BACK CUTTING - Pres og klip fra spids mod bunden med spidsen af saksen

BREAKPOINT - Inddeling som går fra øre til øre op over kronen

C SHAPE GUIDE - Front designlinje der klippes i C form fra kort til langt

TWIST CUT - håret tvistes og afklippes

UNDERDIRRIGER - håret trækkes ned til et givent punkt og afklippes

VÆGTLINJE - en tung og evt. markeret overgang mellem to lag af hår

2 WAY BLOCK INVERT - Vend håndstilling 180° i en retning klip og gentag men i modsatte retning

2 WAY POINT CUT - At klippe sektioner først fra højre mod venstre, derefter fra venstre mod højre

EN GLOSSARY

AGGRESSIVE POINT CUT - cut down into hair on an angle creating an obvious jaggered effect, the goal being to create clear separation and texture

AGGRESSIVE RAZOR PEEL - To remove hair in peeling motion on a jagged angle creating texture and seperation

AREA - an area sectioned prepared for cutting

ASYMMETRIC / ASYMMETRYunbalanced length or proportions one side to the other

BACK CUTTING - Squeez and cut downward with the tip of scissors

BLOCK - An entire area taken as 1 section

BREAKPOINT - a parting line from above the ear over the top of the head to the opposite side.

C SHAPE GUIDE - front design line scooped from short to long tocreate a C shape

CHANNEL CUT - Cut channels through sections, starting from roots to ends

CONCAVE - curved shape/motion/ movement curving into the hair.

CONVEX - a curved shape/motion/ movement curving out of the hair.

DEEP POINT CUT - cutting in to the hair with the shear parallel to the strand of hair with a depth of the length of the blade or deeper with goal being bulk reduction, weight removal, and creating separation and lift.

DESIGN LINE - the external or perimeter hairline, can be front, back or sides

DISCONNECT/DISCONNECTIONan area that is not cut by using a technical guide from one or more of the areas that it is in relation to

EXTERIOR - the outer lines of the hair cut /the edge or silhouette

FREEHAND - to cut without a guide, to cut visually

GRADUATION - cut with a projection of 0 increasing to 45 degrees

GRAPHIC - sharp or bold line, sharp or bold shape

GRAVITY - natural fall of the hair at0 degrees

INTERIOR - the part of the cut/ shape that does not directly change the outer lines/edge of the cut.

INVERT - to turn inside out or upside down

OVER DIRECT - to drag a section over to meet a guide

PEEL - to remove hair in a peeling motion

PERSONALISE - add finishing texture throughout cut via free hand

PINCH CUT - squeezing and cut with the tip of scissors

PIVOT - to move in a circular or semicircular motion around a centerpoint

POINT CUT - cutting with the tip of the shear instead of the length of the blade

SHALLOW/MODERATE POINT CUT cutting into the ends of the hair in a parallel to slightly angled motion with the goal of blending and softening the cut

RAZOR CARVE - razor channels 1.5cm from roots increasing to ends

RAZOR COLLAPSE - razor lengths at 1-3 cm from the roots

RAZOR PINCH - Squeeze sections and razor cut

RAZOR SEPARATION - bulk reduction razor from 5-6 cm and out

RAZOR SUPPORT - razor 2-5 cm from roots build support

RAZOR TWIST - twist section and razor moving up the hair

SCOOP - to cut a rounded hollow shape, as if spooning out soft food using either scissor or razor

SECTION - a thin slice of hair separated to be cut

SLICE CUT - cut by sliding your blade through the hair

STACK GRADUATION - overdirect and underdirect horizontal sections to a center guide

STACK LAYERING - overdirect and underdirect vertical sections to a center guide

STATIONARY CENTER GUIDEa guide having a fixed position in the centre of area

STATIONARY GUIDE - a guide having a fixed position

SWITCH POINT - a new guide created by overdirecting length to existing guide

SYMMETRIC / SYMMETRYidentical balance, length or proportions on both sides.

TAPER - a gradual increase or decrease of thickness

TEXTURE - interrupted lengths or broken surface to create unevenness

TWIST CUT - twist section of hair and point cut moving up the section

UNDER DIRECT - to drag section down to meet a guide

WEIGHTLINE - a heavy excessive gathering of hair

2 WAY BLOCK INVERT- turn inside out or upside down cut and repeat turn section in opposite direction

2 WAY POINT CUT - point cut sections from right to left then left to right
