“I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and fuck her. She was married. And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, “I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.” I took her out furniture—I moved on her like a bitch. But I couldn’t get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ‘em by the pussy. You can do anything.” -Donald Trump 2005

The Women’s March was a worldwide protest on January 21, 2017, to advocate legislation and policies regarding human rights. Most of the rallies were aimed at Donald Trump, immediately following his inauguration as President of the United States, largely due to statements that he had made and his positions which were regarded by many as antiwomen or otherwise offensive. It was the largest single-day protest in U.S. history.

A year since women marched across the world in protest of Trump, many view his presidency as ‘the worst we’ve ever seen for women’ The Guardian January 18, 2018
On the day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States last January, millions of women took to the streets in pink-knitted “pussy hats” in protests that marked the birth of the so-called “resistance” to the incoming administration. One year later, the #MeToo movement has spawned a moment of reckoning around sexual misconduct and gender equality. The unprecedented dialogue has brought down powerful men from entertainment, media and politics, while signaling the beginning of a transformational period for women in the workplace that has been decades in the making. But between the bookends, women’s rights advocates have had to contend with the first year of the Trump presidency, which they view as a return to restrictive policies on abortion and contraception. And for every man whose career is cut short amid allegations of misconduct, there is the

juxtaposition of Trump holding the highest office in the nation despite standing accused by as many as 17 women of sexual assault. He denies the claims. On Friday, almost one year to the day since he was inaugurated, Trump will become the first sitting president to address the March for Life, an annual anti-abortion gathering on the National Mall in Washington. “This administration is the worst we’ve ever seen for women and families,” said Kaylie Hanson Long, a spokeswoman for Naral Pro-Choice America, a pro-choice advocacy group.
international family-planning organizations that offer abortion-related services. He later expanded it, affecting nearly $9bn in funding to combat global health issues such as HIV/Aids, Zika and malaria. Trump has also backed proposals to defund Planned Parenthood and signed Republican-passed legislation that paved the way for state and local governments to block abortion clinics from receiving federal funds. To some observers, Trump’s actions are the natural byproduct of “unified Republican control” in Washington.
And for every man whose career is cut short amid allegations... there is the juxtaposition of Trump holding the highest office in the nation despite standing accused by as many as 17 women sexual assault. He denies the claims. “Its attacks on reproductive freedom are relentless, under the radar and aren’t supported by the majority of Americans who believe abortion should remain legal.”
The House of Representatives approved a 20week abortion ban in October, although the Senate does not appear to have the votes to send the bill to the president’s desk. ...
@realDonaldTrump
Much of Trump’s first year in office has been dedicated to undoing the work of his predecessor, from rescinding the requirement in Barack Obama’s healthcare law that employers provide contraception coverage, to rolling back a rule introduced under his predecessor designed to close the gender pay gap. In one of his first acts, Trump – surrounded by a large group of men in what became a notorious photograph – reinstated a “global gag rule” policy that restricts the US government from providing funds to
“It’s not necessarily just because of Donald Trump,” said Jennifer Lawless, the director of American University’s Women and Politics Institute. “It’s because of a Republican White House and two Republican chambers in Congress.” Indeed, Republicans have led efforts – albeit to mixed success – to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, Obama’s signature healthcare reform. They have also sought to advance legislation to curtail abortion rights, with the president’s blessing.

