VOLUME ANALYSIS
TRANSPARENCY AND FUNCTIONALITY IS FACILITATING TRANSPORT IN A NEW AND INNOVATIVE WAY AND THE ACTIVITY CENTER SHOWS OFF THE BEST THE CITY HAS TO OFFER. THE BUILDING IS BASED ON A VISIBLE WOODEN STRUCTURE COMBINED WITH AUTOMATIC SHADING IN THE FACADE.
UNDERGROUND
MOVEMENT IS PLAYING A CENTRAL ROLE ON THE SITE AS WELL AS IN THE STATION CONCEPT.
URBAN CONTEXT
For the transfering long distance commuter and the local citizens, finding your connecting tram or bus is easy.
The circulation of flows remains as they are today apart from new connections with the mezzanine plan.
A horizontal volume would allow several access locations around the site.
BUILDING CONCEPT
TARGET USERS The visiting family
A vertical volume on the site would complicate communcation and accessibility.

Interior volumes
The upper floor houses a space dedicated to the göteborg show room, which can exhibit temporary installations, with the main goal to inform the citizens of Göteborg and its tourists whats going on in the city. Universeum gets a permanent installation, a fish tank, that creates a border between the restroom and the main lounge.
