Jin.O HALLYU: Please introduce yourselves! A.CIAN: ATTENTION! WE ARE A.CIAN Hello, This is A.cian. LO-J: I am LO-J, the leader and my role is Rap and Dance. JUNG SANG: I am JUNG SANG, the Blondie of the group and my role is Vocal. HYEOK JIN: I am HYEOK JIN, the lead vocal. SANG HYEON: I am SANG HYEON, my role is Rap and Dance. JIN.O: I am JIN.O, the 막내- the youngest of the group and my role is Vocal. HALLYU: A.cian is not a new group, could you tell us what transformation you went through from the previous image to current image? A.CIAN: As the company merged to a new company it was a better environment. There was a lot of twists and turns during the training process because of the merge there was a replacement of the members in the group. During the long time training, we got to improve our skills with a more solid foundation. New members joined the group, HYEOK JIN and LO-J. Having new members join the group, our dancing, singing, and other areas added more variety to the group. HALLYU: What makes you stand out from all other KPOP idols?

Korean Entertainment & Culture Magazine
Sang Hyun A.CIAN: The keyword that would make us different from other KPOP idols is the word “Integrity” whether it is personal, professional, or artistic. How we express ourselves to everyone in all aspects is doing it with “integrity”. Even when we see someone for the first time, we want to approach them without hesitation to show our sincerity. In this way, won’t the people feel more love when it’s coming from our end first? :D HALLYU: Please tell us about your album OUCH! A.CIAN: The mini album title song, ‘Ouch’ has the theme of ’break out from oppression in life’. With that meaning in mind, the song features powerful sounds and dramatic boxing choreography. You know, everyone who’s stressed! Listen to our song, ‘Ouch’ and we hope you “knock out” your stress away! The performance of this song is unique because of the boxing moves in our choreography. On stage, we also have props in the middle of the performance including boxing gloves and an LED boxing ring to portray a live boxing scene. If you keep this in mind, you will find our stage more thrilling and breathtaking. HALLYU: What are some new experiences you gained while preparing for this album? A.CIAN: The first thing that pops in our mind is BOXING. For our choreography, we had to take actual boxing classes and it was definitely a new experience.
Cover Interview (cont) The boxing choreography was to imprint our song, Ouch, to every one of you. It will also definitely be an experience that will remain for a long time. HALLYU: Did you ever think that you would need to learn boxing in order to be an idol? A.CIAN: No, not at all. We always thought maybe lifting weights and fitness for physical strength and stamina or even for appearance, but we never thought that we would’ve had to learn boxing. Still, it was a new experience and boxing is really an appealing workout and sport. HALLYU: Please talk us through your music video. What are the highlights and what is it about? A.CIAN: Since the theme for Ouch is ’break out from oppression in life’ and some concept of boxing, there was more of showing emotions instead of a story line to act according to. We tried to emphasize the emotion each lyric was trying to portray. (If you concentrate on that point then it might be more enjoyable to watch the music video.) Another highlight in the music video is a scene towards the end. It was shot on a set outdoors on top of a boxing ring where JUNG SANG and JIN.O portrays an actual boxing match. They put on boxing gloves and hit each over for real. Just kidding. You guys should check that out, it probably is the coolest and most memorable scene of the music video. HALLYU: During music video filming what was the hardest thing and the funniest thing that each member had to do? LO-J: I think for me it was the scene of myself putting on the boxing wraps. It was simple and you had to act looking cool. So since I know I am cool, I just went in the shoot feeling good and relaxed. JUNG SANG: There was a scene where I had to wrap my legs around a sand bag and do sit ups. BUT! I will admit and say it and it’s not that my legs are thick, but the bag was thick. I couldn’t latch onto it. So, it was a bit disappointing that JIN.O got to do it instead. HYEOK JIN: There was an individual scene of doing some fitness moves. I went in without knowing which exercise so I warmed up by pumping some weights. All of a sudden, there was a horizontal bar that came down from above. The director requested for me to do chin-ups. I had no energy from pumping weights. I had to swallow my pride and got help from the staff holding me up to do the chin-ups. SANG HYEON: I have a lot of body heat and the costumes were thick. The whole music video, there were a lot of scenes of us dancing. So the whole time of me dancing, I lost a lot of sweat to the point of exhaustion. I was dehydrated and I think that was when it was most difficult. JIN.O : For me, it was when we had a scene outdoors. It was really difficult for me. There were a lot of bugs and the floor was really slippery. Honestly, I.… hate bugs to death.
A.CIAN: We would like to reach out to everyone with different genres of music and be active of course locally but also internationally. We want to spread K-Pop out further as well as put effort in getting everyone to love A.cian. We will also try to approach everyone in other ways in making appearances on variety shows, in acting, and much more. Each time a new album comes out, we also want everyone to feel and see that A.cian is growing which will also be a reason for everyone to look forward to and have good expectations from us. HALLYU: Within the group, Please tell us about your favorite member’s attractive/cute points and fun/special habits. A.CIAN: HYEOK JIN has this appeal where he gets really startled by a small thing. So whenever we are at our dorm or out, we try to scare him. :D JIN.O is very ticklish so we never tried to tickle him, not once. We aren’t being sarcastic, we are dead serious. He doesn’t like it. We also have never listen fully to what JUNG SANG has to say. He always end with saying, “You know.. “, “What was the…”, or “Ah…Never mind” so we never catch what his exact intention is. He never comes around to make his point. HALLYU: Are you currently in dormitory? What are each members responsibilities? A.CIAN: Yes, we all share the same dorm. There isn’t a certain responsibility assigned to each member. Everything is done by rock, paper, and scissors. Whatever we forget, HYEOK JIN takes care of. HALLYU: What is the worst part of living together? (Example, snoring, sharing bathroom, food) A.CIAN: It’s not all that bad for the most part, but the fact that we all fall asleep at a different time isn’t the best thing. The reason is that it could be disturbing to others if someone falls asleep earlier than others because he’s tired and at the same time someone else might be busy doing something personal he needs to do.
HALLYU: In the new year could we expect more of A.cian?

