OVER VIEW The first memory I have of admiring buildings was on a car ride to my middle school. I remember gazing the reflection of our car in a building and looking high at the building that was higher than the sun! Pedestrians were walking, carrying suitcases heading to work as they are shaded from the heat of Riyadh with magnificent form that could reach the sun. That is what Architecture means to me. I see it as a mix of science and art. How to make life simple! I knew then that I hope one day I could apply my passion and ambition in architecture, urban design, landscape design, and more and bring my strong communication skills, creativity, and ambition to a growing team that has a vision to change the world. I grew up with the mission of “Make Life Simpler” and the projects I have design over the past years reflects what I believed in. Over the past 2 years, I have been part of Majid Al Futtaim’s 20 selective regional candidates for a fresh graduate program. In that program, I managed to take a big responsibility in Sharjah’s premier lifestyle destination, Al Zahia, a project spanning over 1,000,000 sqm. I had the magnificent opportunity to completely lead CEO of Community’s initiative of building the first Urban Farm in the country, where I designed a module base using 3D visualization to extract a 3D model and master planning into construction. Through that, we encouraged community residents of growing their own crops and managed to create a business plan of a profitable weekly green market for the community. In addition to that, I have been able to take the responsibility of a site manager role to a mock-up of one of the top upcoming apartment units in the community that houses Sharjah’s rich cultural and environmental heritage. As a lifelong enthusiast of Architecture Restoration and an environmentalist, I hope to translate and contribute my academic studies in Architectural Engineering, and my technical competencies of working in mutli-used projects to fulfill and preserve heritage Saudi Arabia.

The very first urban farm in UAE hosted in Majid Al Futtaim’s second housing community, AlZahia. In the urban farm I aimed to design a community destination for the residents to explore growing greens and crops in their own homes. The project initialy spanned over 600 sqm growing 12 different crops. This was the first module for many urban farms to start growing in the community and across UAE. In the project we aimed to provide special workshops and training on how to start growing plants. Towards the end of the project that spanned over 6 month, we successfully grow all 12 crops and had a farmer’s market, a first in Majid Al Futtaim. The urban farm right now is a high destination for residents and houses weekly farmer’s market that has activities, events, and a market!

Uptown Al Zahia is Al Zahia’s new urban neighbourhood, featuring residential apartments, retail and entertainment outlets directly linked to City Centre Al Zahia via pedestrian bridge. The vibrant neighbourhood is designed around a landscaped High Street and pedestrian retail plaza just off University City road, accessible to both residents and visitors. Upon completion in 2022, the neighbourhood will be home to more than 700 families. My contribution to the project was ot initially design a floor of a mock-up for visitors to view the apartments of Uptown AlZahia, and to test materials and samples of the project. After designing, I joined the site as a site architect monitoring the design and construction

Mall of Egypt, one of Majid Al Futtaim’s biggest malls located in Cairo, Egypt, is bringing its world-renowned leisure and entertainment brand portfolio that includes; Ski Egypt, that brings snow for the first time to the city and the African continent, VOX Cinemas - with a total of 21 theatres housing one 4DX screen, 4 Gold screens, one IMAX screen, 2 screens for kids and 13 regular screens with a total of 2473 seats. After project construction, the architectural design studio proposed changes and additions to modify the existing design on enhancements to improve the experience and attract more visitors to the mall. The modifications includes; enhancing dining experience, create a public realm, and create entertainment space. In addition to that, after studies and research, we suggested few uplifting and upgrading architectural elments to the space.



DINING EXPERIENCE The creation of a place where visitors immerse themselves in a spectacular fusion of the senses by layering smells, sights and sounds. The seating areas will be carefully considered in order to expose them to the internal vistas of the plaza and allow for interaction with the event & entertainment space. This will complete the experience and create a space customers want to stay in and return to time and time again.

ADJUSTING AND DESIGNING After analysis of the floor plans of the existing mall, we analized opportunities to enhace the circulation and customer movements. Creating 2D render of the courtyard and studying the customer journey from the enterance point, to the resturants, all the way to the enterance of the mall. In addition to that, we created 3D renders of the welcoming court imaginaing the the experience.

City Centre Almaza will become one of the key favoured destinations for shopping and entertainment in Helipolis. Almaza, meaning diamond in Arabic, is derived from the rich history of philosophies, planning and design aspirations from Heliopolis, which has been integrated into the planning and design of City Centre Almaza’s shopping experience. Offering a wide variety of meticulously selected brands from a wide variety of retail mix, dining and leisure amenities, the mall will create a unique shopping enviornment for its visitors. As for the team’s contribution, viewing the mall in the final stages realizing interior opportunities for enhancement and modifications to improve the user experience.

Part of any large project as Mall of Saudi, small buildings which are called “project mockup” that exhibit some elements and materials of the project which could be tested before applying the chosen material to the actual project. Several Mock Up are usually made. In this case, I was asked to design a mockup house for the leasing department with meeting rooms and temporary offices for the company employees to gather and have tenants over to make deals for the mall. The department’s requirements is to design a house with as many meeting rooms as possible, with a small theater that could showcase some movies of Mall of Saudi. In addition to providing the basic necesseties of services, the halls must withhold three different physical models of Mall of Saudi; a ski slop model, hotel model, Mall of Saudi model.

Mall of Saudi land plot has many blocks which in the future expansion will extend to create residential blocks, offices, and more. In the main team and during the first opening of the mall, the company would like to create an outdoor theater which the structure would be temporary. The following are the options presented.




DRIVE IN CINEMA The first option was to provie an 80s themed drive in cinema where there could be the option of both driving in your car and another option to simply buy the ticket and sit on one of the bean bags to enjoy the movie. The empty roads could be a stop for food trucks and for pedistrians to walk on.

STRUCTURED TENT The second option was to provide a more structure tent where this reduces the Gross Leasing Area to reduce the required parking lots. This option also provides a smaller screen and a smaller number of seats. The idea behind a structured tent is to protect from dust and sun heat.

Concept revolves around providing a gathering points for all family members as well as seperation for 4 families to live in a 2000 sqm plot. AlAbed is a large family of four brothers and their smaller families where the design revoloved around creating seperate enterance for all family members in addition to places around the house where the family can spend time for gatherings.

OVER VIEW PROJECT GOAL My main goal in this project is to be part of the success of vision 2030 in participation in media, creating a cinematic platform, raise the economy, and finally provide a home for the local filmmakers to liberate their talents. I want to provide the filmmaker with all the necessities required inculding the five main stages that any film process goes through to invest and work locally, therefore increase the economy. PROJECT CONCEPT The Cinematic City I have worked on is a re- sponse to all the misconceptions. A symbol of contradiction to the image the society has made, an explosive response to the past be- liefs, and a set of unusual forms to grab the eyes of dreamers and filmmakers around the nation to librate the hidden talents
