[Press Release] Environmental Bag Design Competition Invites Public To Draw For Those In Need To Promote World’s Largest Volunteer Build Event Hong Kong, 26th August 2009: Habitat for Humanity China works with fashion bag brand FX Creations in an environmental bag design competition to promote volunteer recruitment for Habitat’s annual signature event, the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Led by former U.S. President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn, the event draws thousands of volunteers from around the world to build home with families in need and shine a spotlight on the plight of global substandard housing. This year, the 26th Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project will be held in Asia across five selected cities, namely Qionglai in Sichuan, China; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Vientiane, Laos, and outside Hanoi in Vietnam; from November 15–20. Over 2,000 volunteers will participate and together build a total of 175 houses in the above five selected cities in just five days. To cope with Habitat’s huge awareness campaign in Hong Kong, especially the spotlight event that will be held at the Victoria Park in September, FX Creations has organized “Color Your Life” environmental bag design competition. The winning design will be produced and sold in Hong Kong across FX Creations stores. All proceedings will be donated to Habitat for Humanity China to support the five-year initiative to help improve the living condition of 50,000 low-income families across the five countries. Participants of the competition will also have the chance to be sponsored by FX Creations to join the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project volunteer event. Deadline of submission is 15th September, 2009.
