MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRINCIPAL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & ADVANCEMENT

The events of last year have provided Haileybury with the chance to adapt and innovate, just as it has done throughout its 129-year history.
The Haileybury Foundation too, was able to use this challenging time to find new ways of doing things as it continues to build on its good work to change lives forever.
By their very nature, foundations are innovators. Every foundation was established because it identified a need or a problem to be solved: passionate individuals or a caring group of people who organised, generated ideas, and launched into action. They did so despite what may at first have appeared to be an overwhelming task before them. 11 years ago, a very similar group of passionate Haileyburians did much the same when they initiated the Haileybury Foundation.
Fortunately, through last year’s challenges, the Haileybury Foundation discovered new ways of doing things. Staff and benefactors switched to working from home rather than from the office, they held meetings online rather than faceto-face and event venues were swapped for virtual ones to host occasions and nurture relationships. This year, the Haileybury Foundation will continue to build on what worked so well last year. Innovation can be a tool for overcoming resources, obstacles and mindsets to develop new approaches that deliver best value and extraordinary results.
At its core, innovation is about the ability to adapt and change, to solve problems, and to find new and better ways of doing things to meet needs. We hope you too will walk with us to continue Changing Lives Forever.
