Analysis Findings The area analized is in Al Athaibah, Muscat, Oman. The plot is located just off the main Sultan Qaboos highway, behind the German University of Technology. It is surrounded by 2 to 3 storey high buildings which functionally vary from residential to commercial use. Only one educational building is present in the site and stands 9 floors high, located at the bottom right of the area. There are no direct connections from the high way to the plot since it is 4 meters lower. The only access is through the secondary road on the left side that leads into the area.No access from the opposite main road to the plot is available nor a pedestrian crossing. A clear Wadi trail exists that flows in from the south-east and with the low topography of the site allows more water flow through the plot during the heavy rains yearly.

Orentation
= Spaces with identity are spaces that have its own identity and that tell a story about the place. theses spaces are very common in old Omani villages and are used to act as a tran sitions point for people whom inter the villages . Like a filter the transition points filter people from the outer orientation to the inner orientation of the village. Most of the main functions like commercial and educational areas are found around this transition points so both people that level inside outside the village or city can use it without disturbing the inner peace. And this spaces are made strong by have them on different heights which acts like The villagers would lay out there villages to provide theand open barrier and threshold. best hospitality possible for the bypassing people. the hospitality areas like Sablas's or Majlis's are seen as a transcation points for bypassers to go through before they inter the inner walls of the village

shading in hot climates like Oman is an improtant element, the shade provided by the trees would be used as shelter from the hot desert sun and provide a place for worship and study
