Growing up, me and my brother moved around a lot. I’m so grateful my kids won’t have to go through that.
We mobilize people who care about where they live around a common belief: that when we invest in our neighbor’s quest to own a home, it strengthens the entire community. Every year, thousands of volunteers work together on Habitat Greater San Francisco construction sites, in our ReStore discount home improvement center, at our office and in our neighborhoods. Our volunteers make a tangible impact while building pride in their Bay Area communities.

Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco builds homes and makes homeownership attainable for hard-working families, giving them the tools they need to build equity and plan for the future. Our Homebuyer Readiness Program prepares first-time homebuyers with free financial educational classes on debt management, good credit and more. Reasonable home mortgages allow families to plant roots, pay for vital needs and invest in their communities.
Through our Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, we partner with communities to revitalize important assets such as recreation centers, parks and schoolyards. And we increase the capacity of community organizations to serve more clients and offer more services. These improvements make neighborhoods safer, more livable and more vibrant places to gather.

Through partnership, we empower school principals, social workers, first responders and other critical members of our Bay Area economy to live where they work, to pay a mortgage they can afford and to build equity. Stable homes have a generational ripple effect for Habitat homeowners and their children including higher test scores, higher educational attainment and greater future earnings. And when residents join with us to help their neighbors and invest in their own neighborhoods, everyone benefits.