HALLYU: Tell us about a fun episode that happened in your dorm. A.CIAN: There was one funny episode. Well, it was a funny aftermath out of a few incidents. When we first moved in to our dorm, we had to practice singing. So, we would have the music on loud, our voices singing would also loud. Our neighbors would get disturbed. The neighbors under us would come up or the neighbors above would come down to always ask us to be quiet. After we came out for comeback debut, they saw us on television broadcast shows. “NOW”, they became our fans and support us by also cheering for us. :D HALLYU: Is there a special clothing or accessory that several members share often? A.CIAN: We actually don’t share accessories or clothes because we all have a different taste and style. We only wear what each one of us individually likes. BUT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whenever someone gets some “NEW” piece of clothing, everybody asks where he got it from and want it for themselves just because it’s “NEW”. And if the size doesn’t fit then, the rest of the guys play rock, paper, and scissors for it. HALLYU: Which member is best fitting for variety show Roommate and Running man, why? A.CIAN: The members that wants to be on Roommate is HYEOK JIN, SANG HYEON, and JUNG SANG. If they show our fun and delightful daily lives on the show, then we believe everyone would love us even more. The members that wants to be on Running Man is LO-J and JIN.O. They like having missions and believe that they can communicate well with others on the show

which will make the flow of the show also delightful and fun. HALLYU: Is there possibility of seeing A.cian on TV or Dramas? A.CIAN: If we have the opportunity, we definitely will not miss our chance to show our wide appeal outside of the ones we show as an artist. So, yes! We will always try our best to reach out and show every little bit of our appeals. What is A.cian’s plan for Asia and USA? Would a tour be possible in the future? There is another nickname for us besides Boxing-dol which is “출장 뷔페돌”. Basically, “출 장 뷔페” is the Korean term for catering buffet services. If there are fans that love us, we are ready to fly over wherever and whenever! HALLYU: Your fans love you very much, how often do you check SNS to read fan messages? A.CIAN: We check frequently. We feed and grow on the love of everyone. Whether we are out or at our dorm, we always gain our strength by reading comments/messages of support sent by our fans. HALLYU: Please give your final message to HALLYU readers and your fans! A.CIAN: This time A.cian came out and approached everyone with our song, Ouch. We put in our best effort and passion into the album so we hope you show much love for Ouch. Please look forward! Show interest! And show support for us, A.cian! We will reach out further to you with more different genres of music and become the next-door-type friendly multi-talented A.cian. A.cian fighthing! Hallyu Magazine fighting! ^^

OUCH English Lyrics I bury my head on the ground and let out a deep sigh No, why, why can’t I? I’m just thinking useless thoughts I’m withering away, I’m getting more pitiful That’s how life is, I reason by myself Throw away those heavy oppressive feelings Fling away the expectation of others I want to escape from this suffocating place, I wanna put everything down Put your hands up, get up, no matter what anyone says Dance crazily, how ever you want Keep it going, hold up, even if everyone laughs My life is mine, I won’t ever stop If I get tamed, if I am influenced, if I become like you, I’m no more ow ow ouch (get up get up) ow ow ouch (throw your hands up) If you’re dying inside a planned framework, set your heart on fire ow ow ouch (hold up hold up) ow ow ouch (keep your hands up) If reality is eating away at you, hurry wake up and face it The bees can’t even sting you So don’t avoid it anymore, if you’re stung, you’re stung That kind of pain is not a big deal We have a dream a lot of people think When will this horrible familiarity stop? Yesterday’s failures are today’s reality I don’t want to go along but I don’t want to change it either Each person’s trouble won’t change the problem But we can do it, with this earnest hope Why can’t we escape? What are we afraid of? I think and think as I fall asleep

apturing the hearts of fan girls SAY YES returned with a bad-boy image! Their title track Get Out is rock-out, fierce, perhaps even dangling on the dangerous feeling of bad boys at their finest. Notorious for composing their own songs and lyrics SAY YES has put enormous effort into every detail of their 2nd Mini Album Get Out. The Leader himself, Song Ho Kyoung, has obtained a sizzling six pack in order to fit the roll of a sexy bad-boy. Their vocalist, Kim Su Bin, wasn’t far behind with 4 pack and muscled biceps that he shamelessly shows off during the entire Music Video for Get Out. Get Out is a fast paced to highlight craziness going on in the head of the members for still thinking about the one girl they want but cannot have. They beg to Get Out of their heads, to make it easier to forget them, yet at the end they give in and want to show how to have fun. Not A Dream, their second promotion track, on the other hand is a heartfelt ballad, highlighting the vocals of the members. It is a truly marvelous song that many can connect to without the need to understand the lyrics. It’s not a dream- I still love you. SAY YES is an idol band to watch out for in 2015! They are currently working on their next album!

After months of YG preparing a hip hop project of sorts and getting his followers hyped up, it was announced that Bigbang’s G-Dragon and Taeyang would be working on the first project together. Contrary to their song Bad Boy that was released in 2012, the duo came out with Good Boy. Many fans at first thought it was quite funny to see however, this song was anything from ballads and angels. The two came out with a strong snare beat and puled out every blacklight known to man. If the colors weren’t captivating enough then maybe you were looking at both GD and Taeyang. Straying away from the Mohawk, Taeyang’s bleach blonde hair fell to his face while GD rocked the dreadlocks hanging from his hat. As for the song itself, it is definitely a hip-hop song in that it is quite repetitive. By the end of the music video you’ll definitely believe the two are “good boys.” Even with the repetitive beat and chorus line, both Taeyang and GD partied hard and made the video fun. It is definitely one for the party playlist and future events.

