multi satellite dish, using the navigation antenna and receiver installed on-screen menu. Direct satellite TV is in the southern sky that requisites a clear unimpeded picture. The distance of the cable from the receiver to the antenna must be 100 or less for better performance. Set on EZALIGN mast and connect to it a reflector to ensure a high quality picture. Attach the LNB on the antenna and tune the receiver to get signals from three satellites.
