Head of Junior School’s Message

The end of any academic year always provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress, achievements, and highlights, of which there have been many. In my final assembly on Thursday, we celebrated the achievements of numerous children in sport, music, stem, arts, and citizenship. During the assembly I encouraged the pupils to think back over their year, to think about their individual journey of progress since September 2021 and that of their class, year group and the whole school community.
Individually and collectively, pupils have consistently demonstrated their ambition and curiosity through their thirst for knowledge and learning this year, making lasting memories along the away; courageously embracing new opportunities and facing challenges head on.
As a community there have been many highlights to the 2021-22 academic, too many to mention in one newsletter, but some that come to mind are: the school’s platinum jubilee garden party and the fabulous jubilee timeline display along the corridor (thank you Miss Galvin); Rainbow’s first school trip to Aldenham country park; the Habs Santa Dash; Nativity Farm animals visit; Year 1 attending their first clubs; Year 2 joint trip to Cuffley camp with the Year 2 boys; Year 3 trips to Celtic Harmony and Hazard Alley; Year 3 & 4 Swimming Gala (Year 3 first experience of a gala; Jeremy Strong author visit for the whole Junior School community; Sports Days; residential trips to Norfolk Lakes, Skern, Bawdsey Manor and Suntrap; Alice in Wonderland, A Very Cornflower Christmas and Madagascar; overnight camping in the Philosophers’ garden.
I wish you and your family a wonderful summer break and look forward to welcoming everyone back to school in September for another successful year together.