hen I arrived at Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana 5 hours before VIXX was to hit the stage, a line had already been formed outside with one fan sitting in a chair outside with an umbrella in the rain. She stated she had travelled from Northern Minnesota, while a few other fans came together from El Paso, Texas! This just shows the impact VIXX has on their fans from the United States, especially here in the Midwest. One fan who was sitting in front of the stage drew a remarkable portrait of Ravi from the MV Error, which she was planning on presenting it to Ravi during Hi-Touch. The concert started later than usual because of technical issues, but all of the guys were at their A-game and gave their full 100%! The opening song was Error and as soon as the lights lit up, the sound in the venue was deafeningly incredible! All of VIXX’s fans were screaming, including myself throughout the whole performance.
14 Korean Entertainment & Culture Magazine
The guys were quite the jokesters when they were answering questions from Post-It notes from the fans. One of the questions that Ravi chose was – What is your favorite American food? Ravi responded, “Piiiiiiizzzza!!!” The funniest highlight was at the end of the performance when Ken was walking off the stage and waving goodbye to all of the fans and blowing kisses. He did not see that the bouncer was right behind him following them and Ken turns to blow a kiss behind him towards the fans and realizes it was the bouncer! Ken immediately gave the bouncer a 90 degree bow! N asked the fans if we wanted them to come back and EVERYONE screamed YES!!!! They promised they would work harder for us and they would come back soon. It is hard to believe they just debuted 2 years ago! You would think they had been performing for years from the performance these gorgeous young guys gave! The Midwest cannot wait for their return!