An article published by NPR February 22, 2018
In trying to clarify his Wednesday comments about arming teachers and other school personnel, President Trump, a day later, aligned himself even more closely with the National Rifle Association on the issue of teachers with guns and beefing up school security. So much so, they seemed, at times, to be reading from the same script. Here’s how the day started — with NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC (emphasis ours): “Can we protect so much with armed security, while we drop our kids off at school, that are so-called gun-free zones, that are wide-open targets for any crazy madman bent on evil to come there first?
23
There first? In every community, PTAs, teachers’ unions, local law enforcement, moms and dads – they all must come together to implement the very best strategy to harden their schools, including effective trained, armed security that will absolutely protect every innocent child in this country. That has to happen now. Evil walks among us, and God help us if we do not harden our schools and protect our kids. ...
a gun-free zone,’ that means that nobody has a gun except them, nobody’s going to be shooting bullets in the other direction. And they see that, it’s such a beautiful target. They live for gun-free zones. “Now what I’d recommend doing is the people that do carry, we give them a bonus, we give them a little bit of a bonus, because frankly they’d feel more comfortable having
We have to harden our schools, not soften them. A gun-free zone to a killer or somebody who wants to be a killer, that’s like going in for the ice cream. That’s like ‘here I am, take me.’ “I refuse to leave this stage until I say one more time that we must immediately harden our schools. Every day-- every day, young children are being dropped off at schools that are virtually wide open, soft targets for anyone bent on mass murder. It should not be easier for a madman to shoot up a school than a bank or a jewelry store or some Hollywood gala. Schools must be the most hardened targets in this country.” Hours later, Trump was at the White House talking about school safety after last week’s mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school. Notice, Trump used some of the same talking points, key words and phrases as LaPierre (again, emphasis ours):
“You want a hardened school, and I want a hardened school, too.” So when it comes to “hardening” schools, not a phrase that was in wide use before Thursday, and speaking out against “gunfree zones,” it appears the president and the NRA are, well, on the same page. Trump does appear, however, to differ with the gun lobby when it comes to his support of increasing the age to be able to buy an assault rifle, from 18 to 21. Trump said he wasn’t concerned, though, about that. “I don’t think I’ll be going up against them,” Trump said. “I really think the NRA wants to do what’s right. I mean, they’re very close to me; I’m very close to them; they’re very, very great people. They love this country. They’re patriots. The NRA wants to do the right thing.”
@realDonaldTrump
“We have to harden our schools, not soften them. A gun-free zone to a killer or somebody who wants to be a killer, that’s like going in for the ice cream. That’s like ‘here I am, take me.’ We have to get smart on gun-free zones. When they see ‘this is

And then in his next sentence, he may have given away the reason he and the NRA seem to be using similar, and sometimes the exact same, language. “I’ve spoken to them often in the last two days,” Trump acknowledged, “and they want to do the right thing.” Trump also reiterated his calls for arming more teachers and other adults working in the nations’ schools, something LaPierre also called for. But Trump has made several conflicting statements on the controversial issue over the course of less than 24 hours beginning Wednesday.
@realDonaldTrump
At White House listening sessions Wednesday with students and parents, including some from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where a gunman killed 17 people last week, Trump said, “If you had a teacher who was adept at firearms, it could very well end the attack very quickly.”
But Thursday morning, the president put out a barrage of tweets, defending himself and clarifying, “I never said ‘give teachers guns’ like was stated on Fake News.” He added that he wanted to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience.” In his subsequent White House meeting Thursday with state and local officials to discuss school safety, Trump expanded on that. “I don’t want teachers to have guns,” he said. “I want certain highly adept people, people that understand weaponry, guns. If they really have that aptitude, because not everybody has an aptitude for a gun. I think a concealed permit for teachers and letting people know there are people in the building with a gun, you won’t have, in my opinion, you won’t have these shootings.” ...

He added that the U.S. will begin negotiations to re-enter either the Paris accord or a new treaty on terms that are better for American businesses and taxpayers. “So we’re getting out, but we will start to negotiate and we will see if we can make a deal that’s fair,” he said. Vice President Mike Pence praised Trump for keeping his campaign promises and abiding by his “America First” mantra. In talking points obtained by NBC News just before Trump’s announcement, the White House argued the agreement was “negotiated poorly” and was too costly for the American people with few tangible gains.
The March for Science is an international series of marches held on Earth Day, starting on April 22, 2017 in Washington, D.C., and more than 600 other cities across the world. The march is a non-partisan movement to celebrate science and the role it plays in life. The goal is to emphasize that science upholds the common good and to call for evidence-based policy in the pulic’s best interest.

