President’s Message
If you have never attended an Energizing Summit you are in for a real educational experience. Those of you who have attended in the past recognize the effort the American Board of Certified Haircolorists put forth to make this an unforgettable experience. Each year we bring an array of talented educators. Some are here for the first time and others you have enjoyed from years prior. I am most impressed by our educators who are successful in doing what they teach, as opposed to teaching a class scripted by a manufacturer. This is a one of a kind seminar produced completely by haircolorists. It is produced in a manner in which we would appreciate attending. I think one of the biggest benefits of attending the Energizing Summit is the opportunity to rub elbows with other haircolorists and share information. Our classes are small so you can ask lots of questions and interact with the educators. It is important educators understand the challenges haircolorists are faced with. We offer a variety of haircolor subjects so you can really learn. Some classes are creative in nature while others are more technical. We even have business classes that are centered on haircoloring. You have the opportunity to participate in hands on classes and have the opportunity to work with a variety of haircolors and bleaches. Take full advantage of this opportunity. Hopefully when you have the Energizing Summit experience behind you, you will be inspired to become a Board Certified Haircolorist.

Color Concentration
Kathy Partin ABCH
Are your colors not reacting as they should? Do you get brassy and red tones when you use an ash color? This class is for you. Kathy Partin, ABCH has developed a method of adding more color to your formulas so you get less fading and more durable haircolors. She calls the system she developed “Color Concentration.” It is substituting more haircolor in your formula in place of the water. You don’t put water in your formula, you say? Yes you do! Did you realize more than half of your formula is water? Water that dilutes your color and makes it wash out of the hair faster leaving the hair dry and brassy. Using a digital film to bring you into the salon you’ll learn the why and how of peroxide, unwanted red tones, banding, fade, DAMAGE and gray coverage. This class is so enriching and so fast moving you will be crying for more. Don’t miss Kathy Partin, ABCH.

Paul Morrison ABCH
Sunday: 2:00pm Monday: 9:30am
This class was conceived as a result of Paul Morrison educating his students on how to pass the ABCH performance examination. This class is designed for individuals who would like to streamline their ability in properly placing foils in the hair. This class is not only for beginners but also for those who want to refine their foiling technique. Paul will cover things like sectioning the head, selecting the proper bleach and application of your product to avoid “bleeding” or leaving too much of “regrowth” as well as using your tools to take the struggle out of foiling. This class has a $15.00 surcharge for the maintenance of the mannequin. You will be using mock bleach and the mannequin will remain in the classroom at the end of the class.