Getting a Job in the KPOP Industry
As
KPOP and the Korean culture has taken a turning point on the growing scale the amount of people who have turned to Korea as a workforce has also grown. As more people log onto a Korean server, you will definitely find that the amount of available jobs is diminishing. Even something as finding a job as a teacher is becoming increasingly harder. However, if you’re still determined to grab that once in a lifetime job in this country then you’ll definitely want to tune in. Finding a job in Korea is more of luck and timing. You have to be able to get your resume into the companies or schools and be one of the firsts. It also comes with timing. While applying for a teaching position can be found through the school, if you plan on sending in information to an entertainment company, you must be constantly looking on their websites for notices from the staff. So you found a job opening, now what do you do? First things first: Send in that application. This usually consists of having a resume ready in both English and Korean with all your information on it. There are some that even require you put if you have a car or not. Once this happens it’s all in fates hand. The company will receive your email of interest, but you must wait to see if you get hired. All successful applicants will be emailed back. If you don’t get an email, don’t fret; there are many others that will soon be opening for positions. You just have to keep your hopes up. emiT: :Time Korean Entertainment is the fastest-evolving world of its own. There are set rules by law and set rules by culture, as well as, unspoken rules that few speak out loud about. Taken all into consideration it is a lot to keep track of in your mind-all at the same time. As a professional myself, I will reveal what it is truly like being part of this untouchable, desirable and often idolized world. Let’s make something clear right at the beginning. It is not a pretty place. It is not sincere. It is not perfect. There is one thing that is always a factor which ruins everything: time. There is never enough of time. Whether it’s an idol’s schedule, preparation for deadlines, maintenance, photo-shoot, filmings, scrips, editing, practice, or meetings. You will not have enough time in one day to accomplish everything you have on your list. Once you enter this industry, time is no longer your friend. It will become your biggest enemy. From a meeting with MNET’s MUST staff crew it was clear that these people have not thought of sleep in many days. Their eyes were blood-shot, eyebrows high up in effort to keep their eyes open with darkest dark circles I have ever seen. This show is not a main item on MNET’s roster yet the PD and crew put all their lives’ energy in production of the show within the given timeframe, which of course are not fitting into 9-6PM standard working hours. Our meeting was right after recording has finished at prime time of midnight, celebrating yet another successful recorded show. Following our dinner meeting, at 6AM these guys would need to get up again. Unfortunately, that is how every crew staff of any program is. Big or small. No one sleeps. 26 Korean Entertainment & Culture Magazine
Preparations for concerts are also hectic. Besides the million and one thing you must do there are always problems and other thousands of things that come up in the way of already impossible list. The staff in charge of the 2nd light is not answering their phone. You don’t know if they died, overslept, in jail (and calling hundred times in between, not even exaggeration on the amount of calls) or they are simply still on their way. Now you’re in dilemma of what to do. Do you scavenge to replace them with someone else, which would mean emergency calling your best buddy, or getting random staff to take over the job or take on the position yourself or do you cross your fingers and hope the missing staff will make a miracle and will be here before the concert starts. That is just one small example of what you have to do to beat the time and meet your deadline.
