Launceston’s Conference Incentive Conference Incentives are available to encourage associations, corporate organisations and local/state government to host their conferences within the Launceston municipality during the tourism off-peak and shoulder seasons. Eligibility Criteria • The conference, or at least one major part of the conference, must be held in the Launceston municipality; • T he Launceston Travel and Information Centre or an accredited Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) must be utilised for all accommodation bookings; •

The Launceston Travel and Information Centre must be utilised for at least one of the following services: - Accommodation bookings - Pre and post tours - Partner programs - Transport / travel

• T he Launceston Travel and Information Centre logo and contact details must be included on all Conference collateral (printed & online); • T here must be a minimum of 20 intrastate/interstate/international delegates/participants who are staying in Launceston for a minimum of two nights in accredited accommodation; • O nly conferences/events held in Launceston for the first time, or those which have not been held in Launceston within the last three years are eligible; • Delegates must pay a registration/entry fee and there must be a formal program of events; • N o further payment or in-kind support (e.g. Launceston City Council Event Sponsorship or Launceston City Council Grants, road closure fees, hire of Council venues or Civic Receptions) can be provided beyond that detailed above. Amount Available Launceston City Council’s Incentive Program offers the following incentives subject to eligibility criteria and available funding: • C onferences, Conventions and Championships scheduled between 1 May until 31 August: can apply for an incentive of $20.00 per delegate up to a maximum of $15,000; • C onferences, Conventions and Championships scheduled between 1 September until 30 September: can apply for an incentive of $10.00 per delegate up to a maximum of $10,000. Other Assistance Council’s Events Officer can provide advice on suitable venues within the Launceston municipality free of charge whilst the Launceston Travel and Information Centre can provide advice on local attractions and activities. Free promotional materials can be provided for conference/event organisers, where appropriate and available, regardless of whether the organisation is successful in applying for incentive funds, including Launceston Tamar Valley official visitors’ guide, brochures and the Launceston Map.
