Monks Eleigh has a Winner
John Naylor 75, successfully completed his first marathon on Sunday 14 May in Leeds. He reports “It was a challenging 26.2 miles but I made it! Very tiring but satisfying”. John was running in the event to support the effort organised to raise money for the Rob Burrow Centre dedicated to investigating and searching for a cure for motor neurone disease. Rob Burrow has motor neurone disease so was pushed in his chair for the distance of the marathon. It was moving to watch this fine athlete being carried over the finishing line by his friend and fellow team mate. The response to the appeal for funds started by Rob Burrow has been outstanding and Monks Eleigh resident, John Naylor, has raised a very decent sum to add to the total.