You develop new ability to be able to juggle several things at once. Multitasking is a requirement. You learn to combine tasks into one location or one event or do things of similar relation for your initiative schedule. For example, in order to work out all the details of upcoming photo-shoot, HALLYU team has met with the X-idols at a cafe and proceeded with the meeting along with late night dinner into wee hours of the morning, as time is precious on both sides of the parties. Our meeting lasted from afterschedule hours of the said idols starting at 11PM and wrapping up around 4AM, right before their next schedule.
Time is crucial in this industry. Over the years there are cheats and tips you learn of and adjust to. Once you get better at it you get achievement unlocked; level up. Great example of knowing how much time you can juggle around is by knowing clearly your position in this hierarchy of a business structure. An assistant to a manager has no time to juggle. They must be on their toes 24/7. Strictly following orders, never being late, accomplishing triple amount of work in any given day and snoozing in bus, car or taxi between meetings as main source of sleep. Now, if you are a producer, you do have time to juggle and arrange around your deadlines. It does not indicate that you can do whatever you want and sleep at normal hours. It only means that now you have people around you that you order around to help you get your business accomplished. You do get luxury of going out at actual dinner time for dinner with fellow PDs and enjoying a hearty meal because you can afford it now.
Insider
Time is what breaks and makes you in this business. If you are late for anybody your credibility is automatically down the drain; misunderstanding, lost on the way, relative’s death, you are sick at a hospital-neither matters. All the excuses are invalid. If you are not there, someone else will take your place, someone else will get your favor. Building up from the bottom is difficult as you are always chasing time, however, once you reach the top time becomes your friend eventually. Over the years you develop special relationship with it. You value it, you thank it and in return it grants you ultimate success.

Everyone has heard of the idol children of the world. Some of these children include Tablo’s daughter Haru and Chu Sung Hoon’s daughter Sarang. All of these children who are known for their fathers of course have their special idol that completely spoils them. Tablo’s daughter Haru is no stranger to the idol world and cameras. Many have gotten to know her through the show Return of Superman where Tablo runs around trying to keep her happy. During these shows, Tablo periodically takes his daughter onto the set of music shows where she quickly befriends the many artists there, but no one can get closer to her than the boys of Big Bang. In recent shows, Haru has stated that she would pick G-Dragon and Taeyang over her own father causing Tablo to mentally roll over.

Another quirky daughter on this same show is Sarang. Her father, Cho Sung Hoon is a professional UFC fighter, but you wouldn’t guess that just watching them together. On an episode of Return of Superman ZE:A’s Kwanghee paid the family a visit while he was in Japan. It was definitely easy to say that Kwanghee fell in love with Sarang. After a quick dinner Sarang proceeded to show ZE:A’s member all of her toys and tents around the room, and even helped her put the Christmas tree up. Of all these kids though, no one has gained more attention in the entertainment world than Little Psy. There is an unending list of idols that have paid a visit to this child. After appearing on the viral sensation Gangnam Style back in 2012, his fame has only grown. He’s appeared on many shows where idols such as Teen Top, SHINee, and EXID have showered him with gifts and praise. If anything he’s definitely the child to look out for. As more families emerge onto the big screen, I hope idols get ready to spoil them. It’s always great to see their relation ships with these children and the happiness the kids get from their big name friends.

