Swim The Night
Report in a nutshell…
Taking on 12 miles of swimming over the 12 hours of the night when sensible people should be sleeping was my biggest challenge yet.

After a bad start with goggles that must have got damaged as they leaked as soon as I started, I eventually settled into my rhythm and completed the first 6 miles at the more or less the pace I had planned to race at. But having basically completed the distance of a swimming marathon but realising I had it all to still do again, drained me mentally and physically.
It became an act of determination until mile 10 when I knew I was into the final quarter, this gave me a second wind in mile 10 and then I got a big boost as my family arrived to cheer me on through miles 11 and 12. In that last mile, I knew I was going to achieved something that I wouldn’t have even dreamed of of attempting 10 years ago!
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me as I raise funds for Eden’s Youth Centre in Sudbury some are still asking if they can give so here is the link in case that’s something you would like to do https://www. stewardship.org.uk/pages/edens