The long-awaited decision came as little surprise, with multiple administration officials telling NBC News earlier in the week that the president was leaning toward leaving the signature 2015 agreement that nearly every other country on Earth has embraced. Still, the decision is a blow to environmentalists, business leaders and international figures, many of whom have urged Trump to reconsider. The U.S. now joins Syria, which has been mired in a war and Nicaragua, which has said it
from warming by more than 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit — or 2 degrees Celsius. While former President Barack Obama committed the U.S. to the agreement, it is a voluntary national pledge — not a binding treaty. Obama pledged a lowering of American emissions by 26 to 28 percent by 2025, as well as $3 billion to the United Nations Green Climate Fund, but Congress’ most recent spending deal leaves out those funding dollars. On Thursday, Obama said it is now up to states and cities to step up to help pave a low-carbon future.
The reality, Trump said, is that withdrawing is both ‘in America’s economic interest and won’t matter much to the climate.’ He added that his administration ‘will continue to be the cleanest and most environmentally friendly country on Earth.’ didn’t join because they didn’t think the climate agreement went far enough, in not taking part in the global agreement. President Trump said the other 195 countries in the agreement “went wild, they were so happy” that the U.S. initially joined the accord “for the simple reason that it put our country, the United States of America which we all love, in a very, very big economic disadvantage.” The Paris Agreement — which was brokered in 2015 and took effect in November 2016 — seeks to prevent increases in global temperatures by gradually reducing manmade emissions that science has shown causes rising temperatures. The accord sets as a specific goal keeping the Earth
“The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created,” Obama said in a statement. “I believe the United States of America should be at the front of the pack. But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got.” The European Union sounded a similar note and pledged that “The Paris Agreement will endure. The world can continue to count on Europe for global leadership in the fight against climate change.”
37
The U.N Secretary General’s office issued a statement that called the decision “a major disappointment for global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote global security”. Trump campaigned on stopping funding to the United Nations Green Climate Fund, and has taken multiple steps to dismantle the Obama administration’s legacy on climate change — including rolling back domestic legislation like the Clean Power Plan, which sought to reduce carbon pollution from power plants. During the president’s first international trip last week, world leaders — including the Pope — urged him to remain in the accord. Republicans have also spoken in favor of the climate accord, including former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney who tweeted his perspective Wednesday night. Trump on Thursday said the other nations urging the U.S. to remain a partner in the climate fight wanted to ensure “we continue to suffer the self inflicted major economic wound.” The reality, Trump said, is that withdrawing is both “in America’s economic interest and won’t matter much to the climate.” He added that his administration “will continue to be the cleanest and most environmentally friendly country on Earth.” ...

“We need great people coming into our Country!” Trump said. Trump campaigned on the promise of building a border wall to deter illegal immigration. Congress has given him some funding but not as much as he has requested. Trump also wants changes to legal immigration, including scrapping a visa lottery program. In addition, he wants to end the practice of releasing immigrants caught entering the country illegally on the condition that they show up for court hearings. Trump has also demanded that the U.S. shift to an immigration system that’s based more on merit and less on family ties. Democrats and some Republicans have objected to
Democrats have long opposed financing Trump’s wall but lack the votes by themselves to block House approval of that amount. But they have the strength to derail legislation in the closely divided Senate. Without naming a figure, Trump said in April that he would “have no choice” but to force a government shutdown this fall if he doesn’t get the border security money he wants. The $5 billion is well above the $1.6 billion in the Senate version of the bill, which would finance the Homeland Security Department. The higher amount matches what Trump has privately sought in conversations with Republican lawmakers, according to a GOP

The federal budget year ends Sept. 30, and lawmakers will spend much of August in their states campaigning for re-election in November.
Two leading Democrats — Reps. Nita Lowey of New York and California’s Lucille Roybal-Allard — called the $5 billion a waste that “only further enables this administration’s obsession with cruel attacks on immigrants.” Separately Sunday, Trump tweeted that there are “consequences when people cross our Border illegally” and claimed that many who do so are “using children for their own sinister purposes.”
@realDonaldTrump
Trump would be taking a political risk if he does, in fact, allow most government functions to grind to a halt on Oct. 1, the first day of the new budget year, roughly a month before the Nov. 6 elections, when Republican control of both chambers of Congress is at stake. House Republicans released a spending bill this month that provides $5 billion next year to build Trump’s wall, a major boost.