Cover Interview
Jent
HALLYU: Hello this is HALLYU magazine and today we have JENT with his new single 'Girl Like Coffee'! (everybody applauds) Let's start the interview! HALLYU: What does your name mean? JENT: As you may have figured out JENT comes from the word 'gentleman' and my name is Jung-bin which starts with a 'J' so we combined these two things. HALLYU: Please tell us about your new single. JENT: The new single 'girl like coffee' is about comparing the girl I'm in love with with coffee. HALLYU: What concept have you prepared for your fans? JENT: I really like communicating with my fans so for more than a specific concept I am hoping that my fans can connect to me on a more friendly level. HALLYU: Is this song from a personal experience or was it thought of? JENT: I haven't experienced many things so I wonder what would it feel feel like to have such a feeling to a girl. That't that why I thought of such a story-line. HALLYU: This is the first time your debuting as a solo artist. How is it? JENT: I feel it's a lot more comfortable. I am more free to do the things I want to do. HALLYU: What's the difference between being in a group and being solo? JENT: Not sure if its good or bad but you have less things you need to worry about. You can really focus on your own goal and what you want. HALLYU: Whats the best and worst thing of being a solo artist? JENT: The best is doing the music I love which is R&B. the worst is not having people to rely on. When you make a mistake It's all on you and nobody else. Also, definitely a lot more responsibility. HALLYU: While you were preparing for your solo debut what was different when you actually deputed? JENT: I thought I would be able to do anything I want. (everybody laughs) HALLYU: Out of the things you couldn't do while you were in a group what would you like to do now? JENT: I think it's definitely about the music. When I'm in a group I can't choose the songs I want to do and since it's on idol group it usually has to be dance-songs. HALLYU: How many types of coffee have you drank JENT: Ironically I am not the biggest fan of coffee so not so many. (everybody laughs)

HALLYU: Tell us about your daily life. JENT: My daily life is work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep and maybe meet some friends some time. Now I'm preparing a dance so I think I'm going to be more busy. HALLYU: What is your ideal type? JENT: My ideal type is a girl who isn't afraid to show her flaws. A person you thought was perfect but has some flaws. HALLYU: What kind of person would you want to be for her? JENT: A person who really loves her. HALLYU: Whats a good habit you have? JENT: I don't feel at ease till I get everything done. HALLYU: What is one of your regrets? JENT: When I was in highschool I wish I was more interested in learning instruments. HALLYU: If you weren't an entertainer what would you want to do? JENT: I can't see myself doing anything other than this so if i were to not do this I think I would just be working in some company. HALLYU: How would you describe your fashion? JENT: Very neat and sophisticated. Very gentlemen-like. (everybody laughs) HALLYU: What is your favorite color when it comes to your clothes? JENT: Black and white is my favorite colors. HALLYU: What is the first thing you do when you get up? JENT: I have a bad habit of looking at my phone too much. So when I wake up the first thing I always do is look at my phone. HALLYU: Seems like a bad habit everybody has. (JENT laughs) Have you ever dress in girl clothing for a concept? JENT: When I was in a group we had a concert in japan. We danced and dressed in head bows and a one-piece. (everybody laughs) HALLYU: How was that? JENT: It was very embarrassing. But I got a lot of compliments saying that I looked pretty. (everybody laughs) HALLYU: Is there any Idols you look up to? JENT: Block B is a group I really look up to. I even went to their studio myself and asked them to take a picture with me. I really like their music and maybe even do a collaboration. HALLYU: What do you think is the difference between love and hate? JENT: There is a song that sings the true nature of love is hate and I agree with that I feel like they are very similar. You can't have one without the other.
