This is an itinerary for nature lovers and eco-tourists! Bach Ma National Park is located in central Vietnam (40 mins drive from Hue) and covers an area of 22,031 ha. It is home to over 330 species of birds and 55 species of mammals. Hoa Lu, situated 100 km south of Hanoi, was the capital city of Vietnam under the Dinh and Le Dynasties between 968 and 1009 AD. Some of the sanctuaries and tombs have survived the years and can still be seen today. •Leave Hanoi at 08.00 and head south along Highway One •Visit the Dinh and Le sanctuaries •Move on to Tam Coc for a three hour boat trip along the Boi River before taking a lunch break •Visit Bich Dong Pagoda before making your way back to Hanoi

This excursion from Hanoi visits some of the fascinating handicraft villages dotted around the lush countryside surrounding the capital. You will witness the ancient art of ceramic making, and see how lacquered bamboo products are made as well as the beautiful Mother of Pearl. Sapa is a former French hill station situated in the valleys near the Chinese border. Its high elevation of 1,600 meters creates its cool climate inspired the French to build villas there as a summer retreat. Today, Sapa attracts visitors for its stunning scenery, comfortable climate, colorful markets, and a variety of ethnic hill tribes living in nearby villages. Day 1 •Our trip starts with an overnight train journey from Vietnam’s capital city to the border town of Lao Cai. The accommodation for tonight will be in soft sleeper berths on the express train. Day 2 •In the early morning you will be met by your guide and driven to Sapa •Enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off on your trek •Walking away from the main road, walk down into the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village, Lao Chai •Then continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit the Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38,000 people who live mainly in the mountainous areas in Northwest Vietnam •Stay overnight in Ta van with a local family, where you will be made at home and have the opportunity to learn more about their culture and lifestyle, whilst enjoying a traditional Vietnamese meal. Day 3 •After the breakfast, continue to visit the Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai. Here, you will also stop at a waterfall •Continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and trek up to Su Pan where you will meet the jeep and transfer back to Sapa. •Arrive in Sapa at 1pm, enjoy lunch and visit the local market. There will be a hotel day room to freshen up before transferring back to the train station for your overnight train back to Hanoi. Day 4 •Arrive back to Hanoi station in the early morning 5am.
