INTEGRATED DESIGN I

The goal of this project is to design building for School of Computer Science which is one of the schools in EIT-M, Mekelle University New Campus. the site is characterised as very windy site, gentle slope and near Cross state Road. the concept was derived from the site characterstics and inspiration from computer and chips. which can inspire student of computer sceince. the main goal i wanted to aceive in the design was to maximize mobility and to have look of sci-tech picture. the building is oriented to east west direction, to protect harsh wind(there is windmile near the site). and have facade design that is inspired from computer chips. the facade have also advantage in trubulence effect to protect winds.

ECOLOGICAL ARCHITECTURE

The goal of this project is to create an eco-friendly shop design that can work for every climate and context. i came up with the idea of two interlocking shipping containers to provide a flexible and spacious structure that can fit for any environment. The design features one container sliding inside the other, allowing for easy reconfiguration of the space and creating a unique and engaging shopping experience for customers. the Shop will consist of two interlocking shipping containers, one sliding inside the other. The outer container will serve as the main structure of the shop, while the inner container will provide additional space and functionality. The containers will be connected via a sliding mechanism, allowing for easy movement and reconfiguration of the space as needed.

LOW COST DESIGN STRATEGIES

we have been given a project to design low cost community center for one of semi urban areas of mekelle called Aynalem. the site is characterised as rich in natural stone and wood, and have suitable soil type for brick processing. the people have adapted the brick and stone construction system. i took as advantage the cheap material and labour for the construction of the community center. the building is designed to serve for the community of all ages and gender. it has children playground, workshop, eldery meeting area.

10

the strcuture provided in the design is simple and easy for constrction. any labour at the site can make it with minimal intervention and supervision. i tried to make some spaces semi open to have communication between internal and external spaces. and most of time there are cultural, religious and historical celectrations thay the community wante to make. on last thing that i considered is capacity building of the ommunity. i provided vocational training rooms .

The Hospital is designed to serve for 8 million people around the region with over 37 case per 1000 people. the main concept behind the design is derived from blood circulation which is associated with circulation and freedom of mobility. in hospital every user should have free mobility all around the building.

CONCEPT: BLOOD CIRCULATION ON HEART

cardiovascular diseases were not concern in ethiopia a decades back. but this day researchs shows that cardiovascular diseses became one of the deadliest disease in ethiopia. We were give an option to choose from different specialisation Hospitals and my choise for cardiovascular was based on the data derived from WHO and EPHC.

INTEGRATED DESIGN IV

the main objective of the project was to design cultural museum near the heritage site of Emp- Yohanes IV, which is located at the city center, after studying the site feature, the importance of topograpgy was main advantage to acess the proposed museum and passway to the historical building of Emp, Yohannes IV. i came up with the idea of spiral path that starts from lower part of the road which is main road of Mekelle city, to the Palace, and the proposed museum will have dual advantage: one as passway to the palace and as museum function that can display cultural, traditional and historical antiques of tigray. the delivery system of this project was through model making only, to help us have model making skill and to clrearly visualize the site and the design. finally it was
