THESIS: REWEAVE KL UPCYCLE FASHION CENTRE ENHANCING CONNECTIVITY AND WALKABILITY THE STREET OF JLN TAR
The city of Kuala Lumpur was designed to provide public open areas that encourage communal participation in the urban environment. The revitalization of cultural and local identity is necessary for the future preservation. By improving the sense of place, the concept of identity improves the link between users and space by establishing urban design. The building proposed to develop upcycle textile and fashion center that can benefit to the community of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR). It is serves as a public places that promotes multilayered community engagement and cultivates the spirit of walking among the communities.
To address the issue of local context of jln tar, the proposed idea of Upcycle fashion center is important to preserve the identity of jln tar , this will improve the local interest on local textile identity.Besides, the proposed building program will act as catalyst to promote local and sustainable fashion to the community , this will help the community get the exposure on fashion through education, business and research development. The implementation of the urban design through the building will improve the connectivity and urban space that will enhance the walkability and sociability along the stretch of Jalan Tun Perak.
PRE THESIS : BRIDGING THE COMMUNITY GAP : AGRICULTURE DISTRICT IN URBAN METROPOLIS THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW TYPOLOGY OF URBAN FARMING TYPE OF BUILDING
Existing food infrastructure systems are rapidly deteriorating as the world's urban population increases. As a result, the community requires an alternative source of food security to act as a catalyst for change. The catalyst for change in the urban system is urban farming as a platform for integrating sustainability into the urban system However, the term "sustainability" is frequently used by architects to refer to a design that incorporates organic materials. Food production can be brought into cities via urban farming, and if done correctly, this significant step can make city life more viable. Architecture plays a critical role in implementing a thorough understanding of urban farming design that benefits both the community and the urban system. Implementing urban farming requires an understanding of the design requirements in terms of method, technology and planning in order to create a design that benefits the community. Therefore farmshare is create to follow the requirement of the design process to implementing the urban farming community to regenerate the community in Pekeliling area in Kuala Lumpur city.
PRE THESIS : GIRIH PATTERN AS A FACADE DESIGN SYSTEM
This study has conducted on developing an approach for analysis of daylighting and visual comfort through a kinetic facade shading system as well as proposed pattern of Iranian Traditional Girih Tile. The model was simulated in the Velux simulation software were performed in order to evaluate daylighting and visual comfort performance. The objectives are to develop a girih pattern as a facade design system, determine the framework of the kinetic facade design system that can achieve the amount of illuminance level based on the malaysian standard 1525 and to implement the kinetic facade design system on the propose building. The results showed that the proposed model could significantly improve the shading flexibility to control daylight , by applying the kinetic facade system the daylight could achieve the standard of illuminance level based on Malaysian standard 1525 in the proposed building
