Taste of Sudbury returns in 2022 - and to a new home

Taste of Sudbury, an annual event traditionally held in the centre of Sudbury, is returning on Saturday 18 June 2022 after a two-year break dueto the pandemic and will be hosted in a new venue of Melford Hall.The festival will continue to celebrate, promote and showcase the verybest producers, restaurants and chefs that we are so lucky to have in thisregion. The event has had to move to Melford Hall whilst one of the mainvenues of the festival, St Peters in Sudbury, is closed for renovation.

Justine Paul of Suffolk Market Events explained: “We have tried hard tokeep the event close to Sudbury to ensure that the local community canstill enjoy all that the day offers whilst ensuring a safe space and we arereally pleased that the Melford Estate has offered us the use of their landat Melford Hall. The space will provide lots of room for people and parkingand will add an extra element of farming to the festival which we feel is important.”

Amy Hyde Parker of Melford Hall Estate added: “We are delighted to be able to welcome the Taste of Sudbury to the Park at Melford Hall and we are looking forward to working with the wonderful team at Suffolk Markets Events who we know will ensure the finest showcase of local produce and fare.”

It is expected that over seventy stalls will be filling the grounds at Melford Hall on June 18th 2022 from 10 am - 5pm eling a whole range of top quality food and drink including fresh herbs, local game and meat, sausage rolls and homemade pies, Suffolk strawberries and raspberries, award winning sourdoughs, homemade pates and terrines, locally distilled Suffolk gins, beautiful brownies and traybakes, Suffolk sausages, jams, marinades, conserves and freshly baked cakes plus vegan pastries and much much more.

The fabulous main kitchen theatre will be back with an amazing line up of some of the region’s very best chefs with demos of great recipes as well as masterclasses from local artisan producers. There will also be a number of quirky vans and horseboxes selling a wide range of street food plus there will, of course you will find chilled glasses of Prosecco, Suffolk beers and lagers and delicious local ice cream! As always, the festival will offer the family a great day out and dogs will also be very welcome.