Trump’s tweet came several days after the government said more than 1,800 children separated at the U.S.-Mexico border under Trump’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy have been reunited with parents and sponsors. A federal judge had ordered the reunions to be completed by last Thursday but hundreds of children remain separated. The administration says some of their parents have criminal histories. “Please understand, there are consequences when people cross our Border illegally, whether they have children or not – and many are just using children for their own sinister purposes,” Trump said. The national ‘Families Belong Together’ rallies were June 30, 2018. People marched in solidarity with parents who have been separated from their children at the U.S. and Mexico border, aimed to fight back against President Trump’s zero tolerance policy.
He also said Congress must fix “the DUMBEST & WORST immigration laws anywhere in the world!” and urged voters to “Vote ‘R’” in November.

“We love our country, we love our God, we love our flag, we are proud of our country, we are proud of who we are,” he said. “So, we want to get this situation straightened out in Charlottesville and we want to study it, and we want to see what we are doing wrong as a country where things like this can happen.” Asked what Trump meant by saying “on many sides,” a White House official also pointed a finger at the counterprotesters. “The President was condemning hatred, bigotry and violence from all sources and all sides. There was violence between protesters and counterprotesters today,” the official said. Demonstrators clashed on the streets of
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides. It has been going on for a long time in our country―not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America.” past, has been quick to label foreign events terrorism and has slammed fellow politicians for not quickly labeling attacks as terrorism. At one point the President also touted economic improvements, saying the nation’s unemployment rate was the lowest in 17 years. Trump said he was dismayed by the violence: “We have so many incredible things happening in our country, so when I watch Charlottesville, to me it is very, very sad.” Trump closed his remarks on Charlottesville urging people to remember “no matter our color, creed, religion or political party, we are all Americans first.”
Charlottesville on Saturday morning ahead of a white nationalist rally, with counterprotesters and right-wing nationalist groups converging on the college town in the latest chapter in the United States’ debate over race and identity. The protests were precipitated by the city’s government deciding to remove symbols of its confederate past, including a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. Similar protests happened in May when New Orleans officials decided to remove confederate statues.

Response criticized by both sides Democrats and Republicans alike slammed Trump’s response to the violence in Charlottesville, arguing the President’s statement lacked “the absolute moral clarity that we need from the President of the United states at times like this,” as Scott Jennings, a former special assistant to President George W. Bush, said. Trump’s fellow Republicans also slammed the President. “Mr. President - we must call evil by its name. These were white supremacists and this was domestic terrorism,” tweeted Cory Gardner, a Colorado Republican. The White House said Saturday that it was in touch with Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s office and that White House homeland security adviser Thomas Bossert’s team has been in touch with local authorities. Before his on-camera statement, Trump, who is on his 17-day vacation in New Jersey, urged people to “come together as one” in response to the protests but did not explicitly mention the white nationalist origins of the conflict. “We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for,” he wrote on Twitter. “There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one!”

Trump’s working vacation at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey has so far been consumed by roiling tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Trump’s time away from the White House has been anything but calm, with the President consistently responding to threats from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who has threatened to launch missiles near the US territory of Guam. White nationalist groups who have come to be known at the “alt-right” drafted off Trump’s candidacy in 2016 and rose to national prominence by tying themselves to Trump’s message.
On Saturday in Virginia, according to a video posted on Twitter by a photojournalist from The Indianapolis Star, David Duke -- a prominent former Ku Klux Klan leader who ran for Senate in Louisiana in 2016 -- tied the protests in Virginia to Trump. “This represents a turning point for the people of this country,” Duke said. “We are determined to take this country back. We’re gonna fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That’s what we believed in. That’s why we voted for Donald Trump because he said he’s going to take our country back.”
