Graduation May 23, 2 p.m., UCF Arena

Each student received eight free graduation tickets and could request extras for $2 each. Students parking in Garage F need a parking pass displayed on the dashboard. Parents and guests have to park in garage C or D for $5. The ceremony will last about three hours, and includes speeches from principal Sam Momary and orators, a choir performance of the class song, presentation of the class and distribution of diplomas. The attire for the event is business attire.

Class Orators Snigdha Ila Class orator Ever since she went to Hagerty’s first graduation and heard the speakers, it seemed like a privilege to be able to speak at graduation, so she made it a priority to try out for orator. Her speech is Expanding Our Limits, which concentrates on deciding your own fate.

Alyssa Ramirez Class president Being senior class president, Ramirez has been heavily preparing for her speech, and is eager to give it. Her speech is Limitless Discoveries, and focuses on the reflection for seniors from kindergarten to now, and thanking the people who helped them get to where they are now.

Taylor Scimeca top ten Scimeca has always wanted to be an orator, because she enjoys public speaking. She wanted to share in the class’s achievements by honoring them in a speech. Her speech is Limitless Opportunities, and reflects on where the senior class members have been, what they have done, but mostly on where they are going.

FAREWELLS

I Can Read With My Eyes Shut is a favorite Dr. Seuss book of mine. “So that’s why I tell you to keep your eyes wide open…” Open your eyes and live your life to its fullest! Congratulations! Lois Arp “People assume That time is a strict progression

of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint–it is more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly…time-y wimey…stuff.”- The Doctor Marcia Garcia

May you all be “footloose and fancy free.” Best of luck seniors!

Lisa Gendreau

Class of 2013, thank you so much for letting me share in your high school memories. I hope that you have found memories of your time spent with me in our little corner of the school. I love you all and sad to see you go but remember that “I’ll Be There.” Diane Hasenbank

To all our

Times being what they are, do not go gentle into that good night. Make sure you know the difference between truth and story truth. Two phrases get you through when life seems impossible: “I am Beowulf” and “Lay on, Macduff!” Make sure to always know MO WAAW and especially MO YOL…Meaning of Your Own Life. Be careful what you wish for or it may come back to haunt you and chase you to the North Pole. Try to find that one special slurpee flavor for you and grapple (it) to you with hoops of steel. Remember what a piece of work is man and that one should always eat muffins quite calmly. And this above all, to thine own self be true…thou canst not then be false to any man. With love and quotes, Vicki Browne

To the Class of 2013, thanks for all the fond memories. You have definitely made a lasting impression at Hagerty! Our wish for you “is that your life becomes all that you want it to, your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, and that you never need to carry more than you can hold.” (Rascal Flatts) Best of Luck, HHS Administrative Team

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, test the waters, and peek behind closed doors; for “sometimes you find out what you’re supposed to be doing by doing the things you’re not supposed to do (Oprah, 2007).” Good luck to every one of you, go out there and continue to make us proud! Lauren Hamilton

Dear Honored Graduates, as you flee the halls of Hagerty High, know that you have left your imprint as part of an outstanding class. You have come from a school and community where excellence has become ingrained. Please remember this quote, “Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives---choice not chance determines your destiny.” (Aristotle) Congratulations! Joyce Joseph

seniorsection BOYS GOLF Thank you for a great four years! You will be missed! Love you, mean it! - Coach B. Malk

2013 BLUE PRINT NEWSPAPER STAFF

SENIORS, You were small in number but big in muscle (Izzie), writing power (Sarah), getting thangs done (Sean) and general butt-kicking (Darbi). It was a memorable year filled with late nights, a few ‘issues’ and a lot of big victories. You continually rose to the challenge and helped the newbies get on track. Under your leadership, the newspaper will continue to thrive - be proud of the legacy you leave behind! - Mr. Taylor

TRACK AND FIELD Seniors, I want to personally thank each and everyone of you for your hard work, blood, sweat, and tears this past year especially. You made this year your own, you led and you conquered. I look forward to watching you all grow as adults in the coming years and I hope you never forget your days of being Hagerty Husky tracksters! Take care, best of luck and stay in touch. Love ya mean it!! - Coach Malk

As your class prepares to leave the HHS campus, you have continued the “working together to create a tradition of excellence” slogan by keeping the program in the top tier of the conference and district standings. Individually, you have represented the Huskies well on the regional and state levels as well. As a result of your efforts, the track program will continue to produce positive results in the future based upon your examples at practice, at meets and in the classroom. Thanks for the memories and best of luck in your future endeavors! - Coach Getty

Prom theme explores the elements Sarah Casagrande

or senior Alyssa Ramirez, the one thing she will never forget about April 20 is when principal Sam Momary told her that it was the best prom night he had been to. “It meant so much to me, since it’s his last year and we all worked so hard on it,” Ramirez said. Ramirez was part of the 11 student planning committee for senior prom. The group of leadership students mixed with student volunteers spent months planning and preparing for a fire-and-ice themed prom adorned in red and blue. In order to pick the theme, an open meeting was held for students in November to present any ideas that they had via PowerPoint. The ideas ranged and included themes such as outer space, the Jazz Age and country. The senior class then voted for their favorite theme while they voted for homecoming court. Ramirez and the rest of the prom committee, headed by math teacher Amy Moore, began prom plans in December. They tried to think of unique ways to decorate the Peabody Hotel ballroom. Decorations were ordered online, and items like the lighting and snow machine were received from the DJ. Other unique decorations included glass rock candy

vases on every table and ice sculptures near the entrance. “My favorite was the ice sculptures,” Moore said. “It really brought the theme together since there were candles on top.” The committee members had a large part in planning the decorations. Ramirez presented the idea for the flipbooks after she saw them at a bridal shower, and senior Kylie Briggs arranged and helped choose the ice sculptures. Moore had volunteered to plan the 2013 prom in 2009 when the current seniors were freshmen. She had never planned prom before and turned to social studies teacher Jayme Jamison for help. In order to keep organized, Moore used her smartphone, spreadsheets and many notebooks. “I had a jump drive that I wore around my neck for the last three months,” Moore said. On prom night, total of 550 seniors, along with 86 non-Hagerty dates, arrived at the Peabody and waited for the gates to open at 7 p.m. Moore said she was pleased that many students arrived early and only one student was late. “[Prom] exceeded my expectations,” senior prom queen Yarelis Rivera said. “The music was a lot better than last year, the food was just as good and the dessert bar was a plus.”
