CARERS RIGHTS DAY 2014 Theme: Know Your Rights Date: FRIDAY 28TH NOVEMBER
Venue: Stratford Advice Arcade, 107-109 The Grove, Stratford, E15 1HP Information sessions hosted by Newham Carers Network (NCN) in partnership with London Borough of Newham (LBN), Family Action (FA) and Workplace. Information Sessions- Booking is Essential 10.00 -11.15am - Carers Assessment, Carers Breaks & Carers Emergency Card Officers from the LBN will inform carers about the procedure for accessing the above. 11.20 – 12.40pm - Carers & Welfare Benefits - An interactive session run by NCN staff. What makes a good application when applying for benefits e.g. DLA/PIP/ESA Dummy examples of successful applications will be available to take away.
1.00 -2.00pm - Young Carers Service in Newham - Family Action will inform attendees about the new service for young carers aged 5-17. 2.10 – 3.10pm - Supporting Carers into Employment – A session by Workplace’s Newham Supported Employment Service. This newly commissioned service provides support to enable service users (and carers), of Adult Social Care, to gain and sustain paid or self employment.
