Blizzard Alliteration

2 This winter had left chaos its wake, The weather was wretched The wind was whipping And the sun was hidden behind a shield of gray,

The field was withered and covered in soft white snow, A chill ran up my spine Like all the warmth had wandered away,

I walked and walked all around this terrible wreck, Not knowing which way was the right way, For the whole world had spun upside down that day.

Don’t Look Down Assonance

4 I went to the verge, And peered off the edge, My face turning red with every last step, I felt sweat drip down my cheek, Hoping and praying this would not be my end, For if I fell down this endless abyss, There would be no net to catch me, And I would fall to my death, Taking my final breath, At these heights was were my fear catches up to me A fear that I can never overcome

School Days onomatopoeia

The shriek of the morning bell is a sound that I dread, A clash and clang that signals the long day ahead, It nags at me like a bee buzzing in my ear, I wish that this irritating bell would just outright disappear, At the middle of the day, my stomach lets out a loud groan, My teacher keeps on lecturing in such a monotonous tone, I try to listen, but there is not much more that I can bear, Then suddenly I hear a ding that saves me from my despair, The bell rings and everyone zooms to be first in the lunch line, Now there is a whole hour that is completely mine, The anticipation is killing me, For when the final bell twinkles its beautiful chimes I will finally be free, I watched the clock go tick, tock, tick, tock, one second to the other, Slowly moving like a tortoise, one after another, Finally the last bell rang with a ding And I flew out like a bird opening its wings

A New Adventure

8 My hand squeezed the silver pole above my head, The angry floor shook beneath my feet, Trying to push me to the ground, While the rusty wheels groaned from their old age, Then suddenly the train shrieked to a halt, The force tossed me forward along with the rest of the passengers, As the doors crept open, I noticed the moon looking down upon me, As if it was welcoming me to this new, mysterious place, The place where my new life would begin.

10

It sat there for many years On the same shiny blue tiles Slowly getting rusty and full of dust Watching the students come and go year after year Like a recording set on repeat Playing for as long as time could remember Many times it had listened To the secrets and rumors whispered from ear to ear And the chatter of the students before teacher walked in On its top, lay the shaking hands Of nervous students anticipating a difficult test Or the tired students weary heads Asleep during the long lectures

Large wads of sticky sweet bubble gum hide under its surface A sketch pad for the little doodles etched on its top It was always the same in room D-8 Until one day, it was taken from its home For it was old and needed to be replaced With a new desk on wheels Breathing new life in room D-8

t f i r D s Thought r o h p a t e M Simile

My thoughts constantly drift like a tiny raft floating across the sea

12

Thoughts about the future are a mysterious abyss, What will happen is unknown, like the whether or not alien life forms exist, I always think of how fast time has flown like plastic bag in the wind How it is is the fastest runner of them all Always one step ahead of you like an endless chase You keep trekking forward but you can never catch up I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up Or what I want to do, But I feel like before I know it I will have to decide There are so many mysteries in the world that are like new lands waiting to be explored These thoughts constantly fill my mind like an overflowing glass Endlessly being filled

e m y Rh

14 It is late at night and you are left in the dark, Your eyes are getting heavy until you fall unconscious in a spark, And suddenly without any thought, You enter a different world in which you are caught, Not knowing what is reality, For confusion is all you see, A mix of memories and imagination envelop your head, As you toss and turn on top of your bed, A series of dreams some frightening, some merry, While in a state of peace where time doesn’t carry, You are finally shaken awake to a room now filled with light, With visions of the exciting day ahead all in sight

Mood

Today I was hosting my very first party, I had invited everyone I knew to come and celebrate, The room was decorated, Shining with bright lights As the many guests filed in, The music was loud and there was such a large crowd, It was a million times better than I expected, I happily greeted all the guests And began to dance, All night long, To all the amazing songs, The stars in the sky shown bright, Oh, what a night!

18

I was so nervous to go to my very first dance party, No one I knew was coming to celebrate, The room was huge, And I got swallowed in the endless abyss, As the many guests shuffled in, The party was too loud, And I could fight my way around the crowd, I was kicked and shoved all around Until I screamed on the top of my lungs I have had enough! I stormed straight out the door.

19

Rumor Has It Allusion

20 The quick glances and hushed tones, Words being whispered from ear to ear, Surprised faces and small giggles, As the secrets and rumors spread, Friends were never loyal, They were all traitors, As if they had turned into Benedict Arnold, Not caring one way or another, Whether others got hurt, For other’s tears were entertainment to them, Until their tears were the ones being shed

21

Too Much Work Hyperbole

22 Walking home with a bag the size of an elephant on my back, For there was way too much homework to be done, There was no way in the world I would ever be able to finish, We had been getting at least fifty tests a week and I just couldn’t keep up, The endless timed essays and papers to write, The math worksheets and equations to be completed, I had a million things to do for every class, The teachers were relentlessly handing out papers to fill out all day long, It seemed as though they wanted to torture the students until they just outright quit, I took one look at my large pile of homework which never ended and I couldn’t decide where to start, For there was way too much homework to be done.

Where

Fly Sonnet

24 Lights gone from her red cheeks now colorless, Burnt lungs shriveled up as the days go on, Pockets empty, overdosed, life’s a mess, Searching for an escape, life’s meaning’s gone.

Sells herself To men for a couple grams, Takes them blindly to numb the pain of life, Will take anything and does not give two damns, This escape to mask the mess of her strife.

As this poison flows through her veins, insane, Wakes up in a random place, bad nightmares, Pills used to relieve the strong massive pain, Her mind can’t bear the fact that no one cares.

Do not fall into this terrible trap, Or else you will take a forever nap.
